As always, excellent job Sega Scourge. I look forward to more. As for Mephiles, what a sneaky trickster he is. He could have simply shot at Sonic like he did in Sonic 06. But he realized that Sonic and Emerl shared a strong friendship, and were willing to do anything for each other; they are already the kind of heroes that would put their life on the line to help other people, no matter what, but that goes double for their friends (this is evident by how quick Emerl was to agree to Eggman’s deal to surrender himself in exchange for releasing Elise, despite everyone realizing that Eggman would likely not stay true to his word. And since Emerl is like a carbon copy of Sonic (at least in personality), with Sonic and Emerl sharing their link, it is seems clear that Sonic would perform the same kind of self sacrifice to help his friends: in fact, he does sacrifice himself at the end for Emerl. It looks like in this version, Sonic was able to see Mephiles coming, as opposed to getting caught by surprise as he was in Sonic 06. If Mephiles were to just shoot directly at Sonic, Sonic could have simply darted out of the way of the blast and ready himself to fight, or even risk Emerl taking the hit for Sonic. Instead, being as cunning as he is, Mephiles exploited Sonic’s heroism and compassion for Emerl by shooting at the gizoid, thereby setting up the circumstances for Sonic to let his guard down as the fear for losing his friend takes over; I’d expect under different conditions, Sonic could have at least lasted a bit longer on a one on one fight with Mephiles if he were to put his all into it. But since Sonic became more concerned about saving Emerl than preserving his own life, Sonic made it easy for Mephiles to take him out in one single shot. (Actually reminiscent to the final fight between Zuko and Azula in Avatar: the Last Airbender; Zuko was able to compete with Azula just fine. But when Azula tried to kill Katara with a lightning blast, Zuko also let his guard down and rushed to take the hit in a desperate attempt to save Katara). I would go so far as to say that Mephiles was counting in Sonic to fear for Emerl’s life to such a degree that he would fail to realize the consequences of his own death; with Sonic dead, Elise released the dark power Mephiles wanted, simultaneously demonstrating that his own power surpassed Sonic’s in front of Emerl, thereby getting Emerl as his own servant and obtaining the chaos emeralds to complete his plans; seems more like three birds with one stone now that I think about it. With Mephiles acting so quick to strike at Emerl, Sonic would have little time to think of a good plan to fight Mephiles/protect Emerl, let alone think about the consequences to any of his actions; Mephiles forced Sonic to react rashly by attacking Emerl. Mephiles was looking to kill Sonic, and did so in a way that took advantage of Sonic’s weakness and compassion and leave him little time to even think about the consequences; Sonic practically gave Mephiles everything he wanted on a silver platter with his self sacrifice: Emerl, the emeralds, and the dark power. This further demonstrates how cunning Mephiles is. Also, the whole rivalry with Emerl and Gemerl is also great. I was expecting that as more time went on, Emerl would go off on his own little adventure, trying to meet up with Gemerl again in order to help him find a purpose beyond just fighting people, such as helping people instead, just as Sonic and his friends had done for him. But with that stunt Mephiles pulled, it looks like we won’t have that story (maybe just not now, until after the battle against Mephiles is over); in fact, it could be argued that Emerl, Sonic, and their friends could have eventually helped Gemerl turn good (as he is now canonically) if given enough time. Mephiles, capable of moving throughout time, could have possibly seen that Sonic and Co. eventually get Gemerl on their side (Mephiles was already traveling in the past to learn more about Emerl, so it stands to reason that he would also look into the future to learn just how powerful Emerl and his friends become). Thus, Mephiles would need to kill Sonic, thereby disabling Emerl before they can get Gemerl on their side, the only other robot that could possibly go up against Emerl. After all, it cannot have been a coincidence that Mephiles showed up to kill Sonic RIGHT after Emerl and Gemerl have their little fight. Unless, of course, this is in fact a coincidence and Gemerl won’t have significance until a later chapter. Mr. Scourge, could you confirm to me if was in fact your intention to have Mephiles arrive after Emerl and Gemerl fight for the purpose I have listed above, or if it is simply a coincidence and I am looking into this deeper than I should? Of course, if the answer would reveal too many spoilers, than simply say so. Having said all of that, thank you Sega Scourge for another great story.

@@SCrafter1234 I can relate, I couldn't get past the Radical Train mach speed section in Sonic's story and the Silver rival battle/boss fight in Shadow's story; first one I was able to complete was Silvers story, which only took me a around 6 to 7 months to beat with month long breaks in between road blocks in the story. I was able to complete the game around 9 months after I got the game for Christmas in 2018. I only encountered around 20 glitches in the game during my many hours of play, besides that the most annoying part of Sonic 06 are the prevelant and exteamely long loading screens and having ng to play as Amy, Tails, and Knuckles who are horrible in this game.

Have a theory on where this will end up for Part 4. The events up to this point of Sonic 06 continue (with the addition of Blaze joining the cast as well) and they'll be trying to get things back and running to resurrect Sonic. While Emerl will have the Chaos Emeralds, I'm willing to bet Shadow will attempt to use that code phrase on him again like he did for Sonic Battle, thus bringing him back. That's one scenario...while the other is that Gemerl attempts to assist, and this is the scenario I think might happen, given the scene we had here between them. Truth be told, I'm psyched for this! Also, throwing out possible What If scenarios for ya, just cause: -What If Scourge the Hedgehog survived the Genesis Wave? -What If Nazo was introduced? (Since he's the negative energy within the Chaos Emeralds, would be fun to see where the plausible location of him becoming a reality would be) -What If the Genesis Wave never happened?

That sounds exteamely overpowered, the only ones that could truly help are Shadow without his Inhibitor Rings, Silver using his full power with DETERMINATION to destroy the Iblis half, Knuckles using the Master Emerald to power up if that was carried over from the Archie Comics, Burning Blaze (if she was somehow able to bring the Sol Emeralds back from whatever dimensions she and Silver sent her to at the end of his story).

Man this what if is way more Amazing than I first thought. Before, I was only fixated on the SA2 What if and the Werehog What If, but after actually giving the other What Ifs a chance I finally realized how amazing they truly are! (I.e the Espio and Gamma What Ifs, along with this) I really love the whole Omegerl dynamic and I also love how Insanely Powerful Emerl is! He was able to use Knuckles and Omegas powers to stop a huge train, and completely dominated Iblis before he could even register what happened. Not to mention the never ending Gemerl Character Arc and his Final Fight with Emerl, if only these types of things could be animated.. Good thing we still have Art as a Substitute! The last few bits were certainly something you have to take in what with the severing of Sonics link and actually getting Iblis expended from Elis. If with all this going down Mephiles could definitely end this here and now, but I feel like Gemerl might make a return as a Hero to help out the Heroes in their HUGE pinch right now, I can't wait to see what comes next!

Honestly, Emerl is easily the most powerful Sonic character in terms of his potential. Sure his Ultimate Form lost to a Base Form Sonic, but as an ever evolving fighter who continues to get stronger over time (Not unlike both a few Reploids and a certain Alien warrior race) he could become a force to truly be reckoned with. Really, his cocky Spider-Man-esce personality formed based on the other characters but most likely most of Sonic's due to their link, as well as Gemerl being just as powerful as Emerl is, while not able to copy abilities can merge with other machines are probably a few of the only things balancing Emerl's overpowered nature.

Wow. That was certainly a lot to take. I think you somehow managed to make 06 better just by adding Emerl to the mix. Impressive. You should actually get an award for that achievement. This part was really tense. I had a blast watching this video. Keep up the good work man. If I may, I have a what-if to suggest What if when Sonic turned Super Sonic in Sonic 2, he released negative energy and the said energy was absorbed into Tails? This idea of mine came up, because in Adventure Sonic only then learned about the positive and negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds. So maybe when Sonic first turns Super, some of the negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds is absorbed into Tails. Nothing happens straight away, but it slowly builds up over time in the games. I can see this becoming an issue for both his friends and enemies in either Sonic 06, Colours, Lost World and Forces. Tails turn into a Dark form when he is highly stressed and when the Emeralds are around. Tails' personality could also change in his normal form, being afraid of himself and also less hesitant to fight due to fear of losing his friends. Just like your 'What if Sonic never lost his Werehog form' I can see Tails suffering from nightmares of his Dark Counterpart killing his friends and destroying all of Mobius. It's just something fun I came up with.

I'm not sure how the next part will go, but dang dude this was awesome! I really dig how this story goes, granted I was a bit hesitant regarding Gemerl as a separate copy of Emerl (as I'm under the camp that they are the same, only rebuilt), but you made it really work! My guess for how this'll go is that either Ultimate Emerl will serve as a Guardian for Solaris or a vessel for him. Granted, they're gonna use the real super power of...you know the rest, to snap Emerl out of it to bring back Sonic. After that, I'm curious to see how you can incorporate the Rush games, Unleashed, and onwards. Keep it up. :)

All joking aside, I actually went back to rewatch Part one of this rewrite, and I could not find anything resembling red eyes, or anything that would otherwise suggest that Mephiles was round, just to see if I could find him. Omega is my favorite character in Sonic, I mean he's like a sociopathic robot, but instead of enjoying the pain of people he enjoys the pain of eggmans robots, plus his attitude towards violince makes him hard to hate.

This series has really become something special, though it's a bit of a double edged sword for me. I love this series to bits but I also think about the original story & games (& not just for this game but all of them), it's so cool & I'm just imagining what the gameplay could actually be like. Like any level you play as Emerl could be a whole new style almost like a hack & slash mixed with speeding through the levels, like the werehog stages of unleashed, my personal favorite Sonic game, but I know it'll never happen & that bums me out a bit. I still wholeheartedly adore these stories that's just been nagging at me in the back of my head.

Hmm, I really liked your video of Solaris vs Dark Gaia a long time ago, and I was just curious if you'd go back into the thing again, this time with another battle. Perhaps... Solaris vs. Alf Layla Wa-Layla? Both characters have rather crazy feats, almost being similar to each other, like how Solaris consumes dimensions (universes) casually, or how Alf Layla Wa-Layla's mere presence turned the world of the Arabian Nights (universe) into nothing but a bottomless void. If you're not really into discussing the topic between vs. debates again, then that's fine. I really enjoy your videos!

Don't worry, there are still ways to fix this. Silver can travel through time and so can Emerl before the link is severed. Not only that but the chaos emeralds affect spacetime in a localized area and they have some chaos emeralds from the future. All those together should allow for time shenanigans to allow Sonic to defy death this one time.

I'm working on rewriting Sonic Forces. One thing I did was replace the return of Classic/mania sonic, with the return of Emerl. As for how he returned, Tails has been spending his free time finding his parts all over the world. And the new power source? The fake emeralds from Sonic battle 2. They have the same power output as the real ones but don't amp one anther's power. Tails make 7 of them but they give Emerl about the power of 4 or 5 Chaos emeralds. Face it, we can't let him keep all 7 chaos emeralds if he came back for real, and this prevents him from being too op as he was originally. He can regain his former full power by making contact with the Master Emerald to charge his fake emeralds. And doing so open his 3rd eye. Tails does plan to replace the fakes with the real ones until Sonic is frond to be alive. But until then, Emerl takes the roll sonic once held for the resistance. And ends up facing again Infinite several times. Their final battle is at the tower as the rookie take the prototype phantom ruby to the top of the tower. As this time Infinite decides to try to stop him just in case he can stop the sun. And Emerl wins by using some of Infinite's own tricks against him to catch him off guard and finish him by combining Sonic's homing attack with the rookie's grappling kick. If ya all want I will let ya know when this is done. But Emerl is not the center character in this story. The resistance cell the Rookie joined is.

1 Question HOW IN THE HELL DO SILVER AND SHADOW COME BACK TO THE PRESENT? After they found out the truth about Solaris. Edit: Emerl didn’t exist yet. The Chaos Emeralds are still out there and they found two chaos emeralds and leave them both behind to Elise to get back to the present.

Wow that ending O_O Could Gemerl team up with Sonic now and somehow be one of the factors that makes it possible to both revive Sonic (by bringing the emeralds to the heroes to revive sonic) and stop Emeril who's on the hands of Solaris? Remember that Emerl and Gemerl's fight ended in a somewhat inconclusive way, the Gizoid doppelgänger most likely got hit hard in its metallic heart after hearing that he is a copy of a copy. I think that the emeralds where somehow subtracted from Emeril when he and Sonic and gang got caught by Eggman to be used as lab-rats to test the time portal abilities of the prototype Solaris Eggman was able to meddle with back in Part 1, which in turn would make it possible for Gemerl to get the Chaos Emeralds and send them to the heroes to revive Sonic and Fight against Emerl and Solaris. Part of me feels like either Gemerl gains a role similar to Shadow if this is the case, which would be quite fitting due to the fact that Gemerl is to Emerl like how Shadow is to Sonic, a character that at first worked with Eggman and gained a rivalry to their "doppelgänger" of the opposite team that soon left to follow their own path.

A possible outcome for the 06 arc could be that everyone gather the emeralds but they first have to get through Emerl we could even see Gemerl getting into the fight. Subplot during the fight Emerl sends some of the cast back in time to banish them but they get the emeralds from the past Emerl

I wonder I we'll see super emerl fight along with sonic, shadow, and silver fighting 4 version of Solaris instead of 3. Past, present, and future along with some other form of Solaris that exist in a different timeline. A timeline where emerl didn't survive and the original 06 fuses with this time making the battle more interesting. Wishful thinking I know, but I hope super emerl, or supremerl, becomes a thing in the next what if, which to me seems to be bringing a bit more interest to us than the werehog one currently in my opinion. Looking forward to them all!!!

I love the interaction between Omega and Emerl. Omega has always seemed chill to me if a little trigger-happy. Heck, I love how pure-hearted and happy-go-lucky this AU's Emerl is in general. His personality is definitely very similar to Sonic's.
