What if Gogendantess survived and joined the Oni? (Onimusha What-If)

While putting together my last theory video, I decided I wanted to explore a few alternate possibilities within the Onimusha universe, so I began writing up a scenario for Gogendantess surviving and eventually working alongside Jubei and the Oni, if only because I can't really imagine any other Genma willingly swapping sides, which is something we still haven't seen yet.
I can't help but admit that I had so much fun writing this up that I've already finished writing the script for two more What-If scenarios, so I'm totally up for doing more of these! I'd love to hear any feedback about how this went, as well as what other scenarios anyone wants to see.

Oh this was such a gripping tale! I was riveted from the beginning, not going to lie I kind of wish this actually happened in the games. I love how much you keep Gogandantess's personality consistent throughout, his character arc here is so natural (especially his relationships with Munetoshi and Akane).

I liked this. Great job. On my first playtrough of Oni2 i wasnt sure if i liked him cause of his showey Ginu style and repetitive dialogue was kind of annoying. But by the final duel i did grow to like him alot. Hes interesting. He became one of my go tos in blade warriors. Being reminded of how unique and potentially complicated his honor motivations vs his loyalties could be, you got me thinking that it would be great if he becomes a character in the upcoming onimusha anime.

he would be more likely an anti-hero anti-villain type of ally so depending on the scenario and situation he’s in 💁🏻‍♀️💯and i really love his character and i just wish we could see more of him, since theres are some Genma who get ressurrected regardless how many times theyved been killed in battle💁🏻‍♀️ ( Gargant appearance in DOD after Sam killed him in 鬼武者3 intro ) so its possible we can see more of him if Capcom allows him to💁🏻‍♀️💯

I think Gargant appeared in the Oni Gate in DoD because he is a former Oni, and the gate is apparently a prison for Oni who were corrupted by the Genma, which is why Marcellus also made a brief appearence. Gogendantess is likely a full-blooded Genma, so he wouldn't have been there, though it could be argued that he along with other Genma could have been revived during the last moments of DoD thanks to the Omen Star, which we've seen did for both Rosencrantz and Claudius

What I meant was it may be possible for Gogendantess to be revived after his deaht in Nagoya Castle like Claudius and Rosencrantz was because of the Omen Star. Sorry if I worded that poorly.

If you dont mind me going off on a gargant oni3 thing. I think the intro took place like the day before the first battle with nobunaga, hence the damaged ninja armor, then the time stuff happened and jacque was sent back in time 10 days before that event. Met sam on his way to face nobunaga and changed the course of history. Instead of finding the ninja armor and climbing the tank and fighting gargant alone, i think instead they found the oni army orb and that genma invasion jacques faces on ground level was the same genma invasion army as seen in the intro. It would of been cool if the legs of the big bug tank were walking by overhead in the game and Gargant came down as a boss fight for jacques. But they continued on to fight nobunaga, but this time past sam died future sam returned and went oni and etc. Anyway, so if im correct i think that means that the Oni3 intro is erased history, only existing in future sams time paradoxed memories. And Gargent ended up not dying after all. The bigger question is, why cant i fight gargants big ugly bulldog guards in any of the games! lol

@@VikingVern7 That would make more sense, but Dawn of Dreams may disprove that theory, since Gargant appears within the Oni Gate alongside Marcellus. Since it exists to contain Oni that were corrupted by Genma, and that it stands on the brink of Hell itself, it's likely it's own section of the afterlife designed specifically to prevent those corrupted Oni from being revived, which confirms that Gargant is actually dead. Definitely an oversight there, which could have easily been fixed by adding one last section with Jacques and Samanosuke fighting Garhant near the end of the game.

I think back to Tenkai's conversation with Soki in Onimusha 4 The Oni Mansion is home to the Oni who couldn't control their power. I can see a scenario in which Soki and Dantas end up there.

I think Arin said that it was Oni who were corrupted by Genma, not those who were simply unable to control their power, so Soki wouldn't end up there since he was never corrupted. As for Dantess, there's nothing suggesting that he is a former Oni like Gargant or Marcellus. The only solid information we have on his past is a document in Onimusha 2 that says "A young swordsman of the demons and three evil soldiers ventured into the Sacred Place and destroyed them all" suggesting that Dantess was born a Genma, so he would never be locked in the Oni Gate since he has no ties to the Oni.

@@DanishThePenguin Well......So much for dream of bringing Soki and Dantess back if they make a fifth one finally. One can hope. But while it's on my mind, I think it's great to see such a big fan of this series. You're definitely well versed in it. Far far better than I am and it's criminally underated. I loved it. I remember beating the 4th one thinking while this is a solid ending, I still wanted to know what happened with Samonoske and Jubei. They still had unfinished business.

btw i really wanted to confess this is it just me who like’s Dordio’s the much 😍🥰💁🏻‍♀️ the modified version of the Dordo💁🏻‍♀️😅 i mean their weapon was also badass an upgraded version of the Dainsleif😍💁🏻‍♀️…aside from its spinning blade like features it uses some sort of energy wave which makes it so cool and that severe health damaging drilled kill to the ground where he will pin your character while drilling you relentlessly depleting alot of your vitality 💁🏻‍♀️💯 i hope we can cover that in your future videos bcoz that creature was really unique compared to others💁🏻‍♀️

Remember that Jubei absorbed his soul... so technically Gogandantess and Jubei are one.
