Javan Santos Perhaps in order to crown a queen that was more visual than... well, mobile, while at the same time wanting to have a big girl winner (with the minimal backlash the show got for not crowning Ging the previous season). Also, Kimberly was pretty popular prior to Drag Race, and having her in every episode would be good for the viewership. That’s just me guessing though - we were never explicitly told why she was so taken care of during the season.

Uckey Lee I was interested to read your speculations to this question, and I think the last part makes the most sense. Going with the idea that the winning queen needs to be different from the queen crowned before her, I don’t think they wanted another “fashion” queen, even though Kim’s aesthetic was way different from Violets. But Kim had a good storyline, one they could push, and was a “bigger girl” so yeah maybe just keeping her for airtime makes sense
