Mufasa would have been heavily injured, therefore would have taken time to fully heal, allowing Scar to believe he is dead, perfect for a sneak attack when he is 100% to take back what's his. As for Simba, I think he would have told simba of Scar's betrayal, and asked him to keep his still being alive a secret so he can execute his sneak attack at the perfect time to not only take back what's his, but to also kill Scar to prevent him from trying to kill him again.

The second they made mention of kiara meeting Kovu as cubs, Kiara's first hunt and Kiara and Kovu getting together that canonized the lion guard the lion guard just revolves around Kiara's brother Kion sure we don't see him in the lion king 2 but that is because the main focus is on Kiara and by the time of Kiara's first hunt as we know Kion wasn't there because he was getting help at the tree of life. Well, even if Mufasa survived the fall and the stampede, he would still be too brutally injured to move, and Scar could easily make propaganda saying that Mufasa was a traitor and tried to fake his death.

Fair point. But what if Simba didn't run away and decided to return to the Pride Lands? It's more likely for the lionesses to believe Mufasa's son, who witnessed the fall and stampede, than his lying brother. And if the lionesses really needed proof, they could see (or smell Scar's scent in) the holes in Mufasa's paws from Scar's claws. That's if Simba were to live, of course. Sorry for the long paragraphs of info! I just like theorizing/thinking of possibilities. 😁

Technically, not only was Simba next in line, they also know he loved his father, despite his antics. Knowing Simba is on his father's side, and since the pride was very loyal to Mufasa, I feel like it would be more likely for them to believe Simba based on their established trust with Mufasa. However, there could be a split in the pride for who trusts Scar and who trusts Mufasa, having a similar effect to the splitting of the pride right before The Lion King 2. However, the outcome of that battle would probably be much more bloody and tragic. What do you think?

@@ThePsychicClarinetist What you said is likely, and it could lead to two events. 1. Scar and his hyenas lead a purge of the pride lands. Basically, anyone and everyone not loyal to him and him alone are killed, similar to how Stalin purged the army of anyone that wasn't loyal to him. 2. A bloody civil war occurs between Scar loyalists and former Mufasa loyalist, in which both sides use their military might to the fullest. Either way, there would still be death, similar to the actual timeline, however the timeline is altered slightly between the two.

Unless he gets cornered and pins the plan on the hyenas again, they likely wouldn't turn against him this time, meaning he would have more of an army and a better chance at winning.

I think if Mufasa survived, he would tell Simba the truth, but be too weak to fight Scar right away. So he could actually play dead, telling Simba to hide until Scar disappears, then they wouldn't have a choice but to leave the Pridelands for a while. In this version, Mufasa would meet Timon and Pumbaa along with Simba, stay in the jungle for a while until either Mufasa is fully healed or until Simba is fully grown. Simba could still learn the many lessons he had missed because of Mufasa's death, while also learning the idea of Hakuna Matata. This is based on a fanfiction that I read that is currently in progress.

Because logic doesn't exist in a lot of movies, especially Disney movies. Disney movies are designed to be bright and colourful and full of songs and have a relatively simple story to follow. Disney movies are aimed at children not adults. Children can't think like we do yet. Their brains are still developing. And I think this particular Disney movie has enough in it to keep children interested and asking questions. The Lion King has always been my favourite movie, and as I got older I started to understand it more and see certain things in the movie that I didn't understand or notice as a child. Also, how is Simba going to explain all that? He loved Scar, and he idolized Mufasa. He thought Scar was just his weird Uncle, and that he had his back. He had no idea that Scar hated him and his father, had no idea that Scar planned for the hyenas to attack him and Nala in the Elephant Graveyard, or that Scar planned that Stampede. Scar knew exactly how to manipulate him into believing the Stampede and Mufasa's Death were his fault.

Yes, I do believe there was no possible way Mufasa could have survived long enough to remain king (which proves just how brilliant Scar's plan was). It had to Simba, who needed his time away from the pride to mature and rise up against Scar. But I will say that a last minute stand between Mufasa and Scar where the roles were flipped and the former loses would have been ironically epic.

If Mufasa survived his brutal fall then Simba would’ve never met Timon and Pumbaa because he would’ve never been chased away to the desert. Scar would’ve been banished or even killed for attempting to murder Mufasa indirectly. This also would’ve even prevented the death of scar because he blamed the hyenas for mufasa’s death so that he could convince Simba that he wasn’t him, causing the hyenas to betray and brutally murder him. So therefore, many things would’ve been completely different if Mufasa survived.

I always imagined Mufasa just springing up and slashing Scar's face in anger and leading to the two brothers battling; and though I would prefer Mufasa claiming victory, I see Scar overpowering his injured state and killing him. Simba, Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed watch as the new King triumphs and Simba is incredibly frightened that his father, his hero, his idol is struck down before his eyes. Scar would no longer have an immediate reason to kill the Lion Prince but would most likely decide to do so as to prevent Simba from one day challenging him and seizing the throne or he would give him as a reward to the Hyenas and Simba would be killed. As he runs through the thorns, his uncle shouts out his final words that would leave him traumatized 'You will never be Mufasa!' Simba meets Timon and Puumba and stays with them. In his paranoia, Scar would send Hyena after Hyena to find him but they wouldn't for years; this might lead to the Pride Lands thinking the Lion Prince died but Scar, Nala, and Raifiki believe otherwise. So eventually full grown Nala gets to Hakuna Matata, fights Simba, they reunite and fall in love, she tries to convince him to come home and face Scar but he refuses due to his fear of dying in failure. She continues to urge but he says he can't, they argue and Simba ends the argument by saying 'Because I'm not my father and even he couldn't stop Scar.' He leaves, meets Rafiki, gets encouraged by his father's spirit and decided to go back. The battle ensues Scar and Simba fight where is either exiled or killed by Simba, most likely killed. And the Circle of Life goes on.

I think that's what the fight between Simba and Scar represented. The fight between Mufasa and Scar that we never got to see but effectively did get to see. Mufasa at his peak was powerful Scar wouldn't even dare challenge him but he was comfortable challenging Simba cause I think Simba at that point when he faces Scar is how strong Mufasa would have been if he survived the gorge fall

I always thought that If Mufasa had survived, he would have woken up after Simba ran away. and Not remember that it was scar who tried to kill him. Scar would pull some lie or another about what happened and Mufasa, although wounded, would have gone to look for simba. but goes the wrong way. Scar returns to Pride rock and claims the throne. Simba meets Timon and Pumbaa.. etc etc etc. Meanwhile, Mufasa sees the Hyenas attacking something small and races in. believing it to be his son. It`s not. It`s a Meerkat who`s also searching for her son. Timon`s Ma. Grateful for this Lion saving her life. Takes care of him while Mufasa heals and regains his strength. In the end, They team up and go searching. Both Arriving back in the Pridelands in time for the final battle.

To me, it depends on how Mufasa died originally. Was it the fall, was it being trampled by dozens of wildebeest, or was it both? Now you may think "Why does it matter which option killed Mufasa?" I say it's because it would've determined how "functional" Mufasa would've been in the aftermath. Being trampled or crushed under your own weight and by the forces of gravity cause different types of injuries and therefore how mobile you are in the aftermath. There's also the factors of how high up the canyon wall was where Mufasa was a when he fell and how fast he fell from the top of the canyon to the bottom of it. My explanation may be horse crap to you but it makes sense to me.

I think it was probably both. I don't think fall killed him but he might have been unconscious or badly injured from it and then he got trampled by hundreds (Possibly thousands) of wildebeasts which killed him.

I think one of the original drafts of the movie actually had Scar raising Simba when animals of the Pride Lands saw Scar hold Simba in his mouth about to kill him but they all thought Scar had saved him during the stampede. Would be pretty wild to have seen that.

It would be very cool to see your take on it! 2) What if Mufasa lived but was knocked out? What if Simba truly believed he was dead and so did Scar, but it turns out Mufasa was still alive? If his breathing was too heavy from the fall/stampede, then this wouldn't be possible. But what if his breathing ended up being so light that somehow his cub and his brother didn't know he still lived? A slim chance, but I thought it would be another interesting possibility.

If Mufasa just held on the less step side of the cliff and just waited out the stampede, he could have survived in pretty much perfect fighting condition, so he will be able to take on scar if he tires does something bold. However, I think Mufasas greatest mistake was trusting his brother to help him, even though he knows that his brothers is very jealous of him. Also this will only delay Scars plan, since he will still try to find another opportunity to kill Mufasa, which will result in Simba being banished from his home.

I would have been amazed to see Mufasa fight for his son in the gulch. All that adrenaline to fight for his son, he could have survived. Fight or flight mode is very powerful especially in the animal kingdom.

I actually recently founded an au rpg where Mufasa survives and exiles Scar and the hyenas under bane of death. The rpg is basically about life in Pride Lands after this scandal and the threat of Scar looming over it. Only, in the rpg Mufasa doesn't fall but is able to pull himself to safety at the spot where he dropped Simba. If anyone is interested in writing interactive stories in this setting, I can give the link to the forum. (It's a play-by-post forum rpg.) Anyway, the scenarios you came up with here are interesting and some very chilling. And I'm definitely going to watch the If Scar raised Simba video. I think I saw a thumbnail of it some time ago unless it was someone else's. In any case, I'll take a look into your channel, you seem passionate about TLK which is always great fun!

I think that the story would be pretty much the same. If mufasa survived the fall he would be to weak to fight off scar. Then after scar killed mufasa he would send the hyenas to kill simba. The only difference is simba would know that his uncle killed his father, he would go tell the pride, but even if they believed him it's in a lions's nature to follow a strong male leader. I would say at least half of the pride would still follow scar even knowing he killed mufasa, they just wouldn't follow a cub and with half of the lionesses and all of the hyenas they would crush any resistance. Then simba would still have to go into hiding until he was strong enough to lead a pride.

I just wish mufasa was alive for a little more, laying on the ground and try to speak, warn simba but only says “s...sc...a..r... s...i...m...ba... he... did... this...” Simba gets confused what mufasa meant and then mufasa dies. later on scar realizes mufasa told simba, scar didn’t know simba was confused then attacked mufasa’s body to keep him from speaking. Later on scar chases simba so he won’t tell the lionesses.

Mufasa being alive in the lion king would change the whole story. If he survived and healed up, Scar would be exiled for treason, Simba wouldn't run away and Timon and Pumba probably wouldn't have even been in the movie.
