I just found out yesterday night that a close cousin of mine passed away in an accident. She was more like a sister to me because we grew up together from childhood. We spent time together just about two months ago and we had a great time, you know. I've been through this before. I became an orphan early on in my life, so it's not something new. I've seen death happen to people I know. But this time. I thought I knew, or rather, I thought that I was already aware of how precious life is. That it's a gift. That it can be taken away at any time. That we simply don't know when it'll be over for us.I thought I already had a decent awareness of all of this. But this just made me realise how real it is. I mean, I've always had a feeling that death is not a bad thing, and it's not something to be feared. But now I realise that I wouldn't want my time on earth to end knowing that there wasn't one time in my lifetime that I gave it my all. It reminded me that there is a continually ticking time limit with my name on it and that every moment that I breathe is a gift in itself. Every moment my heart beats is invaluable. And for my cousin, idk a lot, but what I know is that all that happens is for a reason. She was young. She was so young. It even feels tough to use the word 'was' while talking about her. I may not know everything. But what I know is that God took her for a reason. It was her time. Just like it was my dad's and mom's time. And soon, my time will come. And what matters is how I use this gift I have right now. How we all use it. For we don't know when our time here will end. And for the world reading this right now. Do everything that's good for you. Every doubt that lurks in your head; wake up every day with a mission to prove those doubts wrong. The internal one and external ones, too. Life is a gift. We think that it's normal to wake up every day. To end the day in one piece. It's really not. Every day is a gift. I want to live this way. I really hope you do too. I hope you find peace Joyce. It'll be alright. Let us make you proud. All the love.
