I live in the ground floor flat that has a gas boiler,there are 4floors above me,how can you test boiler flue that is in a concrete sharft up to the roof with no access,what would you do? Great channel to watch.

I’ll have to post a video on this. Rather than write it in a comment as it’s quite a long winded one. But comes under communal fluing 🙏🏽

Movement on let by with digital manometer is 0.2mbar Do you adjust the gas valve on every check?
@Heatking10 ай бұрын
I only adjust the gas valve if they’re not in tolerance mate. 🙏🏽
@DutyBty10 ай бұрын
@@Heatking a few lads I work with do that, but in the MIs there's actually no need to adjust, unless your ratio is above 0.004 , you've confirmed the integrity of the flue and the gas rate is correct. Unless you've carried out a burner clean or changed a component that affects the combustion circuit. That's how I read it anyway.
@Heatking10 ай бұрын
@@DutyBty you’re probably right there mate!
@Purebeltersteve10 ай бұрын
As Part of the landlords Act, basically you must check the integrity of the gas line. Service is where you dont have to supposedly. But if your carrying out 'work' by checking the WP at the meter by undoing the test nipple point, then you need to do a TT, as LDF is crap when its detcting a 0.3 mbar drop on pipework which we all know isnt allowed. Too many grey areas which really annoys me, as if theres a gas leak, your going to be making good money finding it, so i dont understand why people dont do TT all the time as i do it and charge big money if there is one.
@Heatking10 ай бұрын
Great response that mate. 🙏🏽

I thought they knocked doing tt as requirement for landlord tickets couple years back , but agreed tt is belt n braces no point in ever skipping for the 5 mins that it takes peace of mind

@gunsey87610 ай бұрын
My gas inspector told me on a visit to never tightness test on a service unless your asked to specifically, he said if you find a leak outside of the tolerance and need to cap off supply, you can be made by gassafe to perform the remedial work at your expense if you were not asked to check for leaks. Could be a sticky one if you turned off supply to a vulnerable person who had no means to pay for the necessary work

20.6 for flue integrity. I have always understood it to be 20.9. Could you clarify from your books what it should be.
@Heatking10 ай бұрын
It is 20.9 orrrrr, whatever your analyser shows in fresh outside air. So my analyser in clean air always shows 20.6% so if this was the change when inserted in the flue air sampling point, I’d know there was an issue. Hope that helps frank
@cristianradacina942327 күн бұрын
20.9% is the natural amount of oxygen in the atmosphere, and 20.6% is the minimum allowed for flue integrity in order to get complete combustion 👍
