And we conceived naturally in 4 months! :) low definitely does not mean no ladies, she’s right! and it also doesn’t mean ivf!

:) It's true! There's still a chance as long as your tubes are open and sperm is good to get pregnant if you're ovulating. Of course, your age matters but there's nothing wrong with still hoping for a pregnancy if your doctor thinks there's a chance.

This was beyond refreshing! I am 44 and wanting to grow my family again and my gyn swears that at .55 AMH i will not get pregnant on my own even though my FSH was 7 and estrogen numbers were even still good. Im reversing my tubal ligation and leaving it in Gods hands, personally i dont think I will have any problems. But im ready for whatever outcome.

Oh am also 44 but very 0,001 AMH LH 6,6 and FSH 6.25 I don’t know wich is good to do . My Dr. said maybe Ovulation induction. I habe 4x miscarriage the last was march 28. 2023 so two months no break than in may start to be pregnant but didn’t work. Ladies, get an ultra sound if you have a hard time conceiving! I found out after 10 years of infertility that I had 3 polyps in my uterus that had to be surgically removed. I had no idea.... After that, my periods got less painful and my pregnancy chances got higher. Also check your Fallopian tubes for clarity. I unfortunately had no idea about any of this until my late 30’s.

@@AnnikaBergmannArt they didn’t because I had them checked a few years prior to the surgery without any anesthesia and it was beyond painful. If I had the option to do it during surgery or under separate anesthesia, I would definitely recommend going that route.

Thanks. I had high AMH 2 years ago at 35 years old 4.4 ng/l and my doctor mentioned PCOS. Today at 37, I have been tested at 1.1 ng/l but bloodwork was done 2 weeks after I got a depot lupron 1 month shot....Can the depot lupron explain this AMH decrease ? Thanks

Am 34 y/o. Have healthy 4 y/o conceived naturally. My current levels are all wacky and my fertility doctor thinks there is some faulty testing with my FSH. AMH 2.45 ng/ml OAR E2 31.6 pg/ml OAR FSH 31.4 mIU/ml Blood test on day2 FSH 86.90mIU/ml! Periods always regular, was also diagnosed at this time with autoimmune hypothyroidism. Can that FSH level be true? If so what is the cause and could prevent quality eggs / pregnancy? We just finished 1st round of IVF- 11 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 6 fertilized. Waiting to see blastocysts. This IVF cycle was after 5 weeks of OBC pills. Thank you

Also, not all laboratories have the same type of testing method. You may have a huge fluctuation from one lab to another. So do not trust lab results that much. Dr Aimee is right about trusting the follicle count more than AMH...

My fsh:3:5 lh:8 amh :0,71 😩 im only 31, always had perfect cycles, all my family and backgrounds have been super fertile, and i have a strong and healthy body, just had low VitaminD, tsh:4,3, plus the lab was not a very authentic lab, and last time i had hormonal pills was about 9 months ago: siprotron compound with sprinolacton25... is it possible that my amh was wrong ? Should i repeat it?

Be sure to take vitamin D to get it elevated, treat your TSH to bring it down below 2.5 and take coq10. Spironolactone won't affect your AMH but yes, track and trend your levels and if you are in a position to freeze eggs, I would save some eggs for the future in case you need them.

My AMH was low (considered low ovarian reserve) and my fertility doctor followed it up with an Antral Follicle Count ultrasound. Turns out everything was fine- I had a good number of follicles and I was told by the doctor to trust this over my AMH. They said its rare for these to be inconsistent but that it happens. I would strongly consider: victoza/metformin or a combination. Make sure your vitamin D is normal. Start coq10 and watch your thyroid closely. So proud of your hard work. Keep it up!!! And keep moving! You're doing everything right.

Hi Dr. Aimee! I was originally being tested for suspected PCOS - and as a part of that testing my gynecologist checked my AMH level. I am 25 years old. My vitamin D levels were slightly low (~24.8) when checked in February and I have mild hypothyroidism (I take a low dose of levo). I was on birth control for ~7 years but came off of it ~3-4 months before getting my AMH tested. My level just came back as 0.018 and I am shocked and now scared about my fertility based on how low that number is. I don't have a family history of early menopause or fertility struggles. I have a pretty normal cycle q28 days I am at a slight loss of where to go from here... I was not even considering my fertility as an issue at my age but now I am worried. My gynecologist told me that below age 35 I should not be stressed about my AMH level and that it does not mean that I will have fertility issues, but research is telling me otherwise. Do you have any thoughts on my situation and what I need to do next? (Adding that my progesterone came back normal, DHEA and testosterone were high so she suspects I have PCOS).

you're right to question what your ObGyn is saying. I would get seen by a fertility doc that will help you freeze eggs / embryos/get pregnant with IVF. If you haven't had an FSH and estradiol drawn, fragile x screen and chromosome analysis do that too.If you were my patient, I would also check: anti-adrenal anti-ovarian and anti-thyroid antibodies. It's normal to have a high AMH at 25. Just because it's high doesn't mean you have PCOS. Endometriosis is a fertility threatening condition. It can block tubes, decrease egg quality and affect the uterus and make implantation harder. You may want to consider freezing eggs, getting pregnant sooner and checking your tubes as well as treatment that will help prevent the progression of endometriosis - such as surgery, birth control pills, mirena IUD and supplements.

I’m 30, have very regular periods and my AMH as of last month was 1.09. FSH done on day 16 of cycle was 4.8, LH was 9.5. Vitamin D was 22.7. TSH 2.720. I am currently embarking on IUI #2. Do these levels look okay to you? I have been on ubiquionol, fish oil, prenatal, DHEA, vitamin d, vitamin e and metformin for the last 7+ months. Is ubiquionol as good as coq10?

Egg Whisperer Show sperm count and motility are excellent. Morphology back in October was 3% but since then husband has been on fertile aid. IUI last month my husband’s total washed sperm count was 88 million so I don’t think sperm is the issue. Tubes are clear also. What do you like to see vitamin d? And does it have a large impact on AMH?

Thank you for this video. We are 1 year into TTC baby 2. I am about to turn 35 and my AMH is .19. We saw about 6 or so eggs in my follicle scan this week. I am 18m PP and weaned a few weeks ago but have had normal cycles for the last 12 months. I have continued my prenatal, cq10, vitamin d, methylfolate, reversatrol, fish oil, folic acid and iron. I am a walking supplement! Anyway, my OBGYN is going to try 2 rounds of clomid and an IUI. Then I am being referred to an REI. Fingers crossed for another healthy pregnancy. Arabian Aphrodite your hormone levels are normal for a 41 year old. Chances based on age no matter what your levels. It isn’t zero but it’s less than 5 percent. Talk to your doc about creative family building options. And still consider treatment if you have a good follicle count.

I am a little confused about what AMH actually "measures". When you say it predicts how late or early someone will go into menopause that sounds like it says something about the total number of eggs left. Somewhere else I read that that is actually not the case but that AMH only says something about the number of follicles of that specific cycle. Which of this is really true?

I recommend vitamin E if the lining is thin. And there isn’t a particular brand that I tell patients to take. 600 mg per day seems to help. Talk to your doctor about your particular case to see if you even need this.

Hello Dr. I'm 32 years old and have 3 kids, all naturally. All of them I got pregnant first month of try. I'm looking to do IVF soon and got my hormones check and surprisingly my AMH came back as 1.45 which is low for my age and FSH of 10.8. I was really confused and surprised to be this low since I always got pregnant very easy. I always took Birth control in between my pregnancies since I was 17 and my youngest child is just 15 months old. I stopped birth control for a month before doing the test so, Could the birth control pills had affect my test results?

I don't remember exactly the number right now cause this was back in 2019 but I think it was 3.97. I was successful in my first tey of IVF so birth control really did affected my amh results

Been trying to get pregnant for 2 years I am 32 yo, my husband has MFI(Count). I went to my first REI and got my AMH checked and it was .04 and my AFC during that visit was 3. I did get cycle day 3 test and my FSH-7.1, E2-29 back in January. My REI told me the only way I could get pregnant with DE. I did an IUI and it failed. Just feel so lost, would a mini IVF be beneficial? The REI said my chances for regular IVF was 10%.

Jessica A so glad you asked! Yes I think seeing if you can do ivf would be what I would do. I have had so many amazing success stories with patients just like you. It sounds like your REI is giving you a chance and I would take it I think this is the best time to prepare and see which cycle could be the best for you to move forward with.

Fsh fluctuates. You can bring it down with different things like acupuncture. My fsh was 14! And similar amh and we conceived naturally

@@Keepinitreal55 This just shows that as long as a woman has eggs, she can get pregnant. FSH does fluctuate and is a diagnostic tool but the level doesn't tell you that you can or cannot get pregnant unless you're obviously in menopause. I love hearing success stories.

Secure future options for yourself. Your antral follicle count will be super helpful in guiding you about all your options. The GREAT news is that you are 27 years old. This means you have 27 year old eggs. You do not have the eggs of a 47 year old for example. Talk to your doc about genetic tests like: Chromosome analysis, Fragile X screen as an example of 2 they can consider doing. And keep asking questions! You're on the right path.

So this is an older thread but I'm going to take a chance. I'm 42. Amh 0.5, fsh 12, but my vitamin D is low. I had eight follicles on the ultrasound and I feel great, I'm in great physical shape. My question is: if I wanted to maximize my chances of successful embryonic freezing what would be the single best method? In other words, if I'm putting all of my eggs in one basket no pun intended what procedure would be the best option. I don't want to have to do multiple rounds of IVF. Quite frankly, I think that would be emotionally draining and it's very expensive. My instinct is to try to go about this is naturally as possible whether that be natural IVF or mini IVF. I do not think my body would appreciate being overly stimulated. I know I'm 42 and if anyone is reading this please do not wait to freeze your eggs. I've spent my entire life dedicated to my education and career and I'm very successful, but I have run up against the clock and it is a terrifying feeling. Anyway, doctor let me know your thoughts! What's the optimal level of vitamin d you'd advise for fertility? I will be 36 next month and my amh is 6.37ng. I'm quite sure at my age and this level I have pcos. However I have low androgens with it. my free testosterone is 11.6ng and serum is 2.6pg and i don't seem to have insulin resistance either. My e2 is only 14.06ng and lh is 5.7miu, tsh 1.68 on cd 3. Why estrogen be so low? Does that play into why it takes me so long to ovulate? I have to get more labs done but my ob wanted me to go to a RE at this point..however getting fsh, and prolactin done before my RE appt. in November. .Been trying for 2 yrs now for third baby. I have a hx of long cycles with ovulation anywhere from cd 21-28 and typically a 13-14 day luteal phase after that a 5-6 day heavy period. I've had a couple of chemicals in that time and 2 PUL that apparently reabsorbed with no assistance needed. The only difference between my pregancy of unknown location experiences and my chemicals were that I was getting a positive test immediately after my heavy period of 5 days and it took a couple of months for low levels of Hcg to go down, US always showed nothing in tube or uterus.

Christine Mogaka based on what you’re describing I would talk to your doctor about whether you should have the tubes assessed before transfer. There’s a higher risk of ectopic if you have blocked tubes and transfer an embryo. Something you want to be proactive about before transfer

I wouldn't sweat this one bit. Both levels are really reassuring. Here's what I would do next: check it again! Not sure if you're on birth control or not but that can affect the level along with a low vitamin D. But in general, AMH doesn't drop from 4.9 to 2.08 in such a short period of time so either the level of 4.9 wasn't accurate of the level of 2.08 isn't accurate. So go ahead and repeat it and see what the level is and use that as the tie breaker :) And a follicle check will be really helpful too. Your level suggests an excellent ovarian reserve. I can see why you would be worried about menopause because if it falls that quickly in just 1.5 years then perhaps you're worried that menopause is around the corner. Arrey Agbor Scholar there is hope. Did they use birth control pills first? If so that could be the reason for the lower response. Did they dose you with enough meds? Sometimes not using enough meds could cause this. I think there’s still hope. Repeat your levels to see what you learn. ❤️

Egg Whisperer Show Thanks for replying.Yes,they gave me birth control pills for 3months and I was have little blood flow almost everyday.I even had serious stomach pain untill I was taken to the emergency unit twice but they saw nothing serious and just gave me some antibiotics.I started taking 3 shots of stimulants injections for 5days and then 4shots for 2days but the folicles didn't increase in size.I'm so disappointed and afraid. Did you get your Amh levels tested. I have a low Amh of 0.32 at age 32. I am taking several supplements, including vitamin D. I took vitamin D for at least 6 months before testing. My vitamin D levels came out normal, but unfortunately, my Amh did not. It might help in some cases…vitamin D didn’t improve my Amh levels.

afifa musfira I would repeat your AMH. It shouldn’t change by that much in one year so one of them isn’t accurate. And get your day 3 fsh and estradiol checked too. Having a lower Amh at a young age means you have good eggs to me just not as many. I would still look for other possible causes. Make sure to check sperm health too.

I am not a doctor but it looks to me like your TSH is very high. I have a TSH of 2,4 right now (I have a mild Hashimotos) and my endocrinologist said that we should get my TSH below 2 because I haven't gotten pregnant. You might want to visit an endocrinologist. I went to "normal" doctors for years asking if there was anything wrong with my thyroid and they all said no - just to go to a specialist and there you go... had an autoimmune thyroid condition all those years

keepinitreal as soon as your Hcg level is around 1000 you should be able to see a pregnancy in the uterus. I would schedule an early ultrasound and get blood work done tomorrow. If the progesterone level is low that is a sign the pregnancy may be an ectopic. There’s still a much better chance it could be a very healthy pregnancy in your uterus. Get checked ASAP! And listen to your body

You're definitely doing all the right things. Consider also adding Acai berry as well to your daily regimen. I monitor testosterone levels for patients who take DHEA and do recommend it when AMH is low. Coq10 is also a great supplement to start.

If you were a patient of mine, I would recommend being as aggressive as you feel comfortable being: consider fertility pills with IUI or IVF if you can. My first suggestion would be IVF so you can preserve embryos for your future. And take coq10 if you aren't already.

Hello Dr Aimee. Thanks for the video. Im 29 years old. My amh in June 2019 was 0.6 and fsh was 22. Vitamin D was 15 ng/ml. I have been deficient in vit d for 10 years. This June 2020 my amh is 0.2 and fsh is 15. Vit d has improved and it is now 50ng/ml as I'm taking supplements. Do you think I have low amh due to low vit d ? If I bring vit d levels to above 80, will amh improve ? Also, if it's just vit d causing low amh does that mean I do not have major fertility issues ? Pls respond back.

Priyadarshini Patil I think the low amh is due to genetics. Be sure to get some genetic testing done. Talk to your doc about fragile x and chromosome analysis and freezing embryos or eggs ASAP! You should have good eggs left! You have young eggs but just not a lot

the chances with an AMH Of 0.1 is low but it isn't "no!" Make sure you're taking really good care of yourself, taking coq10, exercising, eating healthy and make sure the sperm part of the equation is healthy too.

Hello mam, Iam 28 years old and my amh when I tested for the first time I got value as .8ng/ml again i tested after 4 months and i got the value as 1.76ng/ml in between I took glucophage and duphastrone tablet as per my doctor's advice.now they are advising me for an ivf ? Is it necessary at this age

I think that doing IVF will give you a higher chance of securing options for your future. I predict you will have beautiful healthy eggs because you're 28 and since your AMH is slightly lower than average (fluctuating) then you may want to consider freezing embryos for your future. I don't think you need IVF unless: tubes are blocked, sperm is really low, or to prevent a genetic condition.

@@sujatatodi9251 fluctuates and "meanders." I also call it "A Mean Hormone." it's very mean to see it drop then rise then drop again. But these fluctuations are certainly very normal.

I can see why you would be worried. Make sure she has some genetic screens: Fragile X and chromosome analysis. Ask her to start coq10 and have her see a fertility doctor to see if she has eggs that can be retrieved to freeze.

Low vitamin D may suppress AMH. I would do this: talk to your doctor about taking vitamin D 4000 iu daily and then repeat your AMH and also check day 3 fsh estradiol and an ultrasound. Talk to your doc about your family size goals and how old you might be when you have your last baby so you can see if egg freezing or embryo freezing is for you!

In 2017 i was on homeopathic med for increasing amh n got it increased from 0.5 to 0.8 but after completion of that course my amh got drastically decreased to 0.18 so i got that checked again from different lab but same month n it came as 0.12.

Yes! You do have eggs and the level doesn’t mean you don’t. It just means that you do now and if you were to do IVF you would get about 8 eggs! Start coq10, do the tushymethod.com tests and see what you can do that is in your control to get pregnant
