But what US officials don’t care to admit is that Israel is not thinking about an end to the military phase, and a beginning of a civilian reconstruction plan, argues Nathan Brown, professor of international relations and political science at George Washington University.
Brown tells host Steve Clemons that Israel has purposely designed the carnage in Gaza to be a “forever war” - not as something that will ever be resolved, especially with a “blank cheque” from the US.

Because it never was just that "October 7th happened" - it happened because of the cumulative long term result of occupation and subjugation of the Palestinian people for decades and decades - not in a vacuum, not unprovoked, not because the Palestinians had ever been given respect or regard by Israel. No reasonable or fair minded people would not resist the levels of control and domination by another country that has invaded and taken over all of life in their country. The majority of the world has soured on Israel, because of their actions and behavior since 1948, because they see themselves as the "chosen", those worthy of life, freedom, self determination chosen - and have shown no mercy for their neighbors, no humanity for the humans not them. Until that changes there will be no peace, no equity or justice for the Palestinian people. Really interesting interview with Professor Brown. He did say the possibility of some form of Warlordism in Gaza. First time anyone has mentioned the word. Though the possibility of “ Warlordism” may not be limited to Gaza. Warlords may appear in Israel and Judea-Samaria, the West Bank, as the extreme political parties vie for power and domination. At the same time as the Israeli economy stagnates leading to a massive fall of GDP giving rise to the possibility of state institutions failing and collapsing.
