For those who don’t know about world war Z, you can also play like you want. There are “cheats” in the game that you can activate, or make things harder for you. Or more fun. Example, you can turn off all special infected and triple the normal zombies while making hoards more often. Get your normal zombie experience with that. You can put melee weapons only or special weapons only. You can have a gold unkillable zombie chase you throughout the entire map, or make headshots not work. And the reason you would like to activate the harder modes, is because you get more points to unlock stuff for your kit/characters. This game allows you to have the fun you want. You can go try hard with max difficulties and double the special infected, you can. There’s some fun cheats too but I can’t remember them at the moment. But world war Z is super fun vanilla, or add experimental/chaos settings to change up the game.

Agreed, while the whole "zombies destroy humanity" thing is usually the easiest to write, I always love zombie stories that show that humanity refuses to back down and instead starts actively living, way more enjoyable imo when there's more hope involved.

And he was talking about a South Korean zombie movie where they would lure the zombies into public arenas with the use of drones and then drop cruise missiles. So he made the sin of saying that the movie was better than the book and then he confused two entirely different movies

A clip of the montage shows zombies being lured into a stadium while the loudspeakers are blaring and ends with a drone strike on all the zombies in the stadium. If you want to see what I’m talking about just look up the ending montage of the movie.

To comment on the "Freaks" name, it's for the game Days Gone, and they're not zombies or undead. They are more like a new species of humans, ones that eat plants as well, need to drink water, and sleep, so it adds whole new ways of interacting with these enemies that simply don't exist with zombies I'm sure you can think of some creative examples of this Days Gone is basically World War Z but open world and with a heavy focus on characters and story and mothercycles I'm always gonna recommend this game to absolutely everyone It's on PlayStation and PC

I play this game every other 6 months or so. It's great fun! Love the horde defense sections when literally hundreds of zombies charge and you mulch them down as just 4 people. Getting consecutive headshots in the traveling sections feels really good too.

This game and its community is still alive and thriving. Most players online though play the hardest difficulty which is Extreme, thats why it may seem that the public matchmaking seems empty. I have over 600 hours logged playing this game, and until now I still play it cause its just so good!

If zanny likes horde shoters, one i suggest is warframe. I have over 300 hours in it and i can say its fun. Everything is free and if you're willing to grind you dont have to pay for a thing, i personally have unlocked about 60% of all things in the game casually, not specifically trying to get things, without spending a cent. Best way i can describe warframe, is destiny but if the devs cared.

Played it with friends, it looks good at first but after a few missions you will see that it becomes repetitive and boring with the guns taking an incredibly long time to upgrade and the class skills require a lot of grinding too, the melee system is not well made either, there are no “real” weapon customizations, you just pick a skin that looks like it has extended mag and scopes etc and the game doesn’t tell what stats will for the gun so it’s a gamble and you will have to guess when you pick up the gun in game, not to mention the guns have skill trees that are obscenely expensive to upgrade and the the only way to level up the guns is using a ton and even you use the same gun from beginning to end of the mission you’re not guaranteed to get enough xp for it for even half a level, not to mention that it’s gonna be near impossible to upgrade the better weapons since they only become available near the end if the mission, and there’s also literally no reason not to pick auto turrets and electric fences for defense since they’re op and virtually infinite because all you have to is go to them and press and button and they recharge, also the AI controlled teammates are incredibly stupid so it makes it hard to win if you play solo, also the difficulty curve is pretty ass since the game is either too easy or too hard and only a handful of zombies will die per magazine so we deleted it, another shadow of left for dead

The name "zeke" carried over from the book, which is the original source material. IIRC, they know that they're zombies but the military simply used the letter "Z" as a codename for them, which created a military jargon where the zombies are referred to as "Zeds." Over time, veterans started to refer to zombies by the name "Zeke." Unlike here in the game where they're referred to in plural, those who referred to zombies as "Zeke" would typically only use the name in singular, as if every single zombie was the same person and there was almost a sense of familiarity to the term. They'd talk like "and you know, Zeke is always like this and that" or "Zeke always does that and this" as if Zeke was this person that they knew; a mutual acquaintance. It was a sort of coping mechanism, where veterans of World War Z would essentially humanize the enemy in order to not think about how fucked up the whole thing was. You're right that it feels forced in the game -- like a way to not use the word "zombie" -- but in the book it doesn't feel that way. They recognize them as zombies and use the word plenty and the name "Zeke" is just a psychological coping measure. It works really well.
