Mistakes in the Video: It was pointed out to me by 8bitAlex that the Poem Number system the way I have it set up could actually be exploited to get two girls to near max, which shouldn't be able to happen. One immediate thing I can think of to adjust this is to implement Negative Numbers in the system after all. Going Negative wouldn't lower any stats, but you would have to work harder in order to get back into the Positives to be able to gain the girl's benefits. I'll have to think more on it, but as I have it in the video, it would need to be re-balanced.

To be fair, DDLC has a secret, better ending that can only be achieved by exploiting the game’s mechanics (via save-scumming) in order to complete all three girls’ routes, which the player “shouldn’t” be able to do, so that makes sense within the context of the game.

I just had this idea for Monika's Palutena's Guidance conversation. It starts with Pit asking for advice on how to fight only to get no response from anyone other than Monika who tells him that they're not fighting, she just wants to be his friend. She'll give a few subtle hints to how some of her attacks work like "My friends may show up soon, but they might not know how to get here all that well, so don't be surprised to see them pop up out of nowhere." , or "My pen has been leaking a little today so sorry in advance if you get splatted.", and so on. Occasionally, Palutena's and Viridi's voices will suddenly jump in and out with them trying to warn Pit of what's really going on, but their voices are staticky and distorted, like something is trying to block their connection. Pit eventually catches on and wants to leave, but Monika says "So soon? But I thought we could spend a little more time together. Here. A L O N E."

The grab concept is hilarious, just imagine. Ridley, the ruthless space pirate, sitting down with a young high schooler. Ganondorf, the king of evil and holder of the triforce of power, being knocked flying from Monika waving goodbye to him. Bowser, who can survive practically anything, standing there and then DYING from a small girl lecturing her.

Small suggestion: each of the taunts has a rare glitch version. For Sayori, the poem Monika is handing her glitches and becomes a random object, like, idk, a rope or something. For Natsuki, once Monika takes her cupcake, her eyes become black clusters of pixels for a split second, and the remaining cupcakes phase through her tray and fall to the ground. Then she immediately snaps out of it, and looks confused for a bit, but pops out of existence again before she can question anything. Yuri is a tricky case. Perhaps she just displays a wide eyed wicked grin for a second instead of ever giving the book she holds to Monika, instead holding it up to reveal the ominous eye symbol on the cover. Yet again, confusion, then ceasing to be. But a true genius would have these features already be canon without telling us a thing about it XD

Here's a few changes I'd make to the moveset: 1. Perhaps as the match goes on and as such her facade is wearing off she looks progressively less ignorant as to what's really happening. 2. Her victory theme could be one that goes on infinitely being a piano cover of the main theme. For the third victory animation it would be the "Just Monika" theme. 3. If the Final Smash ends a match the third victory screen would be guaranteed. The match would end differently though. First off, the opposing characters would be deleted. Then the music, then the stage, then the background, and then it's just you and her. She spawns a room, a table, and starts the "Just Monika" theme. She says "Now there's no more distractions" and things progress like the normal victory screen except there's no extras like the losers clapping, the place icons, etc. 4. Not a change but I was progressively more and more on board with your ideas as the video progressed. It's pretty clever and fits the theme of DDLC pretty well!

I had an idea regarding Monika's Side Special. You said that Sayori is basically a Projectile for that move. Meaning she can be reflected. Well, what if, if she is reflected back at Monika, and Monika is facing towards Sayori, it actually automatically activates her Side Smash, since that move is literally Sayori running into Monika falling over. This would give Monika further control and pressure for her opponents, making them second guess reflecting Sayori back at her.

Now I can just picture Monika learning that she can make copies of her friend's files, just to start a "Manga *IS/ISN'T* literature" war between an army of Natsuki and Yuri clones while a swarm of Sayori is just in the untouched space reading and chatting while completely ignoring the war going on between the other two(-hundred) girls. Monika would just be hiding under the teacher's desk looking like she's just having "War" flashbacks or something (This wouldn't take place in the same timeline where she makes the other girls disappear)

I recently notice something with the thumbnail of this video. All of the other video's have a yellow background with black stripes, or a black background with white stripes for villain characters. I wish she would have tweeked with more "out-of-game" status effects, like maybe something that reduces foe character's weight by 8 units, with a max of -25 units per stock, or something that rotates/shifts their model & thus their hitboxes to be angled by 15-ish degrees to the right. Their movement & hitbox would stay the same, but it would look like the game is glitching a little and would throw off their moves as if it was... a bug?

I'd suggest two main changes: 1. Switch the Smashes and Tilts, to make it easier for tilts to combo, and because Smashes can charge (the other girls wouldn't really make sense to "charge"). 2. The girl whose attributes are half offense half speed should probably be all defense (knockback resistence) instead.

@@jamesjoe1690 Sayori was balance, since she acts like the moderator. Defense works well for her too, since she's always trying to help the others and brighten their days. Natsuki was speed because she's the outgoing one who's quick to respond. Yuri was power because she spends time to refine her poems to make them better. As for combo game it would probably give her a good scooping up tilt like bayo's, but the Down tilt would definitely be worse for combos. Neither forward option seems like a combo tool, so that's a moot point. Charging the smash attacks could have the other character appear next to her, maybe grayed out like their sprites are when they aren't talking in DDLC, so its like they're in the background in smash.

Well this is not a video I thought I needed but here we are anyways. Sound moveset, like always. Now back to the part where I pester you about videogame characters. I forgot if I asked for this before or not but eh, might as well. The Hunter from Bloodborne! The Trick Weapons would make for a really fun moveset, the many consumables and Hunter Tools could be interesting specials, a stamina gauge mechanic could be implemented, and maybe even the fan favorite Parry mechanic. Counter-hitting gunshots cause a crumple like Focus, anyone? For the Final Smash the Moon Presence could descend on the enemy and make them the new hunter's assistant. Could kill at 100% too. For no. 2 we have, quite aptly, Dan Hibiki from the Street Fighter series. He would be another Ryu clone, but all his specials would act so fundimentally differently that it's really not the same character anymore. And whenever you see this three part format, I'm sure you know exactly what's coming. So uh, you know, Ajna, Indivisible, sorry for your time.

I like this moveset. This is the type of moveset that does the character justice without needing to rely on the technical aspects of the PC game, outside of the final smash which is fitting. The overall moveset shows personality in terms of creative concepts and execution, especially the moves involving her friends. I can imagine making a full moveset for a character like Monika was not easy to think of; I had the idea of the mouse cursor being the method of grabbing, almost like Luigi’s plunger grab, with the jumpscare being a forward throw, but that was about it.

If I had to suggest something, I think that it could be cool if for Yuri being the down special, she would act more like a counter; she would appear reading her book, but if an enemy attacks her and Monika when she's active, she gets startled and accidentally slashes at the attacker with her knife. I've been looking forward to the day you'd get around to making a moveset for Monika. Personally, I would have the moveset be similar to Pokemon Trainer, with Monika in the background while the other girls are the actual fighters. Considering that Monika's whole deal in DDLC is that she's relegated to a background character while everyone else gets all the attention, I think it'd be incredibly fitting for her to just be an NPC while her friends do the actual fighting, but then she would pitch in for certain attacks and do things to screw with the opponents. For a standalone Monika moveset though I really enjoyed this, and I'm really happy that you found a way to incorporate the other girls into the moveset without having her just swinging their corpses around of something. That being said...Sayori, Yuri, and Natsuki movesets would be pretty neat to see.

Great moveset as always. When I saw the character I was kind of expecting meta jokes like you did with Undertale characters. Probably just as well that you didn't. One tweak, I'd make her down smash bury only if you're caught under Yuri. After all, Monika has a bad habit of using her power to make her friends look bad, and this would be her way of calling Yuri fat. Man what a strange moveset, I totally dig it! If I handled this moveset, I feel like instead of status effects I would have put a lot weirdly strong or disjointed hitboxes to play more into the sort of shock factor of ddlc, like you expect the move to do one thing but it does something totally uncalled for, like for example, maybe for monika’s down tilt she would just sit down and cross her legs, but it would have a super powerful spiking hit box directly under her or something strange like that, just because if monika was in smash I feel like she would flex her superiority a little bit. A suggestion for chance attacks: Side tilt: The knife Monika uses has a chance to be the silver Handled, blue bladed Yuri knife which will do double damage and a stronger poison effect. Forward air: The flyer used will be the creepy Yuri poem which will stun the opponent in place. Up air: The poster slapped up on the glitched mess will change every time it’s used. It will change from club advertisements or random pictures. But a rare one will be a poster of Sayori’s suicide which will be the strongest poster. Up special: In a small chance Natsuki will appear standing on a rolling chair and then Natsuki will promptly fall off the chair and throw the manga in the air and the chair will shoot out from under her acting as a second projectile. Side special: Occasionally Sayori will appear depressed and walk by slowly but if she comes in contact with an opponent they will take major damage. Down special: The Yuri that appears will be insane Yuri. You will be able to tell by her facial expression. She will have a crazy grin and her eyes will have an insane look. Coming in contact with her she will take out a knife and stab the opponent causing them to trip and take poison damage. I thought it’ll be an interesting idea for those attacks because of all the chance encounters in DDLC.

Since Psyconauts 2 recently released I'd love for you to do a "What if" video on Raz. He has some really cool abilities that would translate well to a smash moveset. His taunts would be really be easy to figure out from the get go. They would be the Bobby Ziltch victory dance and the water arm that appears when Raz when he comes into contact with a body of water.

Ideas: Jab Attack: If an opponent perhaps attacks Monika from behind while the Jab is being used, Monika can turn her head to the behind opponent and side kick them back due to peeping over notes common to be treated as a Counter move. Dash Attack: If an opponent would happen to try and shield off the Dash Attack, the Attack alone would almost do enough to completely break the shield by 50% from plowing through the crowd of fighters. Side Tilt: End lag would have Monika wrap the opponent’s injury with the ribbon to aid the opponent but in reality it’s actually electrifying the opponent due to the knife’s scrapping on the fabric’s electrons. Up Tilt: Perhaps from reversing controls of the joystick for fighters, it would instead have a Home Run Bat effect if opponents get caught in the bubble’s hurtbox. Down Tilt: It can work as a Counter Attack, once an opponent reaches to be very close to Monika she would then push them away with the hand holding the pen hindering the opponent with slight sword/cut damage by 5.0%. Side Smash: Sayori in the Side Smash can sort of work as a projectile in a state of matter like this; If Monika happens to use the Side Smash while standing near a ledge Sayori would fall from the ledge and acting as a falling projectile, opponents off the battlefield and below that get hit by Sayori’s bum would get spiked to the ground on impact and Sayori would vanish before dying from falling out of bounds saving her death. Up Smash: When an opponent gets lifted by the first hit the opponent will be prone to being stunned by the secondary gimmick hit leaving them vulnerable to great damage and stock loss if over 70.0%. Down Smash: Since Yuri is much more Plus Sized than even Monika if an opponent were to perhaps get hit by Yuri’s projectile on ground they would get buried into the ground upon impact leaving maximum proximity to stock kill if over 80.0%. Neutral Air: If being used mid-air and a projectile is used against Monika while Air Attack is still intact instead of damaging Monika it would Heal Monika instead like Ness/Lucas/Mio Gunner’s Down Special Move “Absorbing Vortex”. Forward Air: When being hit with the tip of the promotion flyer the opponent is at risk of serious sword/cut damage from papercut. Back Air: Opponent’s being directly hit with the tip of the love letter would be put to sleep from passing out over being so embarrassed and shy leaving to be very vulnerable to stock killing over 60.0%. Up Air: If opponent’s get directly hit on the Center of the flyer it gives a Home Run Bat Effect, being slapped in the face with a flyer would definitely be leaving opponent’s flabbergasted. Down Air: Opponent’s would take rapid sword/cut damage if caught in the Down Air Attack like Mio Swordfighter’s Side Special 3 “Chakram” and fall to the ground from so many injuries. Grab Jab: Instead of waggling her pointer finger she instead pokes the front oak lobe of the opponent’s head like she’s bossing around with them. Forward Throw: Kick in the privates, no hesitation. Back Throw: She would hug the opponent while spinning around in circles and let go from being dizzy. I'm thinking of a lil visual gimmick for Monika. well more specifically, the other three dokis. the more buffed their moves are, the more blush is seen on their face when their attacks are used. but when one doki is maxed out, the other two randomly give Monika a look. kind of like how some mods have a gimmick where the ones you don't go out with get jealous or mad at you. no the look doesn't have to be "you didn't love me how could you" more of a nervous smile I know Monika cant have relationships with the other dokis, even in the mods, but it would be a nice touch.

Better yet: Have the Dokis look at the CAMERA instead, as if to look at you directly, as Dating Sim Characters tend to look at you, their love interest.

To honor the release of the long awaited sequel Psychonauts 2, I suggest Half-grulovian Circus Acrobat turned Psychonaut (Junior) Agent, Razputin Aquato! I see him as a very complete character, having both psychic tricks and athletic skills from his circus background. He'd have obvious stuff, like a lev-ball Up B, some PSI blasts for range, a disjointed jab made by his Psychic hands; But he could incorporate some more, theatrics, like an up-tilt where he would juggle some pins, flips and spins for aerials, have him roll on his lev ball like a clown if the Up B is grounded, and many more! After all, you know what they say about acrobats: They always bounce back! (or something about being flexible, I'm not sure).

Great moveset as usual BJ! I've been playing a lot of Google doodle games, and I'd love to see a moveset for Lucky from Champion Island and Momo from doodle Halloween 2016 and 2020. I hope a lot of people play champion island so it'll get more requests, and appreciation, because that game is legitimately an awesome experience
