In the save data, there is a field called "follower", and it can be ceroba, martlet or none. It's not possible to have both of them without outright modding the game sadly.

Day three of asking to experiment with NaN values I've messed around in cheat engine with them only doing hp and max hp though. Max hp destorys your health bar in battles and makes it so you can't heal using save points unless closing the game. NaN hp makes you completely unable to die / lose hp causing a softlock on pacifist ceroba if the value is not changed and I still am waiting for my soul to completely leave the screen and never turn back on that one so I still don't know how it's actually spelled. Actually is this the one thing you HAVEN'T done in undertale? I'll lay out some questions. 1. What happens when you have NaN gold as it's treated as nothing and everything at the same time based on HP 2. What happens when there's other things that keep doing damage to you till you reach a certain hp value other than ceroba which has it's shaking effect shake your soul so hard that you leave the battle box, you can't actually explore there though because your teleported around. I tried to use the buttons with that but failed. 3. What if you just keep waiting for a very long time like with that video I saw about sans and asirel's animation breaking after a super long time which I have yet to relocate. 4. What if a monster has NaN hp. I can't think of any other questions for now. If you have a super high hp like 1e100 the damage will magically increase to a point where if you wait a while you'll actually have your hp end. If there's anything else I think about I'll add them later.

When experimenting with Marlet following into the Steamworks, I met Ceroba, and both of them followed Clover. Then when I got into a battle, the game didn't have code to handle Marlet in a battle, because that normally shouldn't happen. So it just kept her in the edge of the screen.

you see, in Toby Fox (and Toby Fox-like) games the game doesn't expect the need of adding characters to the cutscene if they're already supposed to be there (for example, in Deltarune if you have Susie in your party during cutscenes where Susie would appear later would crash the game, same as not having Ralsei in cutscenes Ralsei is supposed to be at from the start due to being your party member) also, Ceroba joining you only at that elevator could probably be explained by the fact she usually gets separated from you right before Axis (which is right after that point), joins during, and is still walking with you after (or the fact it is a cutscene that actually adds Ceroba, since she enters the elevator after you do) the game attempts recognising you being on pacifist, and triggers pacifist cutscenes due to you being in pacifist-exclusive rooms, but lack of Ceroba breaks them, and the room she would normally leave you was in a neutral run variant, causing Ceroba to stay as her leaving is a pacifist cutscene, so you wouldn't trigger it (and Ceroba leaving at Axis is if neutral gets started at steamworks, which wasn't the case as the game recognised that Ceroba didn't actually join you)

It progresses the same way as when you do Pacifist, save editing doesn't affect the gameplay. I edited my file to 99999 EXP but Ceroba still followed me, and the route still happened, basically only the ones you killed will.
