Read more into this coup and everything leading to 2022 if you care to know Russia's side and those Russian-Ukrainians who got completely fucked over by the rest of Ukraine. PS they made a poll and 34% of Ukrainians stated they saw the coup as illegitimated and illegal whilst 54% were in favor. Ever since those years those 34% of people (likely Russian-Ukrainians and such) have suffered persecution and in fact were almost completely BARED from public office. After I saw a video of What If the Yuzangvong attacked during the the Clone Wars "Forgive my Spelling". I fell in love with the idea that the Sith were miraculously rooted out along with the corrupted senate members and CIS members, leaving a majority of the galaxy united with a mix of clones and droids available to help secure and protect the people of the STAR WARS universe and fight back against any threat, within reason. Now if only the world would just stop being at each others throats, then this idea wouldn't seem so unrealistic.

One of the things I found really interesting from the Legends materials is that Palpatine was aware of the Vong moving into the Star Wars galaxy (in the Unknown Regions) and that was his main motivation behind building up such a strong military power with the Empire. The Republic in its current state did not have the military necessary to deal with such a massive threat. The New Republic even talked about whether the Empire would have been a better opponent for the Vong invasion, but Han Solo made a joke about how the Empire would create some massive anti-Vong superweapon and it wouldn't work when it was needed (basically alluding to how easy the Death Stars were to destroy). While the New Republic and Imperial Remnant eventually joined forces to combat the Vong, it took a long time for them to work together and trust each other. I suspect something similar would have happened if the Vong invaded during the Clone Wars as the two sides of that war had a lot of history and distrust, so I doubt they would have dropped everything to work together against the Vong right away.

As I observe political/governing bodies around the world, I can't help but wonder if the fate of the Republic would have been the same regardless of Sith manipulations. I mean, the insane levels of corruption couldn't have all been solely the work of the Sith, those susceptible to undue influences would have likely fallen to them anyway and the trade federation (from what I know which ain't much) would have likely formed and twisted as it did, and the whole issue with the Outer Rim systems just seems like a recipe for the inevitable transition into the Empire that we saw. Just a thought.

The Droid Army easily could have ran the galaxy. It's estimated there was a quintillion (10^18) battle droids by the end of the war. The Droid Army outnumbered the Republic 100 to 1. If Order 66 and the Droids were not shut down/happened, I think the CIS could have EASILY taken over without much trouble. That's a LOT of droids. It makes sense too. The Droid Army was not super strategic. It's ultimate goal was to overwhelm enemies with numbers, as we saw several times in The Clone Wars... and they could do that, time and time again, because they had a TON of droids.
@AlyssMa7rin

@andrewmaderer1989
@andrewmaderer1989 2 жыл бұрын
Eh, I always really disliked the idea that the droid army could take over easily. Yes they outnumber the clones 100 to 1, but that’s kind of the whole point of the clone army is that each one is worth 100 droids. Beyond that the strategical superiority and better weapons and equipment of the GAR, makes their chances much more compelling. I really dislike the portrayal that the Republic was “losing” by the end of the war and although I like there being stakes in the fight it just feels dumb to have such large amounts of cataclysmic victories for the Republic just to have it not matter so that it can make the fight look more desperate. I always thought it was more true to the story to think of it as almost a coin toss, like despite years of fighting and all of these massive victories for the Republic both sides were essentially back to or still at a stalemate.

Thank you! It’s like every fan of the Separatists forgets their wouldn’t even be a CIS without the Executive Council! Dooku and the Parliament may have been the government, but they needed backing. So thus they did the same thing as the Republic and then more. After the Battle of Naboo, the Republic finally began to start turning things around, though I’m sure Palpatine did his best to prevent reforms from doing too much. Finally the private sector was starting to be reigned in, albeit slowly. Then the CIS comes around and not only gives the corporations seats in their government, but gives them full reign over the military. Battle droids, ships, even a number of the officers came from the corporations. That plus the decentralized government makes the CIS a Capitalist dream! It would be inevitable for the corporations to have all the power in peace time. If the droid army could have won the war if it wasn’t being held back by Dooku and didn’t have to contend with unorthodox Jedi tactics and an army specifically made to fight it, imagine how local worlds would hold up against droid armies. Even Ryloth with its impressive resistance movement was practically taken. Now granted the Republic became the Empire and is thus an authoritarian’s dream world. Still, I wonder what would have happened if the Separatists were never formed. I can at least say Palpatine would be out of office thanks to term limits and his unpopularity in the Outer Rim. I can’t say whether Mina Bonteri, Padme Amidala, or one of their fellow senators would win the next election, but I feel they would have enough popularity in the Outer and Mid Rim to win, especially if Bail Organa and Mon Mothma convince their Core worlds and a few others to support them. The Separatists may have had legitimate concerns, but I feel they went about it the wrong way. Thanks to them Palpatine was kept in office and even if they were left alone, the corporations would be back at it thanks to the structure of the government, presuming Dooku wouldn’t have had them starting proxy wars with Republic worlds.

@@theliato3809 If the corporations only decided to sell to both sides, I doubt they would provide enough supplies for the CIS to be as effective as it was in the Clone Wars. The Separatist Council was formed so that the CIS would have the direct support from corporations and other businesses. Besides, the Separatists have little reason to work together besides the threat of the Galactic Republic. Corporations, underdeveloped planets, and worlds that are run by immoral governments sounds like a team made to fail. The 13 colonies almost did fall apart after the American Revolution and the Confederates in the Civil War had the advantage of being unified on slavery and having more power than the central government. Unity is harder to maintain in peace time than in war. I say that even with the Galactic Republic as a threat, the Separatists never would have organized themselves into an effective force without the large financial, industrial, and military backing by the corporations. They not only provided troops, but they also provided ships, vehicles, super weapons, and officers. The idealists would have lost without the corporations and in exchange for independence, they made a deal which would have just made life worse in the Outer Rim.

Hot Take: The Rule of Two is an inaccurate notion at best and an utter falacy at worst. It relies on the notion that by only having two Sith, all of the Darkside's power would be invested in them. This is disproven by Sith like Vitiate, Naga Sadow, Reven, and even Palpatine. All of these were vastly more powerful than the strict adherents to the Rule of Two, despite there being more than two Sith at the times they were in power as Sith Lords(yes, even Palpatine, who had Maul, Dooku, Ventriss, Vader and others active as Sith in overlapping time frames). Also, Darth Bane was largely unaware of other Darkside Force-Users, like the Witches of Dathomir or the Sorcerers of Rand, so even if there were only two Sith, they could never have all of the Darkside's power because, by the logic of the Rule of Two, it was being used up by hundred of other Darkside Force-Users that weren't Sith. The Rule of Two is misguided and wildly inaccurate, simply due to Darth Bane not understanding how the Force works as well as he thought he did.
@GeneralForster
@GeneralForster 2 жыл бұрын
Bane's ideology was likely influenced heavily by the sith surrounding him at the time. He probably came to see sith like Kaan as a weakness. Though I don't know how he didn't think of what might happen if both of the two sith following his rule are killed. The real downfall of the sith is that the fools won't stop killing each other.
@alexturlais8558
@alexturlais8558 2 жыл бұрын
Plus it's ridiculous, because there is no realistic way the sith could run anything with just 2 members. Even when Palpatine was in charge, he was ruling, not the sith, since as soon as he died they stopped existing.

Yeah, you mention the Rule of Two and the Sith playing the long game with their grand plan. Only thing is, the nature of the Sith and the Dark Side itself is not conducive to working for the benefit of someone else. For the Sith, there is no “we” in team. They really don’t care about the glorious future of the Sith. It’s all about what you can gain for yourself. It makes sense that the most powerful Sith would want all the rest of the Sith eliminated. It makes sense for an apprentice to learn all he can before killing his master. But Sith masters don’t seem to have much sense. Every Sith master since Darth Bane was murdered by his apprentice. I think a Sith master with half a brain might say, “Ya know, maybe I won’t take an apprentice who’s just gonna kill me someday.” Keep the power to yourself, and stick with underlings, minions, and henchmen to do your dirty work.

As an American, I have a ton of respect for the Russian People speaking out against this unjustifiable war. Unlike here in the US, people in Russia have no guarantees of safety when they protest, they are taking a serious risk when they stand up against the current regime. Much love and respect for our Russian friends fighting for what's right. Please know that many of us are on your side and hope you and your families are safe.

I mean, if Russia does actually manage to secure at least a large portion of just East Ukraine, that would do a lot in terms of both better long-term security to prevent NATO forces and bases from ever being close enough to cut them off from the Caucasus region and possibly help their growing catastrophic demographic issues if enough people can be properly assimilated.

Gotta say. By yesterday I was fully on the stand with Ukraine thing, but after a very shocking truth, I believe that what is happening is a vicious cycle that doesn't have a right and wrong sides. There is this movie you can find right here in youtube called Donbas spring (Донбаска пролет) you can copy it and put it in the search engine. It is a Bulgarian documentary, but it has English subs. It very graphically and unbiased-ly shows what the people in Donbas were enduring by their own government. No propaganda just people THAT LIVE THERE sharing their expiriences. The Ukrainian government tried to ban the movie for showing the turht. In reality Putin is defending the people of Donbas...by robbing Ukrainians of their homes and sometimes lives. Thus, this conflict must be left to the two sides to finish, not by any outside forces. Both sides have either done, or are doing very bad things. Saying one is in the wrong is straight up wrong.

@@kristopherriemer4807 lol. Calm down silly one. I'm not pro-putin or even pro-russia. I'm not racist either, very messed up and intolerant of you just to throw that out there despite not knowing me at all. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that China was such a growing threat, I wouldn't be too concerned about the prospect of Russia inevitably collapsing, which it is on track to do unless they can fix themselves. Russia has a demographic crisis. One which began under the Soviet Union to the point where it's now almost impossible to realistically fix. That means not enough young people to replace the old, a much higher percentage of men to female ratio, and sometimes semi-broadly defined ethnic Russians on track to being a minority in Russia itself. That last part is disastrous for a country like the Russian Federation, because unlike United States of America, most of their large "minority" groups are not as assimilated with the broader population and identify more with their own individual cultures then with "Russia" as a whole. Russian assimilation under the Russian Empire and later the Soviet Union in a different forms, didn't succeed. A true Multicultural Society in the most literal sense of the term, for Russia means more Chechnyas, with huge Muslim and other populations trying to break away from Russia in the bordering Caucasus region, Central Asia, and Siberia. Southwestern Russia is one of the warmest areas in the entire country and is also one of Russia's most oil rich regions. It's also located upon the great North Asian grass plains, meaning hardly any natural barriers, making it historically one of the easiest places for armies to invade. If any NATO or at least pro-western forces were ever able to be situated on Ukraine's eastern border, Russia would most likely lose every hypothetical NATO v Russia war scenario short of using nukes which won't end well for anyone of course. There's also the fact that the closer NATO or just pro-western forces are to Russia's border, the easier it is for the West to fund opposition groups and push forward with attempts at covert regime-change. Which is sort of like what happened in Ukraine in 2014, just for an example. Essentially, no matter if anyone in the West seriously believes Russia is in danger of the west or not, Russia themselves believes they are in danger of the West for those reasons. It's about understanding perspectives, instead of always being shocked, confused, and outraged when another country takes actions you subsequently couldn't predict. If they do collapse though, even partially, they'll either increasingly become a soft puppet state of China and or have all of Siberia eaten up by China. NATO had already expanded enough way beyond common security needs after the victory in the Cold War. Ukraine should have been officially designated as a neutral buffer zone that would have never been allowed to have troops or equipment from either side to ever be present on Ukrainian soil. That way it would have been at least theoretically possible to try and get Russia to help encircle China for "containment" while large-scale decoupling efforts from China hopefully begin. Narcissistic arrogance and foolishness of the West and Russia's authoritarian style and now brutal invasion of Ukraine has made that almost an impossible prospect now though. "Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda," oh well. Wait a minute... why am I even talking to you about this? You're clearly absolutely clueless when it comes to the history of geopolitics leading to the present situation. My bad. :)

The russians are not using their full destruction capabilities and there are in fact far right military groups like Azov coincidentally based on the separatist fronts this groups prospered precisely due to the life conditions... and the ukranian government and military complex is as corrupt as the russian side sadly.

I see a lot of potential in such a story because her death severely impacted both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, and with her survival they all might've either left the Order, or it would have at least been more accepting regarding love and attachment, which would've benefitted Anakin greatly
