Antisemitism , it’s a TRICK, we always use it” In August 2002 former Israeli Minister of Education Shulamit Aloni was interviewed on the radio and television program Democracy Now. During the interview, she was asked: Question: Often when there is dissent expressed in the United States against policies of the Israeli government, people here are called anti-Semitic. What is your response to that as an Israeli Jew? Shulamit Aloni replied: “Well, it’s a trick, we always use it. When from Europe somebody is criticizing Israel, then we bring up the Holocaust. When in this country people are criticizing Israel, then they are anti-Semitic.”

@@suzika8362 I know it is the world court. Sfop treating me like an idiot, it doesen't reflect well on you. Maybe this explanation from the ICJs website does help you understand the difference between a judgement in a case of dispute between two states and an advisory opinion, where an institution like the UN asks for their advice and opinion on a legal matter. The UNSC might adopt a resolution based on this advice in future, which would be binding, because the resolutions of the UNSC are, but an opinion on something, even if it is the wordls courts opinion on the law, is just an opinion and nothing more. It does carry moral weight, though. And the laws on which it has opined are binding. "Are decisions of the Court binding? Judgments delivered by the Court (or by one of its Chambers) in disputes between States are binding upon the parties concerned. Article 94 of the United Nations Charter provides that “[e]ach Member of the United Nations undertakes to comply with the decision of [the Court] in any case to which it is a party”. Judgments are final and without appeal. If there is a dispute about the meaning or scope of a judgment, the only possibility is for one of the parties to make a request to the Court for an interpretation. In the event of the discovery of a fact hitherto unknown to the Court which might be a decisive factor, either party may apply for revision of the judgment. As regards advisory opinions, it is usually for the United Nations organs and specialized agencies requesting them to give effect to them or not, by whichever means they see fit." They gave an advisory opinion on this matter, which is not binding. [Quote:] Are decisions of the Court binding? The UN has just issued its ruling, again clearly stating that Israel has illegally occupied Palestinian territory since 1967. This follows the many UN resolutions on this very matter. Israel should stop all its illegal settlement activities and its occupation immediately. There is NO need for any futher discussion but for Israel to hand over rights and sovereignty of all occupied territories back to the Palestinian people with reparations. The media and reporters should STOP saying "it's non binding". This demeans the very existent of the UN as a just body.
