What if the south didn't have slaves. Have Georgia's ban on slavery from when it was first founded never get overturned and become part of the state constitution then have other southern states follow. I'm not a historian and this is a wildly unrealistic scenario but I think you could make it work.

If that happened then the US would have been booming economically a lot sooner. In the south, cotton would have been picked by people that would actually get paid to do it, which meant a much healthier southern economy, which might not have exactly generated cotton as quickly as the North Wanted, but would have potentially lead to faster mechanization of the agricultural sector, leading to more efficient cultivation and picking. From there the south might adopt more textile industry on its own as the north begins to focus on minerals, metallurgy, tools and machinery production, cars, pharmaceutics. Furthermore, with the south more industrialized, petrol might have become a southern industrial boon much faster. Also the system would have been much smoother. Also less tensions between W people and B people. This might see a faster rise in socialism though, since industry would be more advanced.

I have some questions to the last one, what exactly do you mean with dictator? Like dictator -for life like caesar? Or just a temporary dictatorship like it was usual in like rome. (I'm not really sure how carthaginian politics work so i'm using rome as an example), and do you mean like what if Hannibal became dictator during the second punic wars or afterwards?

@@markothechadsharko Carthage was an oligarchic republic, similar to what Rome's government at the time had been. As far as when: After the Second Punic War, Hannibal did get elected Suffete (chief magistrate) where he did some good, but was forced into exile by his enemies in government. That would have the potential of making the Third Punic War less of a one-sided affair if he prepped up before Rome came back. Another possibility is having him take power after being recalled to Carthage before the war ended, in 203 BCE. If he felt things were going sideways (a they actually did) and wanted to avoid that, he'd stage his coup before the Battle of Zama. thus changing the arc of the war.

I think the chances of success would have been slightly higher if Himmler had approached Stalin. Still close to zero, but higher than compared to the Western Allies. Stalin wasn't known for his morality and was paranoid. So an alt scenario where Himmler approaches Stalin, who then comes to some kind of agreement with Himmler would have been marginally more believable. Feel free to play that scenario through.

Exploring a timeline where WW2 had a continuation war. As opposed to (or in addition to) a proxy like the Korean War, looking at a world where the Allies went after the Soviets after the fall of Germany. Of course there wouldn’t be an appetite for more war - but there were many, like Patton, who sought to nutralize the Soviets ASAP. What’s unique is that he US for the next decade would be the only nuclear power.. they could truly take on a global hegemony if they sought it.

As an alternative history scenario suggestion: During the Eisenhower administration. What may be the effects of the US perusing a realistic free trade policy (maybe not exactly free trade but at least setting the foundation) with these blocs. US-NATO US-Australia-New Zealand US-Japan (perhaps expanding later to include South Korea and Taiwan) And perusing a timeline of the US attempting to create a unified economic treaty. Also add in a spicy idea of potentially pursuing a unified western bloc space program effort under NASA with treaty members.
