5 seconds probably wouldn't do anything dramatic, people survive minutes in saunas at those temperatures.

@@justawildgengar I don't think the variables are well enough defined and the scenario doesn't make sense. Water reaches boiling point but not all water only surface water not under pressure in the scenario? Same applies to the body and most objects, just because the temperature hits 212 doesn't mean the entire object would boil instantly only the surface.

Im not sure if the steam in question is the same as boiling water but there was a woman who got locked in a steam chamber for sterilizing equipment and it ran through the whole process with her inside amd im pretty sure she died after she was found later on, 5 seconds seems doable lol

Well, water does turn to water vapor at 212°F. (100°C) So, basically, yes. Bacteria will die at temperatures above 212 degrees, according to Google.

If the Earth's surface reached the boiling point for 5 seconds, it would have a catastrophic effect on the planet and all forms of life. All living organisms would be instantly killed, including humans and all other forms of life on land, in the oceans and in the air. This scenario is extremely unlikely to happen, as the Earth's temperature is regulated by a complex system of natural processes that help to balance the temperature and prevent such extreme changes. It's important to note that this scenario is purely hypothetical and that the possibility of Earth's surface reaching boiling point is extremely unlikely, as the conditions and parameters that allow Earth to have a suitable temperature for life as we know it, are not present in such scenario.
