Not exactly. There are ways to take it in a different direction. So far, Vegeta has no real incentive to go to Earth; meaning no Saiyan or Namek sagas. Goku still gets the heart virus and dies. Even if someone travels back in time to give Goku the cure, and Cell is destroyed; I find it very unlikely that anyone would be strong enough to defeat Majin Buu, provided enough energy is gathered to revive him.

Not gonna lie, I really want to see how far this series can be taken. I feel like it's different enough from Raditz turning good due to his lack of memories: this will drastically change the relationships he'll form between the Z Fighters, Vegeta, etc. But more interestingly, Goku won't be able to prepare against Vegeta and Nappa, meaning this timeline could be doomed (until Future Trunks shows up early?)

My head canon for Dragon Ball in general, is that because space travel is so refined and planets are easily accesible, the entire universe speaks the same language. Older, more isolated races like the Namekians and the Angels still speak their original languages, but also the universal one.
