That would be the best time for Neji and Sasuke fight and display their most powerful abilities like Chidori and the 64 Palms in an equally matched fight.

@@zspider1778 Base Sharingan > Byakugan. This is a FACT. The only reason why the village rate the Hyuga Higher is cuz many Uchiha never achieve the Full Base Sharingan or Sharngan in general. But at base, the Sharingan gives way more. Thats why all the debates around the Sharingan vs Byakugan are at the Chunin Exams level when Sasuke didn't have all his Tomoe. Once he does, he out classes Neji in every respect. Additionally the Base Sharingan can go further into MS or EMS. But the Byakugan is stuck as one thing. You can improve your vision a bit more over time but outside that the user themselves have to become more powerful. On Top of that the Uchiha's didn't really have a need to activate their eyes in peace time. If the wars continued, the Hyuga's would be no where near the Uchiha. Only 1 Clan could Rival the Uchiha and that is the Senju Clan NOT the Hyuga. But Rant aside. Really wish Kishimoto gave the Byakugan an additional upgrade. That way Neji could be in a shippuden discussion.

I mean it’s somewhat debatable but 3-tomoe sharingan really is probably better than Byakugan lol. Byakugan let’s you see chakra, see chakra points, gives you 360 degree vision, and let’s you expel chakra from any of your chakra points. Sharingan still allows you to see chakra and the chakra network (just not chakra points), gives you superhuman reaction time and LITERAL precognition, allows you to copy and understand jutsu as they’re being cast (taijutsu included), allows you to put people under genjutsu via eye-contact….like man it’s not even close. Don’t get me wrong I think the Byakugan is sick and I wish it was developed more but from what we ACTUALLY SEE in the show 3-tomoe sharingan is just a lot stronger. Sure if we go off of some random statement in early Naruto, it’s narratively implied that the Byakugan and Sharingan rival each other….but there’s a lot of stuff that is narratively implied but never actually becomes a thing. It’s narratively implied and even directly stated that Hiruzen was the strongest Hokage in history for example, but that quickly gets retconned into Minato being the strongest, and then later it gets retconned again to be Hashirama

There is a lot wrong with this breakdown. For starters, sharingan does not increase reaction speed, it slows down the fight and opens opportunities for attack. Byakugan is stated to be stronger than Sharingan by Kakashi for many reason, and I don’t think Sasuke’s sharingan at this level would be able to evade every single gentle fist attack. We have to remember that Neji basically has a one hit KO option at this time. This would most likely eliminate Chidori immediately and leave Sasuke to rely on speed and taijutsu. Sasuke would not be able to blitz Neji like he did Gaara because Neji has 360 field vision and a complete rotation defense. There is no way you can fight a taijutsu match against a Byakugan user and expect to win. Even Sasuke and Neji at the beginning of this show have differing levels of power, but Sasuke would most likely opt for long distanced attacks and keep space, not jump into taijutsu territory and expect it to be easy. That was the sole reason Neji was always better than Lee, and while chunin Sasuke may have been stronger than Lee because of sharingan & chidori, I don’t think they would’ve played a huge role seeing as byakugan is better.

Neji's taijutsu is way more faster than Lee, he was on par with minor Gates Lee, and Sasuke could not do anything with that speed. Naruto's with Kyubi amp was on par with base Curse Mark Sasuke, that means that the only way that Sasuke could defeat Neji is using the curse mark.

Neji's speed is on par with Minor Gates Lee, when Lee fought againts Gaara Neji didn't looked surprised when he activated gates 1 and 2, so, Sasuke has no chance againts Neji's speed and Taijutsu. Byakugan gives you precognition habilities, is not his main feature, but it does, and a Chidori would not hit Neji, because he has just to dodge it, if you dont have the speed to catch your Sharingan then is useless, and that was stated by Lee before the Chunnin Exams

Ok sasuke always uses taijutsu in a fight. Even if you say they are relative neji has a better form of taijutsu which with one hit can mess up sasuke chakra flow which would lessing his blows. Side note neji would have no dif that sound 4 ninja neji litterly speed blitz him and use 64 pams before he could react and the only reason he lived was bc of his organic armor he has which was not made from chakra unlike garra sand armour. Yes i do think neji has faster reaction speed and more experience especially in taijitsu plus sasuke copyed someone neji beats regularly. IMO, Neji wasn't surprised at Lee's speed, as he's very aware of Lee's training. Only when Lee started opening up the Inner Gates that shocked Neji. Neji was probably weightless Lee speed himself already. What most fans seem to forget is that the Hyuuga also have a "secondary" Kekkei Genkai... the ability to expel chakra from any parts of their body (Gentle Fist), and thus with the Byakugan, will negate Sasuke's ninjutsus. Neji is aware that the Uchiha's specialty is Fire element, so all he need to do is just manipulate Sasuke's chakra points enough, while going hand-to-hand, that once Sasuke spits a fireball, there's too much chakra and Sasuke will blow out half is face off. If Sasuke somewhat as the opportunity to pull out the Chidori and misses, all Neji has to do is just do what he did with Hinata and just shut off all those chakra points... or do the inverse to increase the chakra flow and Sasuke's arm will blow off like Zaku's. Then there's just the regular Gentle Fist that Neji uses. Sasuke, even with the Sharingan, will be in peril. Sasuke can't block Neji's attacks as it will cause internal damage, and even slightly dodging will still cause damage. Long range attacks will be useless and any clone technique that Sasuke has (he doesn't know the shadow clone technique) won't work against a Byakugan user. Once Sasuke is unable to manipulate chakra, he's finished. Neji takes this one.

Neji bodies Sasuke 10/10 times. His speed was enough to beat Rock Lee every time they sparred. Yes, the 5th gate speed surprised Neji but Sasuke only has Lee's base speed. Neji either matches this or surpasses it. Lee himself stated it was his trump card to beat Neji, implying he felt inferior in every way against him. This eliminates all the taijutsu training Sasuke did, even if he surprised Neji and got around his gentle fist taijutsu a kaiten would repel any jutsu Sasuke tried. It was hyped being stronger than Gaara's defenses. This technique repelled the frickin 10 tails for christ sake. Sharingan arguments are invalid because Neji matches his speed or surpasses it, also Sasuke only had 2T Sharingan. See his fight with Naruto for example, pre 3T Naruto was lapping him, it wasn't as good at reading movements. One strike to Sasuke and it's over, the CS isn't Kurama and nor does it function as such, he has no backup chakra to revive him. Sasuke has some long range jutsu but fire style is easily kaiten'd away. He can't win a battle of attrition as he doesn't have the ability to spam clones like Naruto did. People seem to forget what Neji's taijutsu does. Sasuke cannot approach him. At all. Neji was = or even stronger than Naruto with the Kurama chakra he had, the same form that bodied Gaara btw. Naruto won because of a clever trick. Neji should have won the fight 10/10 times but he was a cocky POS. Naruto won on pure plot armor. Kaiten feats are amazing, see later chapters for a real demonstration and Neji's kaiten was the most powerful, he surpassed the main branch of the family very early.

Neji wins mid to high difficulty but definitely wins unless Sasuke's curse mark works like the kyubi Chakra, which we really don't usually see it working like that. Sasuke has more and better ranged options but Neji has his rotation. Range does nothing for Sasuke. Maybe fireball would work since fire isn't really a physical projectile like a kunai but Neji is smart enough to dodge if he can't rotation it away. His byakugan means Neji can not be caught by surprise. Dygo really underestimates Neji's speed. Sasuke is fast but Neji is at least as fast. Lee is exclusively a taijutsu specialist with very little Chakra feats and presumably only the most basic Chakra control, Neji shouldn't reasonably be able to shut him down with his eight trigrams and is definitely able to hit him at the very least. Even with Kakashi's training, I don't see Sasuke having that kind of speed. Sasuke could mimic a pre or very low gated Lee without weights, both Sasuke and Lee could get past Gaara's sand, and Sasuke was implied to directly mimic Lee's movements in the fight, but either, might guy seriously nerfed Lee in every fight with Neji before the exams (I'm pretty sure it's heavily implied they fought before and they are a year older than the rest of the konoha 12, so probably took the exams once already), or Neji could match Lee with the gates. The chidori is also unlikely to work well. If we assume Neji is anywhere near Sasuke's speed, Neji could just dodge. Chidori has a lot of prep time required at this point in the story and Sasuke isn't going to hit Neji by surprise. Even if he does, it probably wouldn't take him completely out of the fight, Neji took an arrow that blew a hole straight through his shoulder barely a few weeks later in-universe and won the fight afterward. The 8 trigrams meanwhile cuts off Chakra altogether if it hits. Sasuke has no defense against that, like at all. It hits even once and Sasuke is out. The only possible way for Sasuke to win if that happens is the curse mark and that is only debatably even canon for giving extra Chakra like that. At this point in the story, it backfires at least as often as it helps. This whole scenario dygo presented underestimates Neji's abilities quite a bit, underestimates Naruto's kyubi amp, overestimate the chidori (powerful yes, but very straightforward and only useful if your speed far outmatches your opponent), and the curse mark's reliability. It even manages to underestimate kidomaru's clever use of webbing to slow down Neji (rendering rotation moot) and Lee. Just turns into another Dygo thinks Sasuke could stomp anyone wank fest. That said, yeah, post time skip Neji would be useless against Sasuke, especially knowing how Neji's Chakra blocking works.

I agree that sasuke would penetrate nejis ultimate defense. However against kidomaru neji did not use his ultimate defense against kidomaru's arrow. Was because the only way for him to he able to attack kidomaru. Was to use his attack on the string of the arrow. Allowing him to surpass the distance. Letting him attack kidomaru without being close range. Neji is a close range fighter. If he did not obtain that long range attack. It would be super difficult for him to even get close to kidomaru in the first place. So, he had to sacrifice by letting himself get hit. In order to harm his opponent. I have two different results of this fight and mind and just like everyone this result depends on if Sasuke fights Neji before or after his training with Kakashi: Before the training i can't see Sasuke winning, it would be a veeery close fight in where both sides give EVERYTHING, Sasuke is incredible at taijutsu + his sharingan makes him a guy that can actually go against a gentle fist user, Sasuke's mastery of fire style would be a tought thing to pull off against Neji because with rotation it just cancels everything, so this fight would pretty much be decided by who is the better close distance fighter. After the training i can't see Neji winning, it would take Sasuke to go all out yes but there's no scenario in where Neji beats him with his new speed + the sharingan to have control of that speed and witht that speed he could actually catch Neji by surprise with ninjutsu before he activates rotation similar to what Naruto did.

I disagree. Sasuke on the valley said that Naruto using the Kyuubi chakra was so fast that, even with the Shaingan, he was unable even to see his movements (it wasn't when he fought Lee that he coudl see it but was unable to react in time, he couldn't even see Naruto's movements), and he was only able to react to that when he developed the three tomoe sharingan. Neji could not only see but also REACT to Naruto with the Kyuubi chakra. Yes, Naruto's eyes are not tiger-like, but he is still using the Kyuubi chakra, I see thi more as a creative decision since it is never explained. Sasuke reacted do Gaara with the Shukaku partial transformation, yes, but it was never established that the Shukaku partial transformation makes Gaara very fast, if anything it is only clear that it gives him a lot of strenght. So Neji outclass Sasuke in speed by far. Sasuke cannot fight Neji in close range because: 1 Neji is faster, 2, Neji can block all his chakra points. So he needs to use long distance combat. The problem is that Neji can use his rotation to block any of Sasuke's long distance attacks (kunais and fire), since Gaara was able to block them and Neji's defense is better then Gaara's in power. The two only things left for Sasuke are the curse mark and the chidori... The chidori cannot work because, like Minato said, it leaves you opened, so you can only use it if you are faster then your oponend, which is not the case. So Sasuke can only win (maybe) if he uses the curse mark. Poblem is: 1 he doesn't know how to use it yet during the chunnin exams, 2 even if he manages to use it Kakashi will stop the fight. So Sasuke looses. Assuming he is able to use the curse mark, would he be able to defeat Neji? Hard to know, we have no information whatsoever about how much stronger and faster you get with the curse mark, and Sasuke have only curse mark level 1 at this point. Snce curse mark uses natural energy could it give him a boost in speed comparable to Naruto's boost with the Kyuubi chakra? Mayybe, but we cannot know. f so, then he can win, if not, then he looses. And I disagree about Sasuke winning at the valley as well. Sasuke would probably loose because of speed agains at the begining of the fight. If he managed to use the curse mark or unlock his three tomoe sharingan (unlikly, he only unleashed that because of his emotional response to his fight with Naruto, and Neji meant nothing for him) he could win, but that would still be a very difficult fight.

I think that all those who usually compare achievements do so in the wrong way. They always say that Sasuke managed to pierce Gaara's armor when Lee couldn't with punches, and that therefore Sasuke does better against Gaara than Lee. This is stupid, Lee would kill Sasuke in that state. Sasuke openly admits that he needs to boost his Chakra to reach Lee's speed, not to mention that he only reaches Lee with the base state, without Gates. Lee's problem is that his attacks were basically blunt impacts, which are resisted quite well by Gaara's armor, while Sasuke's attack (Chidori) is a piercing attack. Obviously a piercing attack penetrates a shield better than a bludgeoning attack. Following the scenario: Lee sees the use of the Gates as necessary to be able to defeat Neji, which has always implied that in his base state without weights, it is not enough to face him. That means that even if he doesn't know exactly what Gate his speed is enough to confront Neji, at the very least Neji can react and nullify any attack from Lee at base speed. Other things that people don't usually take into account are: -The incompatibility of Sasuke's attacks against Neji. (Following the example of the piercing attack, Sasuke's attack is basically a straight line attack, one that can easily be countered by Neji's rotation and/or reflexes. rotation cant be pierced by chakra. the show makes ot clear that simply only a chain reaction happens when chakra clashes and then repels back. there is no real offensive chokra based long range Justu that not at kekkegenkai that should get through, but even even ice style or also should nor since its purely chakra,maybe wood style might get through but definitely not lighting blade. it would blow of sasukes hand and send him flying,not cuz rotation is more powerful but its just how chokra is said to react which Neji shows us that when he kill kidammuru .chakra repels when they make contact. also hinata shows us the consequences when just going hand to hand with gental fist . naruto thought they were slap boxing but kakashi ,naw that shit is deadly ,u can't even handle one of them. and hinata was commended for even being able to endure that. and he know sasuke is a glasses canon

The Hyuga are known for their excellent chakra control. Couldn't Neji use his chakra to increase his speed to match weightless Lee and Sasuke's speed without issue? Sakura did that during her fight with Ino so Neji should be more than capable if doing that.

The thing people don’t get about neji is that the reason he’s able to beat lee is because he can see and defend 360 degrees which means no matter how fast rock lee is neji can defend against his attacks. So if sasuke wants to beat neji he can’t do the same thing rock lee does everytime they spar he has to use chidori and one shot neji through his defenses which he can do easily. Chidori is a piercing jutsu, a hand protected by chakra isn’t enough to stop chidori’s power

Sasuke has a very potent Sharingan. His eyes would allow him to read and react to neji's taijutsu. Even if neji is faster than Sasuke, their speed is still relative, sasuke's sharingan would have no trouble against neji. One of the Sharingan's main abilities is jutsu breakdown. The longer the fight last the more the Sharingan will find a weakness in neji's taijutsu. Sasuke also has ranged attacks to keep neji at bay for a while. Ultimately his chidori would rip through any defense neji can put up.

The thing is when Neji was first introduced he was a bit under jounin level maybe above chunin(even tho he was a genin) and he was a bit above jounin level by the end of the series. I think that Sasuke might really win, specially if using the curse mark, but I find difficult the rotation wouldn't resist the chidori. It didn't resist "Naruto with a kunai" because even so there was a great amount of kyuubi chakra, and wich was rotated back against itself, as Neji himself described, causing a explosion. And surely that explosion damaged Neji quite more than the one punch Naruto ended him with (and it seemed to damage Naruto as well). I think it would be strange if the base chidori did the same as it wouldn't be so much chakra being thrown against itself, but specially because I think the chidori would actually pierce Neji,s sphere, but by doing this Sasuke would himself be hit by the rotation before he could really hit Neji.

So the issue is comparing 1talis with the nine tails cloak in the chunin exams is that even a small amount of kurama's power is much more then Gaara could muster up. The nine tails is stronger then all the tailed beast combined an then some. Rotation would block a chidori from chunin Sasuke. As the kuubi chakra is also stronger then a chidori at the time. The fact that rotation was able to reflect a very weak Cuban tracker mode is an incredible feat. Now karma takes over when Naruto's bloodlusted that is a massive amp compared to him calling upon the QB chakra for the first time but you can't downplay the power of a community cloak versus getting level ninja the fact that neji took a head on and didn't die says something.

@@derronnelson8368 Naruto has Multiple different Mental Amps I'm pretty sure what happens is that he beats them up with the 2K Clones after getting amped and when he realizes he's running out of Chakra he looks at Sakura before he's getting Sand Coffin'd Get's Mental amped again and Summons Bunta in which he gets Kyubi Chakra after that point. And barely finishes the battle all messed up. So yeah as long as Naruto isn't that amped Sasuke beats him up. This is all a Naruto post beating up Neji and surpassing him. I also think it's likely not an issue as Nei doesn't scale to any of those Naruto's either.

The amp he gets is enough to beat up NEji once he punches him in the Databook it's stated her surpassed him. WE know from Bee that you can get stronger during fighting so it's likely if you took Whis or some god level healer healed them both up this new Naruto would just beat up Neji a bit easier with his own power you now have this Naruto getting Mental amped and summoning Gamabunta and 2K Clones so it just puts those versions even further over Neji. Neji just doesn't scale that far and neither does Sasuke mainly but Sasuke can still scale above Neji.

@@derronnelson8368 Neji just doesn't scale to 2K Clones and Gamabunta I don't know if he had Kyubi Eyes as he doesn't have them in the anime IIRC and it seems implied in the manga but not concrete. Also he Summoned Gamabunta when he got Mental Amped with a Chakra that Sasuke was shocked at IIRC the amount of Chakra or maybe that was before but he doesn't mention himself being out of Chakra IIRC although I have to maybe look back at that battle and what he did maybe I'm more comparing to some game versions and that. But the thing is not only did Naruto Surpass Neji at the punch something I've brought up multiple times the 2K and such just seem to be stronger than Neji that's just blatant especially since Gaara is in a transformed state and just implied by possibly either the narrative of progression to just be stronger and yet the 2K Clones have enough physical power to damage him. Neji just doesn't scale this high at this point in time and I really don't see why people try to rep Neji this hard.

@@derronnelson8368 I actually can just back it up by saying that Kyubi Amp + Mental Amp = Haku Fight or comparable Naruto which can be backed up by a STatement where Naruto is said to be at his Peak when fighting Sasuke in the Valley of the End when he got his Kyubi Eyes or 1 Tail which is the most powerful form of Kyubi we have seen at that point. What Naruto got on the Bridge was an Amp far higher than what they got vs Neji he really only got a bit stronger and it's seen as one of the weakest Amps the 9 Tails has ever given him. Gaara is just the strongest Enemy as well something Neji isn't regardless of how based Matchups are Sasuke did better against a stronger foe.

But the thing is and like I don't know why you think like the Kyubi Amp is that powerful as maybe it would be the bare Min Kyubi needed in itself like maybe that's all he would be able to do and most likely if he summoned Bunta he would lose anyways but that's just funny plot things. Anyways... It wouldn't matter if his thing is empty if he's just stronger. So let me make it simple for you even using the example. Let's say that Neji Fight Naruto is a 1. By the end he might be a 1.5 or 2. And the one that fights Gaara could be as high as a 4 or more. And what's crazy is that Naruto has all these clones and Sasuke despite being put in a Coma and not being much above their previous self when Naruto went through arcs and learned the Rasengan was still effortlessly dealing with Naruto Clones. So I think it's just implied that they are that powerful since you would have to assume they exponentially grew to match Naruto's training a Naruto who already surpassed Neji and Naruto's training for the Rasengan.

Sasukes Chidori is the winning factor. It makes sense that it breaks rotation, being a S-rank piercing jutsu an all. And sasuke can play the distance range game much better than neji. A funny thing I heard someone say awhile back is sasuke could use his cables to tie up neji. Um I'm legit curious here but. Wat makes u believe rotation could be breached by chidori. We have never seen it just up and penetrate Chakra. Physical objects or different. Also just positing we have never seen a full complete rotation be up and breached. The wall of Chakra Naruto ran into with kyubi was incomplete Just saying.
