My AP teachers have both told us that you can write literally anything but as long as you answer the question, you will get the points. You could draft an argument about why the final season of Family Guy should’ve been season 4, but as long as you mention “oh and also this” and give them the answer, you get the points. You cannot lose points, you can only gain them

I got a 5 on mine some 10 years ago and went on to get a history BA, and honestly I would struggle to answer some of these long form questions off the top of my head. It's all about playing your strengths. A broad general knowledge will get you through the multiple choice, but you need some degree of depth for the long form questions. I remember that for euro you have an option, and often you are doing early modern history (~1400-1700) or straight up modern history (1700-1990). So instead of cramming both "chunks," I ended up playing to my strengths in modern history. I can mostly get through multiple choice on the Reformation, yes, but I knew I would likely get to choose between early modern and modern on my long form questions. That was ultimately my strategy going in, and it squeaked out a 5 for me.

@@estherajofoyinbo9563 kinda cutting it close, but I understand your struggle. I can't really transmit all of the content to your brain, but since American history is relatively short, I would start at 1776 (or the colonial period after the 7 years war) and just count up by decade. Know a key event and person for each decade. You should come out with about 20 decades and you can fill in as much as you like for social, economics, political/legal, and technology/information.

@@estherajofoyinbo9563 Also, I have noticed that at least a few questions have been dealing with Native peoples, so pick one or two and get a rough idea of how they factor into stuff. i got two LEQs to choose from during a full practice exam (it was an older exam, so fewer options). one was about…i don't even know. it was either just before or just after the civil war. the 1800s are NOT my strong suit. the other was on the vietnam war, and i definitely know more about that than the 1800s. my advice: try and pick the one you feel most comfortable and familiar with, even if it's not by much. at least then you'll have to conjure SOME thought to even make that decision, and there's your starting point. :)

I believe this tip is related to when you forget the name of someone or something, it helps a heck of lot to stop thinking about it for a few hours and then come back to it again, and more often than not, you’ll remember. I don’t know how the psychology behind it works, but I know it works for me! I’m really bad at remembering names, and it helps when I stop thinking about it for a bit and come back to it later! It must have something to do with flooding your brain with _irrelevant_ information first 🤔

Here's my advice: don't load up on non-STEM AP courses if you want to go into STEM or vice versa, since they'll likely fill in requirements for classes you could've easily taken to get an easy A. Better to settle for a STEM heavy AP load so that you're past the basic/obvious stuff in your subject area while you cruise by in your gen Ed's, without having to even think about what an LEQ is. AP's are valuable if they're utilized properly. Waste of time if not otherwise. Keep in mind I got into a top engineering school in 2021 despite taking a non-Honors history course junior and senior year.
@bridgetdunn54852 жыл бұрын
this could be useful but also, if you’re majoring in STEM, colleges might not accept all your STEM AP credits because they want you to take some of the more advanced class at their school. that’s my experience at least! i’m glad i took some history APs so i’ll be able to focus more on my science classes in college

the populists which came earlier were mostly about benefiting the lower-class worker and their Omaha platform included things like better election of senators and I think unlimited silver coinage as well unsurprisingly they did not like union busters such as the pinkertons the populists were composed of many different ideologies, arguably not all of them compatible w each other the progressives were generally more broad than the populists in that they generally seeked to address American issues of economic equality and political corruption, among others

Unfortunately, I’m still doing terrible on practice tests (most recently I got a 31/55 😬). At one point my score went up 38 but it’s dropped back down after that. I ended up never answering six of the multiple choice questions. Ran out of time because head empty, no thoughts. Don’t worry about the multiple choice that much. Obviously, take it seriously, but realize you can get a good score without being phenomenal on the MCQ section. In terms of studying, it might not be the actually knowledge you have that is the problem. Underline key points of the stimulus provided. I recommend looking up videos on how to take the test, not the material itself, learn how to eliminate obviously wrong answers and at the very least have a 50/50 shot on the question(tip: cross out the letter of the obviously wrong answers for better focus). If you still don’t understand, circle it, put in a letter, and move on (I believe you get penalized the same for not answering and answering wrong, better to take a chance and potentially get a point!) Don’t waste time on a problem you’re stuck on, thats how I missed so many. Come back to it if you have the time, and don’t stress out about it after the section is over. Either way, you got this! Sounds like you’ve been working hard, and I believe you’ll get a good score. Remember, you know more than you think!
@naabessanunoo5662 жыл бұрын
that should earn you at least a three tho! plus you have all the other sections you can get points on too. No worries!
@eee-xd5bo Жыл бұрын
Your 31/55 is still better than my scores lol! I struggle mostly with the multiple choice as well, and I have no idea why. I've been told multiple choices are the easiest, and I usually crush multiple choice tests and exams. My guess is that I just lack some general knowledge and/or overthink a lot of questions, because that seems to be the problem with most of the questions. That and the time crunch problem.
