One problem: If Qui-Gon lives, Dooku doesn't join the Sith. Qui-Gons death was the catalyst for that.

Not really. Palpatine already had his claws into him as seen in Tales of the Jedi. The deletion of Kamino all happened DURING Episode 1. Qui-Gon's survival means Dooku might have been easier to turn back to the light. But his fall started well before Qui-Gon's death/

Qui-Gon's death was important to his turning against the Jedi but he was already on his way out the door, so to speak. If QG had lived he would have tried to bring him with him, though QG wouldn't have followed him into the Sith order.

My favorite things about Qui-Gon Jinn is that he understood the true meaning of attachments despite what the Jedi Code says and that he did not follow the ways of the Jedi Council but instead he followed the will of the force.

I got three words for this: What. A. Story. This is genuinely incredible, bro, a timeline of Qui-Gon living and becoming a father to Anakin never and Anakin being the Jedi he meant to be, and Obi-Wan being the brother Anakin needs and being the Jedi family what it meant to be. What I found this AU more enjoyable is having Maul redeemed. For there are youtube channels with Maul being brought to the light side, but they are not impactful on what you did with Maul for the journey, and his character arc made him grow as a better person. I would love to see a sequel to this where Maul becomes a grey force user, Anakin leads the Jedi away from politics, and Mother Talzin pulls a Reva move on Maul similar to what Reva tries to do with Vader from the Kenboi Series. Anyway, this is a great story, my friend; keep up the fantastic work, and may the force be with you!

Yellow lightsaber blade is the colour of the Jedi Sentinel. Qui-Gon is a Jedi Consular and you don't change your Jedi class once it's established. His blade would stay green.

This starts off wrong immediately. It's because of the dark side the maul is able to keep fighting, knowingly slowing qui-gon down at the same time luring him into a small space where his form of lightsaber stance limits his attacks. Palpatine wouldn't be afraid of maul ratting because he never told maul anything.

A cool story and very enjoyable. The changes I'd like is to see are anakin and padme getting together around 5 years after palpatine's death. Thus luke and leia skywalker are born. What the jedi Council do about it is anyone's guess. I'd like to see a period of deep reflection and contemplation on attachment amongst other things. Also going deeper into the jedi archives than is usual for standard operating procedure. Kind regards from Daniel Harman.

Obi-wan was a better teacher. Qui-gon did not have time for two. It would have been a darker timeline in which Qui-gon had more trouble constraining Anakin than Obi-wan. He was an old man at the point where Anakin turned passably adult.

Obi Wan was already grown…..nothing remained but to take the trials. A six month overlap would not have been difficult for Qui to juggle. Qui Gon was very much a better choice to train Anakin. His mannerisms and experience made him far more of a father figure and less of a cocky big-brother and that’s precisely what Anakin needed….someone to confide his struggled to rather than a brother to complete against. If Anakin had confided to Qui-gon that the force was giving him visions of his mother dying ……he would have packed up and flown to Tatooine that afternoon….not told him that dreams pass in time. If Anakin told Qui-gon he was afraid to loose someone…..he would have asked him who and why……not pulled a little green goblin version of Elsa and told him to “let it go”. Anakin’s young adult angst was never dealt with because every time he tried to seek help…the stodgy bastards brushed him off with empty platitudes and Jedi wisdom instead of acting like friends and helping him.
