The album was released December 1982, so it would have been 1983 or 1984. The Victory tour was basically the Thriller tour. He didn't need to tour, his album was flying off the shelves regardless.

U forgot that MJ was having health ploblem during them times as well and it wasn't that for being the artist he was now like usher and Chris brown ya they got to a lot lol we talked bout MJ not local artist.. tours map out albums perfectly and Sony did allow him do so much and even tho he owns sum of the was still control on certain shit with him as well.. but he still won at the end

Normally artists do a tour so they can promote their album even more. But Thriller was the best selling and biggest album of all time, and during 1984 it remained number one for a whole year. So I don’t think mj really needed to a Thriller tour. His performance on Motown 25 amplified his Album and overall success. And if you take time to research, Mj never actually wanted to do the victory tour, it was something his father had a say in.

WOULD have been late 83 more likely 84. You wouldn't got to see thriller as he wasn't performing that because of his religious ties at the time still. But it would have looked alot like the victory tour minus Jermaine's solo set so take that out ,add maybe a pyt...or baby be mine...maybe something from off the wall we never got like can't help it or on the floor and boom thriller tour 84.
