Ok now do the same video but for that ridiculous ballpark in Mexico that mlb played a game at earlier this season. The elevation there is over 2000 feet higher than Coors.

What's kinda ridiculous is that Barry Bonds would make the top 10 adjusted OPS list with one of his actual seasons without ANY Coors Field inflation.

Your home runs adjusted don't take into account the wind at Giants ballparks (candlestick and Oracle) as those are the windiest stadiums in the league. The home run distances you used have to be recalculated using wind adjustments, bonds would be way ahead of Aaron and Willie would be second or third ahead of aaron

The other factor is that many forget to factor in is that every era up until the 80s and 90s, didn’t have specialty relief pitching. All of MLB relief pitchers that are in the hall of fame played in the modern era. So todays betters will have even more lower batting averages. Even Aaron, Mays, Mantle didn’t have to deal with a great middle river, set up man and closer.
@joerapo
@joerapo Жыл бұрын
Yes as much as we should respect the greats they weren't facing relievers throwing 100+mph two seamers or mid 90s sliders.

You could argue that mays would have hit more if you factor in his 52’ and 53’ season he missed in the military. But then again you can go that with lots of 40’s and 50’s ball players I guess

Does this assume the hitters played 162 games a year at Coors or 81 games as their home park? Also does it assume they played every game or the average # they played per season?

Coors fields needs baseballs with purple laces that are slightly taller than baseballs with typical red laces. Higher laces will "grab" the mile high thinner air better and neutralize the thin air advantage.

So would the RBIs change due to some singles, doubles, triples, near miss flyouts, etc. being HRs? So the guy who got a single who gave the next guy 2 RBIs would change? The premise is interesting & i wonder if all that math would have to be condensed to a single season i.e. barry bonds without a bat

I admit that my comment is because I'm a lifelong Phillies fan. That said, the fact that you completely ignored Mike Schmidt with home runs is a pretty large omission. Dude played for 17 seasons, with 548 home runs. That's an average of 32 per season. No way he doesnt get to at least 600 in this scenario. As it seems that everyone's totals are going up by around a third, then Schmidt would end up with around 700, for his career.

Of the original Blake Street Bombers Bitchette & Castilla never had a great season anywhere else, Walker had a good year the year before he went to Coors & became amazing & Galarraga's 98 season in Atlanta stayed at his Coors level maybe 2000 also & had only a few other good seasons elsewhere. I wonder about Todd Helton as he never played for anyone else.
@kenw2225
@kenw2225 Жыл бұрын
Helton and walker would be great anywhere. The rest benefited significantly from coors. I think Todd Helton is severely under rated. Could argue top 5 hitter of the 2000s decade

Ok, the thumbnail is ridiculous. No, 78 hrs maximum, no, 790 maximum, no Pedro ain't the goat now, and he gets worse not better I can't give a definite goat but I can give you bob Gibson being better than any Pedro Martinez. As I suspect your doing this by ops+ which is a ridiculous stat as just because the guys in 1980s didn't hit 50 home runs, doesn't make it an easier number in the 1990s
