This is a great alternate history scenario, US of Z. If Russia had joined the British during the American Revolution, things would have been different. There would have been no French Revolution or Napoleonic France, meaning no Napoleonic Wars. Excellent work, my friend. No matter what happens or what anybody says, you make the best content and never lose sight of what you love doing. You deserve respect and recognition for making these videos; I mean it! I have some ideas for future videos. What if Ceasere Borgia had lived, united Italy, and restored the Roman Empire? What would a united Italy and restored Roman Empire be under the rule of the Borgia Family? What if William the Conqueror had conquered Paris and unified France much earlier and was set on conquering England? Would a medieval French Empire under the House of Normandy rise earlier, or would a Plantgeant Empire occur? Would this Empire have a king or emperor? What if the exile and death of Catherine of Aragon sparked higher tension between the Holy Roman Empire under the Hapsburg Dynasty and the Kingdom of England under the Royal House of Tudor? What if her death of being poisoned by Herny VIII is accurate, and would her death be boiling for a potential war between the two nations? Which countries take sides, what could change the course of history, and how will which nation stand victorious? Which of these ideas do you like best, Mr. US of Z? Which ones do you like best, and explain why this is your favorite.

Okay, after watching this, it has to be one of the best alternate history videos I've ever watched. The story it tells is really goddamn cool and the point of divergence and the way it butterflies European history away is really unique and drastic! I'm so glad you didn't go with the generic ''and this changes so much that it becomes simply impossible to predict what happens next'' ending for the video, instead offering an exciting cliffhanger. Would love to see how this story continues, this Anglo-British-Austrian entente seems like a really strong and interesting alliance, and Russia's preemptive expansion to the mediterrainean... Welp, _you don't see that everyday, do you?_

Speaking of Russia What Ifs, I have one: What if Russia was more aggressive in its colonial ambitions. For example, taking more from China in a few wars, maybe launching an invasion of pre Maiji Japan in order to subjugate it, participating in the scramble for Africa or expanding Russian Alaska before the British reach the Pacific.

You’d need to have a Russian leadership that realizes the futility of expanding westwards and eventually shift eastwards. Earlier conquest of Kazan Khanate in the 1530s, followed by the conquest of the Nogai Horde, and even an earlier war between Muscovy and the Ottoman Empire that leads to a Muscovite conquest of the Crimean Khanate. It is also necessary that Manchuria in its entirety has to fall a lot earlier, or have the Muscovite state befriend the Four Oirats or their successors, the Dzungar Khanate.

“By the British Parliament” Not by the Crown. I fixed it for you. By that point, and since the 13th century, it was the parliament that levied taxes, not the crown. And ever since the 17th century the parliament claimed supremacy in the British constitution over the crown. Even our founders recognized that it was the parliament to blame, not the King, read the book the Royalist Revolution, it’s a good resource on the subject.

My dude, The Crown is a corporation sole, it is the state in all its aspects in English Law in the context of the Anglo world. It literally refers not only to the office of the monarch, but also the monarchy as institutions. The executive is the Crown-in-council, legislative is the Crown-in-parliament, and judicial is the Crown on the bench. Everything from the Rule of Law to governance and the civil service is The Crown as an aspect. It is, in the American understanding, literally The State. Parliamentary supremacy, is a mere catchy term to describe the fact that since the mid-16th century, the "King in Parliament" holds supreme legislative authority was established. What that meant became the subject of two competing theories of interpretation. The Royalist view was that the "King, in Parliament" is the King acting with the consent of the Lords and Commons, but ultimately exercising his own sovereign authority. The Parliamentarian view was that the "King-in-Parliament” is a composite institution of the King, Lords, and Commons acting together. This is what the main dispute of the civil war was. Evidently, the view that won out in the end was the Parliamentarian view, thus the Crown-in-parliament *IS* Parliament, that is to say, the King, Lords and Commons. In a Parliamentary system, the executive and legislative are intertwined, ministers are drawn from the legislative and also sit in the legislative. In other words, the Crown-in-council and the Crown-in-parliament are intertwined, ministers are therefore part of the Crown-in-council and yet also the Crown-in-parliament. The King himself is both a part of the Crown-in-council and also the Crown-in-parliament. It is also government ministers which control the day to day business parliament, Law is only Law after it has received Royal assent and the executive powers of government are that of the Royal Prerogative. His Majesty may not, by recent custom, sit with his Cabinet or personally involve himself directly with the day to day business of government and policy, yet, it is still His Majesty Government, the Cabinet may sit without the King, yet it is still His Majesty Cabinet. As King Charles II once said, "my words are my own, and my actions are my ministers." At the End of the day, the King got the blame because he is the ultimate authority, yet his ministers are mainly responsible as it is their doing that lost the colonies. If the great rebellion had been crushed, then a compromise may have been made, a Dominion named, New England or Virginia or North America or America. At one point Virginia covered all of the eastern seaboard, New England once included New York and New Jersey, and originally covered what was once called Northern Virginia. Its not to hard to picture the colony of Virginia being re-named to Chesapeake Bay and Virginia being used as the name of a unified Dominion, or the term New England being extended to include all 13th colonies. If the Dominion of New England had survived, then its likely more colonies would have been added to it like New York and New Jersey had been.
@aaronfire359Ай бұрын
@ a very detailed explanation describing what I said in brief more or less. The dispute, in my opinion as a royalist, is whether or not the Kings will is synonymous with the actions of the legal institutions you describe. Perhaps, perhaps not (describing of course the present kabuki monarchy). Ultimately it was the parliamentary concept of monarchy and Whig governance that cost the empire the American colonies. A concept that empowered the gentry and nobility at the expense of the King, only for them to loose it all in the end to the commons, first in 1911, then in 1997. Vast amounts of time I know, and far removed situations, but they do all connect in a line, later events with roots deep in past decisions.

One think you forgot to mention is that Russia taking Minorca would mean permanent hostility with Spain. Given the fact that the French Revolution would be completly different, it means no nopoleonic invasion of Spain, and thus, Spain stays as the 3rd or 4th world power (Russia, France? bc revolution, Britain and Spain). It means Spain stays strong and would not tolerate the russians holding part of its core territory, a mayor oversight. Also, Spain had the 2nd or 3rd biggest fleet, so the russians would not be able to compete in that regard, thay don have admiral Nelson to help them beat a stronger and bigger fleet.

It would never have happened, not unless Britain put a lot (and I mean a LOT) more on the table. Everyone else in Europe hated Britain due to its high-handedness after the Seven Years War, and Catherine in particular organized the League of Armed Neutrality in order to make things more difficult for Britain. The continental powers were happily watching with glee as Britain was knocked down a peg. Even when the War of the Bavarian Succession broke out, it fizzled out since no one wanted any distractions to that might help Britain break out of its isolation. So, no Minorca would not have been enough; frankly, I can't see anything that Britain could conceivably offer that would be enough to entice Catherine (who would very likely take whatever was offered and then just renege on the offer anyway - what could Britain do to force her at that point?)

I personally disagree on the aspect of the French Revolution being extremely different in the sense of them lacking a republican identity. As even the American Colonial revolution needed to take inspiration from somewhere, and their own grievances paled in comparison to the French. I think this French revolution would have made a far more Roman like Republic. The Republic would perhaps even be comparable to an early Modern Dictatorship, or simply adopt the Roman's Consulship, 2 Executives ruling for 1 year terms disallowed from having consecutive terms, or even a third form of rulership (council oligarchy perhaps?). They probably won't take on the secular path the historical revolution did, but given the grievances also extended to the Catholic Church, it still may. But I think the French Revolution would still take a very Republican stint.

Not pelased with the foiling of the American revolution but it is interesting to see what this alternate timeline would turn into. I do wonder though if another American reevolution attympt could Occur in this alternate timeline later down the line and succede? I'd like to see an Alternate origan of the USA or a USA like natio nwith a simular constitution but under a differant circumstances or period of time. After all sometimes we look at history itself and see examples of alternate history within actualy history you know. events that reflect what could have happened if things went a certain way at another point of time. So Say that the American revolution did fail at the time it took place but then another one was to take place later on down the line. Maybe even involving land bought by the brittish from the spanish and settleres where sent in that way. Ideals of an american identity would still reamerge again and somehow new figures would enter into the scene with ideas simular to the heroes who failed before them. In this alternate timeline however there would be stronger NATIVE American confederacies soem that could become potential allies for the revolutionaries otheres that might maintain an alience with the Brittish power. Perhaps in this alternate timeline something akin to the American Civl war could even simply be replaced by this new move of indopendance and slaves could be offered freedom and equality by the new rebelion. The war would end in more of a tie however of loyalist vs Rebels with Rebel terriotiy being recognized as it's own nation and would set up it's own simular version of the American constitution with one differance recognizing citizens of other races's rights. 4th of July might not become the day of indopendance as was in our own timeline sadly but we would have a day of indopendance marked somewhere on the calender. Where ever the new revolution would rise likely being in the new further west coloniseis would likely result in the new nation being set there and likely needing to expand somewhere.. It could even be possible that the State of Texas itself could have even been part of this new revolution. course I will end this off here because this crazy alternate timeline would then need to have toconsider what else is going on in the world and what other crazy changes might be taking place. Asumin a Russion revolution could still take place but I'd like to think that Russia might get some african colony or something right beforee that happens, resulting in the birth of a new nation right before Russia goes through it's own crazy episodes.
