Aint that funny. I thought Out of Tartarus was the one that most needed to go back to the drawing board. I felt there was too much random swapping between the main riff and the synth. Was still good effort overall.

In the first escape, in the first hallway, when the boons were first gifted, one stood. Burned by the embers of Asphodel, the soles of his feet blistered by the fires of the river Phlegethon, barred from ascension, he chose the path of perpetual torment. In his constant ransacking he found no peace, and with mortal blood he scoured the Underworld seeking vengeance against The Dark Lord Hades who had lied to him. He wore the Black Shawl of Nyx, and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him... Zagreus.

Heh I see all the comments 😉 the ambient sounds in this one are a combo of some NI Absynth presets that I liked, a real recording of ocean waves mixed with tons of reverb, a square wave reese bass making random noise (also with a lot of reverb), a quiet bass guitar, and finally a couple of homemade serum patches that play the thumping baseline and the melody (both with some heavy FX treatment to taste). I am 99% sure the DOOM Compressor is mostly FL Studio's Maximus. You can see it was made in Patcher, which means it's a custom UI just hooked into some parameters of existing plugins, tucked away under the hood. Just set the curve for all the bands to a flat 0.0dB and you should already be most of the way there. The foot button sounds like it just maxes out the Pre Gain knobs, and the rest is a series of on/off buttons. Maximus seems the most likely candidate since not only can it switch between normal and multiband compression modes, the default positions of the crossover knobs match, and it's a stock plugin included with the Producer Edition. It's also the easiest way I could find to achieve something matching his description of "200dB simultaneous upward/downward compression" given on Instagram. There might be some slight inaccuracies to my method that only Mick himself would know of, but this recipe is the closest I've gotten to the real deal.

Stygian Blade: Aspect of the Slayer (The Crucible) _A legendary slayer shall rend and tear into the wickedness of evil eternaly, till the deed is forever done_ Stats: Heavy attack replaced with a large arcing slash that deals heavy damage and instakills fodder enemies. Requires damage build up for the crucible blade to charge, else it will just be a regular slam attack albeit weaker than normal "Foolish son! You dare affront the Lord of Hades with this accursed blade?!" "Relax old man - a friend of mine allowed me to borrow this." "Churl! Do you know of the wanton carnage of this 'friend' has wrought upon the underworlds!? Enough! The longer I let you wield this blade, the more bloodthirsty it becomes!" Adamant Rail: Aspect of the Slayer (Super Shotgun) _Old friend, we reunite knee deep in the darkness, to rise against the eternally doomed_ Stats: Clip reduced to 1 but its a super powerful shotgun blast. Special replaced with a long ranged tether that drags Zagreus into foes and briefly stunning them "How quaint, the son of a god reduced into wielding the arms of a lowly mortal against his father." "Hey, this 'mortal' was quite a badass you know?" "Indeed... it has spilt the blood of countless infernal beasts. Enough talk, lets see if this arm could stop me from ripping and tearing out your soul back to Styx..."

"Slayer Gates" isn't the actual proper title of the track. Its proper name is "Meathook"
@gautieryrondy4769

It was at the beginning. It's under this name that it appeared in the files of the game a few update prior I believe.
@HeliosDrive
@HeliosDrive 3 жыл бұрын
@@gautieryrondy4769 The only reason it was called "Slayer Gates" was because a bunch of randos associated it with the Slayer Gates when they were thinking up of a name for their trailer rip videos. If Mick Gordon calls it Meathook, it's meathook.
@DeviousKid45
@DeviousKid45 3 жыл бұрын
@@HeliosDrive No. Slayer Gates was the gamerip file. Meathook is the Official Soundtrack. Rip the gamefiles yourself and see. Plus Slayer Gates is a more metal name. Meathook sounds like some wimp got put in charge of naming a track.
@HeliosDrive
@HeliosDrive 3 жыл бұрын
@@DeviousKid45 Even so, the name of the Soundtrack mix supersedes the name of the in-game files when it comes to assigning an official name. Either name being more or less metal is subject to opinion. Even so, Meathook suits better as an overarching term (since it directly alludes to the SSG's Meathook weapon mod), not to mention how the name "Slayer Gates" is a misnomer given how the track isn't mutually exclusive to any of the six Slayer Gates in the game.

DOOM is so procedural and the enemies are like mixers and drum hits being added. Hades felt like arranged tracks while doom feels like playing DOOMJAZZ with guns.

It feels like it's missing some 'meat' so to speak, usually doom tracks have like 2 or 3 tracks of the same structure distorted, pitch shifted, and layered on top of eachother for a strange industrial choir effect. I'm not a music person so hopefully you get what I mean.
