Basically I'd just like to suggest you and your team's custom art interpretation and/or a description of a what if scenario: What if the Seven Demon Lord digimon were purified or redeemed, perhaps gaining new, more heroic forms to match. I'm just interested in the concept heroic redesigns for these Digimon initially created to embody evil. With such, I'd be quite interested to see what you might bring to the table in you and your team's methods of designing Digimon. If anyone else has ever made any designs running with this concept, I'd be happy to see them.

Completed 2 routes already, currently on my 3rd playthrough and I have to say, the fact that there's branching evolutions for not only our MC Takuma but for almost everyone really reflects how digimon and their human relationship really matters in the game. Hope you get to finish truthful route and enjoy the story and characters

Not bad i would love to see some of them in survive. But you know what i really would hope for? More branched lines for the side characters and One or two dlc with ancient digimon because they fit in their. The other Dlc should focus on Bancho Digimon i think they fit into survive because they get their name Bancho from going trough hardships what is basically all in survive.

I'm pretty happy with the Digimon they did use. With the whole game having an "Adventure, but even darker" feel to it, the draw of the earlier digimon feels appropriate. Plus they still allowed quite a few Digimon to have the spotlight that normally haven't gotten that. Some of these were fun. Although I could not get behind swapping out Labramon. That choice was pretty on point by the game. But no question that some of these could have absolutely worked. And maybe if they do another one like this in the future they could try out some different ideas. But for now I'm pretty happy with the digimon choices. Especially with the various evolutions, but obviously not the time to comment on those.

I love seeing these new partners for characters! I’d really love to see this as a series! I especially want to see it for 02! That might be difficult though because of Armor evolution and Jogress. It would be awesome to see custom art for that but I understand that it might not be in the spirit of how this type of video works. Though I’d still love to see the custom art too if you were willing!

I really understand the feeling of "wtf are the last evolutions in this tree" feeling. I got the game for my birthday and havent played through all of it yet. No time, plus life happens~ But the thought of it really does make me want to drop everything and speedrun to unlock those evos! If they end up being NG+ unlocks then I'm gonna throw a fit (and probably play the game again immediately anyway). Tbh opening the menu and seeing the other character's lack of proper evolutionary trees was hugely dissapointing, but then I realised that those evolutionary lines neatly represent each character's morals, story and character development, so a lack of variety in their case is...acceptable.

These are great! I gotta say though, my favorite pick for a replacement for Agumon has to be Dracomon. He's such an under-utilized Digimon (outside of being a minor character in a lot of games) and while he only has a "canon" virus and vaccine path, I feel like the canon data path (again, no spoilers) translates perfectly from Agumon to Dracomon. Plus Examon is an ultra-level mega as well. I do like your choices for Gammamon though, they fit in really nicely! I would definitely prefer Gammamon to the Agumon that we got - I'm sooo burnt out on Agumon's line unfortunately and I enjoyed him less than I would if he was literally any other digimon (besides like, betsumon).

You know seeing this and watching you breaking down all these kids is making me realize that digimon survive is basically digimon adventure but way more I want to protect these kids lol. I mean seriously the game has a Matt and a Mimi type so yeah. As for the different team match UPS they're all pretty good every single one of them definitely fits their respective partners. Not to mention the further representation of the VB and the ghost game digimon was also a pretty nice touch and made it very different. Overall a pretty good solid list of different partners for these characters and I still want to get this game. But I just beat Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and about to prepare to get another monster collection game which is Soul Hackers 2 so in the back survive. Still great job with the video anyway Karn!

Honestly I think you missed a trip with Minoru. Given his fixation on Heroes (Comics in the Dub, Sentai in the sub) I feel like Monodramon->Strikedramon->Cyberdramon->Justimon would have been a perfect fit for him. Sure it's a bit older than your normal, but Strikedramon is actually relatively new and we haven't really seen Monodramon or Justimon much since Tamers with Justimon only making an appearance in Hacker's Memory IIRC.

Glad to see your take on switching the partner Digimon, as I believe the thematic choices you made were pretty great, in terms of modern counterparts to the original partners. In particular, I find that the choice of Ghostmon as the more modern replacement for Dracmon. Thematically, it just seems to fit all the more greatly, even down to implementing Neomyotismon as it's Mega evolution. Best of luck on your next project, and I can't wait to see what come up with next!

Great video. While my main gripe with the partners in Survive wasn't exactly that they're mostly old Digimon, I can't deny that that played into it. Replacing them with newer, more fresh Digimon definitely feels a bit better, at least for some. Morphomon for Ryo feels fine, although I had no problem with Kunemon and Flymon, as those feel like they never quite got the spotlight they deserved, my problem is mostly with their further stages. Replacing them with the latter stages of Eosmon would certainly be quite interesting. The suggested Cutemon-line for Shuji seems pretty neat as well, I'm certainly always on board for another use of Shademon and Luminamon, especially when it makes sense narratively. I also like Ghostmon, although I feel like Wizardmon might be a bit too commonly used as an older Digimon for my taste? And I'm not sure how well it really leads over into Pumpkinmon. I'm tempted to say Candlemon would be the perfect in-between, but of course it's generally a Rookie, even though it'd fit perfectly between this flame-ghost and the Jack o'Lantern, imo. Technically, I guess you could Meramon in there instead, but it's just not the same. Maybe Soulmon, since Halloween-theme, but I don't know, I'm not feeling it. Mius new line is... interesting? Honestly, on its own its not bad, but on one hand, it feels a bit... boring, with no real twists? Which is something I like about Mius actual line. Also, as you mentioned, a bit of a lack of femininity. I do think certain aspects of this line would make sense in consideration of some spoilery aspects. Sakis new line works really well as well, even though it's a very, well, boring line as well, just being its regular line for the most part. In general, I feel like Sakis line is the one I like the most as it actually is in the game, for one because Floramon finally got to be a partner and got (at least partially) the line it deserved, but also because the line very much follows Sakis development from what I've seen, which makes me appreciate even the parts I don't necessarily like of the line. And the Hydramon-line kinda just... turns that around, which doesn't make the most sense. Aois new line works perfectly fine, I think. Minoru going with a non-bird line might be a bit critical for certain reasons, although I generally like the idea his new line follows, going with a non-standard line for LoaderLiomon, but still one that thematically makes sense even into HeavyLeomon. Takumas new line certainly seems interesting, and inserting Gammamon certainly makes sense (and I'm definitely way more happy with it getting more spotlight than Agumon for the nth time), the only thing making me somewhat critical of the line is that Gammamon already was a partner for a main-character once, and generally, I'm not the biggest fan of multiple main-characters having the same partner with largely the same line, it's why I'm generally not a big fan of the idea of Davis' Veemon digivolving into UlforceVeedramon without a Jogress, for example. But generally it's a good fit.

As someone who has Platinum the game, I know why they choose the megas they did, I just wish Takuma's vaccine mega was different as his level 7 cannot be acquired during the true path as far as I am aware. As for your suggestion with Gammamon, I think his virus line should have been GulusGammamon, Orochimon, and finally Dorbickmon. Dorbickmon feels like it should be a part of Gammamon's line.

I'm actually making my own continuation of Digimon Survive-but it's based on the bad ending, similar to when I did my own continuation of the Cyber Sleuth games. And the Survive 'Destined Kids (including Takuma, along with Miyuki & Haru) have new Mega forms, but I don't wanna spoil it for you, though. But I'll give you a SLIGHT HINT: the 'destined kids (NOT Takuma), Miyuki, & Haru meet a good fate similar to what happened to Erika Mishima & her Wormmon in DSCSHM. 🧐🧐🧐

Algomon's line and Rafflesaimon would have worked well for Saki with Entmon as a dark evolution. Because SPOILERS FOR END GAME BACKGROUND STUFF Saki has some sort of serious disease in real life which is a huge part of her character. Algomon, which was used like a Keramon in Colon replicates rapidly like a computer virus. So it has some connection to disase through real world viruses. Cancer works by multiplying too (not sure if that's what Saki has I only beat Harmony) Rafflesaimon's whole thing is that she only can live for a few days. Entmon is a zombie plant.

I was hoping all characters would have lines that worked similar to VB lines. Everything I say is a comment on what they ARE NOT in the game I was also hoping an evolution path for Dracmon was Wizardmon in my pre-release predictions. Takuma with Dinosaur/Dragons had hope for Samurdramon or even Gankoomon Megas Aoi with Beasts was hoping she'd have some kinda Leomon, Gaogamon, or personally Dorulumon lines Minoru with Birds was harder but I was hoping Thunderbirdmon and Sparrowmon would make the cut (retrospect, surprised Silyphmon and Valkyriemon didn't get matched to him) Ryo with Insects is surprisingly TigerVespamon didn't make it or he have something like Infermon (I also had secretly wanted Ballistamon line to appear here to stretch that Insect) Saki having Plants gave me hope they'd some of the more modern ones like mentioned in the video but I thought Lotusmon finally had a chance to be a Partner after being ousted by Rosemon so many times Shinji, ironically, I thought was supposed to be the Holy Digimon rep so I figured he have angels like Mastemon and SlashAngemon, with Ultimates like Bastemon or Shakkoumon Kaito was the Dark or Demon rep so again, I thought a good spin would be to give his "Good" route Wizardmon lines, then others like Asuramon and Devimon as non vampiric options Miu was the Aquatic partner so far cry was like the line suggested but I thought it be funny if the little kid got Whamon as an option or a Mega like Neptunemon Again I feel like there should have been someone to represent the Machine like Digimon. I can accept the Nature based ones like Gotsumon and Meramon being tied to Kenogami enemies but Hagurumon, Guardromon, Clockmon, and the like could've used love too

I've been thinking about how I would fix the game so they all branch 3 ways... and as it turns out Dracmon doesn't even have 3 branches that are even possible. There's only 2 things he can officially Digivolve into. So in order to fill out his branching line I took some Digimon from other lines that I thought would fit him thematically. Devidramon > Mephistomon > Gulfmon I choose this line because there are Devimon evolutions that are officially possible from Dracmon anyway but I wanted to go with Devidramon because it's a Devi family Digimon that I don't think gets a lot of attention. Coredramon (Blue) > Wingdramon > Slayerdramon I choose this line based on the fact that the mega has "Slayer" in the name and Dracmon himself being a Vampire having him digivolve into a Vampire Slayer this also makes him a Vaccine type so it seemed appropriate for a good Dracmon to turn into when he starts out as a Virus. It's also interesting to mention that both Devidramon and Coredramon are Dragons which wasn't really intentional but I kind of like the theming. Sangloupmon > Matadormon > GrandDracmon This is just here cause it's an official evolution line that ends in a more powerful version of Dracmon so it just feels kind of obvious that should be his main evolution line. I also want to bring up that ideally I think the 3 branches should always be Vaccine, Data, and Virus and this basically gives Dracmon 2 possible Virus lines. I couldn't really find any Data attribute Digimon that I thought really worked with Dracmon. Who would have thought that it'd be easier to find a Vaccine that fit than a Data. Anyway, I think you should use this for a future video either matching Rookie partners with other evolution lines that change their attributes or designing brand new evolutions that are intentionally designed with that rookie in mind. You could even include Agumon that way designing Data and Virus evolution versions of the Greymon line to replace Tyrannomon and Tuskmon. And I know Tyrannomon is both Vaccine and Data but Greymon also shares the Vaccine attribute so it seems like Tyrannomon is meant to be his Data evolution line.

I would have Wezengamamon’s mega be Gundramon. They play with attributes all the time so they could make Wezen a virus type because Gundramon is a good parallel to Agumon’s wrathful mega.

Hey karn I have a question About digimon tamers No one's ever really went in depth about how in tamers the 01 and 02 seasons were a tv show and card game. What I mean is the actors from 01 and 02 ...wouldn't they hear about real digimon appearing on the news I mean the tamers battling and be freaked out or concerned or wouldn't the tamers try to contact the actors or writers to figure out how did they know so much about digimon . Lol I know this is random but I never heard anyone speak on this? Lol anyways love your what if videos

Funnily enough I just for my own fun, tried to pair the Survive Chosen Children with new Digimon, specifically 2020 Virtural Pet stuff, so lots of my choices align with yours, including giving Minoru Junkmon funnily enough, alongside the more obvious ones like Saki with Pomumon and Miu with Sangomon.

I know how you feel. I hated it so much. I rather imagine and predict what will happen based on what I'm seeing to think what will the next evolutions and chapters will be like as I play the game but these videos show up and ruin the experience of playing it without knowing. Also at times I did wanna look up guides to help but I knew that would be very risky. Even one thumbnail spoiled the moral route ending. I now went through all routes and got every evolution but it's dumb I got spoiled a few times cuz of KZbin reccomending me videos.

I didn't like they focused on the older digimon. Like 8 megas I've never gotten to use before and a couple of ultimates and champions. So like 15 "new" digimon and the other 102 are the same ones we've seen over and over and over! YAWN! I would have preferred your line up!

The following comment is for anyone curious as to what Agumon's two beyond Mega Evolutions are and how to get them, that either simply want info that's confirmed (since even some of the websites don't have the info are are just flat out wrong about some of it), don't plan on playing the game themselves and are curious(though I'd advise you to play it, it's nowhere near as bad as reviewers made it seem if you go in knowing it's a Visual Novel) or don't currently have the available funds to buy it Obviously anything after this rambley block of words will be spoilers, so this is your last chance to back out: this comment was also made on mobile, so if I somehow don't skip down or waste enough space to ensure you don't see those spoilers and don't want them, back away from this comment now Seriously now, this is your last warning: the next blip is gonna have the evos and how you get them, so move along if you don't want spoilers The first evolution(and the one not locked behind NG+) is Omnimon on the moral path, and can ONLY be obtained on the moral path, not the True Path(which follows the Moral tree, but is in NG+ if you save Ryo) on chapter 11 iirc. The Second Is Fenglongmon in the True Path, in which case you have to go through THE ENTIRE PATH and(again, iirc) defeat the master's true form, which is Fenglongmon fused with his partner Haruchika(will update this if I misremembered that, have a save specifically for the true Path)

This was another great video. Since I'm still on my first playthrough, it would be nice to see if each Digimon partner had a dark champion digivolution (if you know what happens). This way, the game will be more random with each other the stories' outcomes.

Not so much any of the champon forms but your karma determines Augomon's evos and without spoiling anything, it can determine/unlock alternate megas for your friends.

Before I say what I'm going to, I feel I should mention that I haven't played Survive yet, as I've been too poor to. I was half expecting Ryo to be given Dokunemon, but I guess that'd be an older Digimon too, doesn't get much spotlight compared to Kunemon, though Kunemon I don't think gets much either. For Shuuji I can't really think of any other recent Rabbit Digimon, though I will say I thought Luminimon and Shademon were Slide Evos of one another with both of them being Champions. I see your picks for Kaito's Partner, and would like to suggest GiganticPumpmon, instead of NeoVandemon, because I think it'd be amusing. Miu I can't really think of any newer Aquatic Digimon that you didn't mention(other than MarineChimeramon, but I don't think that fits Miu very well), though KingWhamon is it's own Digimon now, but I think that might be a little big Your picks for Saki's Partner is good, though I would go with Rafflesimon instead of Bloomlordmon, because Saki seems very similar to Mimi as you mentioned. For Aoi, I can't think of many beast Digimon that remain beasts, though I want to give her Manitcoremon for some reason For Minoru, I'm personally going to keep to the bird theme, and go with Hawkmon -> Thunderbirmon-> Parrotmon -> FrosVelgrmon/Crossmon, not exactly new Digimon other than FrosVelgrmon, but I think it fits, and I really like FrosVelgrmon Takuma has three all the way through? Then my pick is DORUmon, the Virus Line I'm picking is the Death-X-DORUgamon line(shocker I know), the Data(because Wikimon says they can be either Data or Vaccine) is the DORUgamon Line ending in DORUgoramon and for Vaccine I'm going with Ginryumon's line since according to Wikimon, DORUmon can evolve into Ginryumon.

If they did use Morphomon, maybe this could be its opportunity to get a true line instead of Eosmon? Using Pomumon as a plant always feels weird to me. I think its visual similarities with Biyomon always make me think of it as a bird. The only alternatives I can think of for its line are too old though. Guess we need more plant Digimon 😁
