Really loved this video because I never thought about this concept in such dept myself. And let's hope for this system to actually be implemented in Kathmandu. Improvement in part-time culture is so badly needed, and yes this approach will help foster the culture. But above all, I wish we could convince +2 students after their high school final exams to take up menial part time jobs as waiters and such before venturing into the corporate world of their own niche. It's so hard to convince them that the experience in such small jobs can be very very valuable for any future profession as well. Not to mention, many don't like the idea of serving people. Well you don't get to be kings at your first job, do you? Put your back into it. Be independent.

It is really optimistic to think we could pull it off anytime soon. Those mentioned cities are megacities which have economy bigger than Nepal itself. I don't think the urban layout that Kathmandu or any other Nepali cities has provide feasibility to have 24 hour economy. Plus I don't think we can handle other resource consumption like water, fuel. It is all about getting used to it - hospitals have been operating 24 hrs for ever -- why cannot other relevant businesses ! That being said, foundational infrastructures such as street lights, public transportation, reliable security are fundamental to envisioning a 24 hours city. Modern 24 hours city must harness the vast potential of information security in it by itself and for aiding the development of other rudimentary infrastructures (such as public wi-fi phone, CCTV etc. to enhance the overall security posture) which are preliminaries to a city that never sleeps yet is fresh, welcoming and vibrant !

That's not how it works.. A systematic night life supports proper shift management.. That means there is part time job or shift separated for different employees creating more job opportunities... as someone who has had sleeping disorder in the past i stand strongly against 24 hour economy. it disrupts the natural sleeping cycle of the people due to excessive light pollution and sound pollution at nighttime. nighttime is supposed to be peaceful resting time naturally, and going against it is going against laws of nature. that ultimately results in anxiety and depression among youths due to due to excessive sleep deprivation. it is already a big problem that big cities mentioned in video have been struggling since long time. so ultimately it creates huge mental health problems among youths and meddles the laws of nature.
