Romani's were actually captured artisans as slaves from india by Invaders and taken to the west of asia then to europe. They were abandoned and thrown out of country(invader's country) by invaders after some centuries later. But due different complexion of physical features and loss of ethnicity they were not accepted in european countries. They were never acceped thereafter. then the term "Gypsis" was came into mainstream. but now they are coming to know of their indian ethnicity.

I don't think that is completely accurate. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. They did migrate out of North-western India and were likely already nomads (banjaras) in India.

@@EagleOverTheSeaTheir migration directly overlaps with early Islamic invasions of India on Western borders, and the only economic desert Invaders knew was by loot and capturing slaves.
@praveenpillay43292 сағат бұрын
What? Romanis migrated from Rajasthan, some parts of MP, and Haryana. What are you talking about? This probably happened in the 10th century, when India was an economic superpower.

Romani people or "gypsies" are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group because their ethnic and linguistic roots are from India. Today, they are genetically like half Euro half Indian. The influence of Indian culture on Andalucian culture is not just the dance, but the instrumentation, vocalization, colorful costumes, etc. Of course, other influences also exists such as Arabic/North African.

This was a pleasant surprise! Didn't expect this given the kind of unadventurous followers you have garnered in India. I had the pleasure of watching Aditi and Bettina (the first pair) live. I have taken workshops with Bettina and she is a hard task-master. I first discovered her through a Flamenco-Kathakali (not Kathak) fusion performance called the Killing of Dussasana where she played Draupadi. She visits India often and collaborates with different artists here. I have also had the pleasure of dancing Sevillanas (one of the Palos of Flamenco) to music by Indialucia (the last group in the video). As an Indian (with some training in Bharatnatyam, another classical form) learning Flamenco has been familiar and strange in equal measure. I warmed up to the guitar melodies and some of the basic dance movements easily. But, the cante took some getting used to. I would compare it more to Rajasthani folk or even Qawwali more than Indian classical singing. It can be raw, passionate and high-pitched and not always easy on the ears. And yes, contra-tiempo is super tricky and something I struggle with; but it is something I suspect Indian classical musicians would take to like ducks to water.

India is much more than just Bollywood; it celebrates vibrant dancers from South India like Chiranjeevi, Thalapathy Vijay, Raghava Lawrence, and Allu Arjun,PRABU DEVA. These talented dancers embody the rich cultural heritage and artistic diversity of the country

Thats true Romanis are very likely and originally from India rather then from Romania as some sources believe. Some live in the Balkan region also.

Art, Dance, Music, Vedic studies of chanting mantras and the songs where debating with God, praising the Lord, complaining the Lord, Treating lord as own child, all this is a very important part of Indian Culture since the Ancient times, That's why there are so many popular Religious songs in India. Perfect vocabulary to chant mantra is extremely important, same with the dance form..

The secpnd clip doesn't show what exactly represents kathak.. it is much more semi-classical so yo say, some mudras and postures are not donevin kathak rather in other classical styles in India... It has more folk elements!!
Romani or Roma are Indians from mainky Rajasthan and bit of Punjab region who migrated to Europe, America, South America etc and settled there as locals. They escaped via Hindukush mountains ( hindukush literally meant " killing of Hindus" by Mughals) Many assimilated as Europeans Americans and were slightly darker skinned and hid their identity and acted European American . They escaped to Persia in 11th century and reached Europe in 14th century Like Famous Charlie Chaplin Michael Cain actor Elvis Pressley ( was quite dark compared to Whites and hid his gypsy identity ) Led Zep lead singer Robert Plant of famous songs Stairway to heaven , Kashmir etc you can see him.identify with Moroccan gypsy bands etc due to that reason Santana in SAmerica you area Yul Brynner Lots of soccer players List of famous Romas in wiki Very sad history for them...they escaped persecution by Mughals
