What if the Jedi went after Palpatine BEFORE ROTS? I know what you're thinking, he hadn't revealed that he was the Sith Lord yet, why would they do that? Well, firstly, they had, in canon, recently found a trail leading form the sith industrial lair on Coursacant to 500 Republica, so they knew that SOME of what Dooku had said about Sidious having some sway over the Senate had to be true and that the Chancellor could well be involved. But even WITHOUT this, Palpatine by the time of ROTS had already amassed tons of power, effectively making him an emperor in all but name. Tons of Senators like the Delegation of 2000 were pretty worried as was the Jedi Council. So what if, like the Roman Senate with Julius Caesar, the Jedi decide it best if, Sith or not, that Palpatine was forcibly removed from power for the good of the Republic BEFORE the kidnapping of the Chancellor in ROTS and the defeats of Dooku and Grievous?
