So funny because this is EXACTLY what I trained my dog to do before I even saw your video. We bought the squishy face studio flirt pole to help give our 2 boxers exercise because I'm unable to walk them due to a disability. I still struggle with getting our male boxer to release. He does really well "drop it" when we're playing inside, but he doesn't want to let it go, even for a treat. I guess he figures if he's going to work that hard for it, he doesn't want to give it up that easily. lol

Great video. Answered all my questions. I made one early last week and just started using it during play with the dog I'm fostering. I don't have a toy on it at the moment cause he's more excited by the rope. Thanks!

That is terrific! I am so glad your foster dog enjoys the game! It is such a great way to introduce them to polite play too.

@@RedPointyDogTraining thanks. It has been hard to train him drop it and impulse control when he's excited so I hope it will lend well to leash behavior when we're out with all the distractions, and maybe even less nipping and mouthing. Either way, great tool !

My dog isn't terribly food motivated. What kind of treat should I give her?

I've never seen this idea before. It looks ideal for my mini poodle with too much prey drive. Can't wait to get started. Such a simple idea but great means of exercise when the roads are too icy to go out.

It is such a great tool for working with dogs with high prey drive!

My dog zeros in on rabbits during his walks but had no interest in this so far.
