My biggest gripe with the finale is how Carter can just use the stones and not have any consequences. Iron Man died when using the stones once, and Star Lord almost died just using the power stone. And the exterior suits for Carter and Killmonger that channel the stones are just part of the lazy writing, it carry’s no weight.
@therealloomar10 ай бұрын
Yeah, I was a bit annoyed by that too. However in all fairness, we've only ever seen them suffer when they did the snap, not just using the stones normally, and I don't know, maybe having access to the other stones can mitigate the damage the power stone does to the body? Overall it's not great, but not the worst thing ever

The infinity stones are such a joke now. There was a time when the presence of the Power Stone alone was genuinely worrying because the stakes it imposed were genuinely volatile. Now, they're being used to solve a Thanos problem that didn't need to exist anyway in What If, or being used as paper weights in Loki. Those stones used to mean something.

@TheRealLoomar You forgot the fact the the stones in order to wield even one required immense power from someone. To the point where a mere mortal would be killed If they tried wielding 6. Bro acting like Loki is at all comparable to anything. People complaining about Loki's joke with the Infinity stones just feels SO reachy because it has literally no greater meaning past "these guys exist outside of time itself so the Infinity Stones can't actually harm them" People treating it like its some great betrayal of their power or something is so weird when it actively doesn't make them ANY less powerful. It's literally a joke.

It's kinda like that, but instead of ansering what if questions the fans asked, it just came up with random crossovers to make hybrid and alternate characters, which is still awesome! Buuuuut when you look at all other what if characters, you notice that Carter and kahorri don't really fit this template. What if characters are meant to be an alternate version of a character, with enhanced abilities or crossed over with another hero, or the environment and mood changed. Captain Carter, was LITERALLY just Captain America but summed up in 30 minutes and cap was a british woman. There's nothing unique that comes with this blend of characters, and her powers are really just cap's, with no enhancements or extra powers. Then Kahorri ignores the template entirely. She's a completely random brand new character, who's episode doesn't feel like a Marvel thing at all, and her powers are incredibly unrealistically OP. She isn't an existing marvel character and it's not a parody of any marvel events. These two are the WORSE What If characters, and I want to punch the writers SO BAD RIGHT NOW. tldr, Carter and Kahorri aren't proper what If Characters and were undeserving of their roles in the series, and the writers made them stupidly op and needlessly important

yeah, they ruined it, but then again it was probably already ruined from the start. it is the captain carter show, what if started with her and ended with her. honestly, the best episode in the whole show for me was the avengers assembling in the 90's. it had nothing to do with carter or strange. had Antman, goliath, black panther, Thor, winter soldier, Kurt Russel's ego, and also, peter and hope bonding over their mother's favorite music was actually very heartwarming and heartbreaking. it really made that episode stand out over the idiotic, moronic, lazy, and character breaking muck. these writers just come up with the laziest ways for their heroes to win. oh, uh, lets just give captain carter all the weapons we can so she can beat the evil bad man just trying to bring back his universe. they don't seem to understand that there are rules even in the multiverse. wasn't it implied in Loki that taking the infinity stones out of there universes/timelines makes them useless and worthless? that's why they used them as paper weights. so, technically by that logic, Ultron threating the multiverse shouldn't have happened and if it did, watcher should've contacted his boss, to send somebody to deal with that sh#% instead of leaving it to a bunch of weak humans from different universes, who could honestly care less, it's not their problem and all the times the watcher could've helped, he didn't, so why help him? nothing in this show makes any sense and they just go with whatever they think fans would like to see without even thinking about the damage it could do and has done to their stories. also, there are other watchers besides the one from what if. they all monitor their own universe, why the hell is there only one watcher observing the multiverse? also he broke his oath in the first season so, the others should've hunted his a$$ down and erased him. what if... is a total sh#%show with no imagination, no creativity, no understanding of what is outside the box of mediocrity. with potential and infinite possibilities, they instead choose to focus on an overpowered female Captain Britain to appease the modern woke BS agenda. I am not interested in a 3rd season of this show, it's just gonna be more BS that's gonna aggravate me, so I'm done. I'm gonna go watch Avengers: earth's mightiest heroes now to wash my eyes out of this travesty. good day.

@@therealloomar C'mon everyone loves Dark Strange! In all discussions around What If I can't remember any negative criticism about this particular episode, only some small remarks. It has easy to follow but narratively strong premise about the hero obsession that destroys everything, without Whedon's style humor or other heroes cameos to intervene. If only we had more episodes like that...

I wish they move away from mcu characters and start using unused characters in the comics though I understand that there might be complications like if they use a character not shown yet in mcu, the writers would then have to adapt the versions of characters in what if into mcu if they would like to use them in the movies and writers would be like, we can’t do that because in what if she/he was like this and that.

Does marvel not understand that the concept of "what ifs" are one off stories that cant be done in the main timeline. Its an opportunity for a writer to tell a completely unique and different story and yet the mcu just turns it into yet another crappy multiverse plot. The multiverse stuff didnt land with audiences, most people hate it and even other IPs make joked about it but marvel is still pushing it so adamantly.

tbh i was left so disappointed with season two and its mainly because of her relationship with steve like there trying so hard to make us feel sympathy for them as if we havent seen endgame and it shit ass ending like they ruined two of there own characters carter was fine and honeslty was one of my faves early on the mcu and steve was a person who acted on the better of the people but now they completly destoyed them when steve left bucky for carter who was long dead for nearly a decade and reusing all of steves attributes through carter making her unoriginal like magority of steves character was wanting bucky back all three movies were about his journey through him with winter soldior been the prime of there relationship implying there "friendship" to be something more even chris said that there story was a love story and we see how there happiest when with eachother and carter was such a great character in her own spin off and even had a life of her own but marvel had to ruin both of them because they didn't want steve to be bi like at this point you should've just killed him off honestly that would've been better then the shit ending we had with him or better yet take bucky with him like theres no reason he could't have taken his friend with him to there time marvel went so down hill after endgame to the point they ruined characters like thor which makes me scared for spider man thank god marvel doesn't have full rights to him because hes is if not the best marvel character to date what if had potential but in marvel fashion it was ruined...

I really dislike the high stakes in this show. The idea of this show is just about parallel universes with their own conflicts and issues, not some grand all-encompassing threat. I hate how the MCU and Star Wars just try to keep up-scaling with the conflicts. Its ok to make a conflict reside in a more reserved area and not have grand consequences

I perfectly agree with this. It's what annoyed me at the end of season 1. There's so many stories that could be continued (The Wakanda - America War, The Zombie Infestation) but they keep wasting time and plot points on crossover events

It's the inconsistencies of mcu that annoy me. You're totally right in this video. Captain Carter's character re-appearing these many times made me roll my eyes. And it's not even like they're pushing "female heroes" as people like to cry about. Kahhori's episode was great. Write a good consistent character and people would love that! I hated how they portrayed Natasha in these episodes, like give us more of her maybe? How about giving us more of wanda maximoff? Like damn give us more of mantis, I loved nebula and hela's episodes respectively. I can't see captain carter other than the female version of steve rogers. In season 1 it was just what if? Captain America peggy? And season 2 was just what if? Winter soldier steve? Lost potential truly. Like its just lazy writing atp.

He does bring up a good point that will probably never be brought up again: how DID Strange Supreme find/create the Sanctum Infinitum? And what is the Forge? And why did the WATCHER, who OBVIOUSLY would’ve seen Strange go into other universes, do NOTHING (I know it says he can see the future blah blah blah) Look, as a Strange Supreme fan, this finale pissed me off. I honestly think that a better series would’ve been about the variants we see IN Strange’s Sanctum, and how he escaped his universe, and how he found/built the Sanctum Infinitum, and how he trapped these people, and how he found the Forge, and why he didn’t just go for LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE IN THE MULTIVERSE BESIDES KAORRI AND CAPTAIN CARTER. Its over, cant wait for Captain Carter: Season 3 though!!

Seeing current MCU, I won't even question on why they decide to let Cpt. Carter and Kahhori takes all the spot light But why did they really have to butcher Strange Supreme that way?! I feel like with What If you need to have stronger stories that stand by themselves. I'm not a big fan of What If just being a way to introduce alternate versions of characters to multiverse story, especially if we're going to see "What if Peggy Carter was in the MCU and did stuff that fans care about?" People care about Peggy, but in the same way that they care about Tracer. They don't care about Peggy as a character, they care about hearong her British accent, drooling over her being a girlboss, and shipping her with Steve. She had her own show, was a big part of the first Captain America movie, and appeared in The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, but people still don't care about her as a character. Dressing her up in a superhero suit for a cheap cheer from the audience over and over again is just embarrassing.

While i dont agree with everything you said i can agree about the missed pontential in this series. like the creative potential is huge and can make great storys. And also the thing with carter and how she is the main character of the show is pretty much dead on, while i liked both of the episodes about carter i felt like her story should have ended on that fifth episode in season 2 becuase the only reason why she would even be in 1602 is to give her another moment with steve on how they cant be together which i think the fifth episode soildly stated. And if there is a theme in this season it would be about carter and steve and how they cant be with eachother becuase thats what they Focused on for 3 episodes with the finale being about doctor strange and he thought carter would understand how he felt about losing his love if his life. Like come on we get it steve and peggy cant be with eachother. BUT WAIT! In the 1602 episode if i remeber Correctly carter or steve says that they cant be with each other in any world. BUT AT THE END OF INFINITY WE KNOW THAT THEY END UP WITH EACHOTHER AND GET THEIR HAPPY ENDING. I like the character but they want to push her so much as a main staple in marvel, just give her, her own show because why is she taking up slots on the season just to tell her story when we could have a story about spiderman becoming celestial. I would take that over a carter episode any day
