What if the Soviets Won the Cold War (Alternative History)

The Cold war was the defining conflict of the latter half of the 20th century. And as all defining conflicts seem to, it begs the question, what if it had gone differently? What if the Soviets had come out on top and won the Cold war? Well here's my take!

If I got free decent healthcare, job security, cheaper house prices, I'd take that over sleep wrecking interest rates, sky high house prices, jobs that disappear the moment you sign onto them, no healthcare of social system.

I doubt the Vietnam War would last to the 80s considering how much casualties the North Vietnamese and VC took compared to the Americans. After the Tet Offensive in 1968 most of the fighting was done by the NVA after most of the VC was killed and the war became more conventional. There would be ceasefire some time in the 70s.

It would most likely be a lot poorer world than our own. However, reforms may be made in the Soviet Union as they did in China. I'm no economist, so in part two I'm going to talk more about the world politically rather than economically.

It would actually be a better World with less and less war. Socialist Economies were just fine back before the 80’s as well. The wars we fight nowadays often start due to Capitalist powers and interests. Imagine the Middle East and Africa getting funding from China and the Warsaw Pact to build up industries in many Countries with America now out of the picture? Or a more prosperous Cuba/North Korea? Or even a flourishing South America? There would be a lot more done in the World without things like profit motive and a lot less dying of starvation due to Capitalism. (Yes people die by the millions because it’s not profitable to feed or medicate them) There would be more cooperation and solidarity in a Socialist world. Same with Climate Change there is no profit motive to improve the World and so many more will die out in the future. I personally think these Capitalists who run oil companies and other businesses who ruin our planet should all face the needle.
