Thinking the same thing earlier today. The parallels between Johannes and Martijn his neighbor are striking. Both are driven to extremes and humanity is the beneficiary. Deep thinking, driven, creative, accomplished men that share their works with everyone. Maybe deeper than a simple coincidence.

Oh my goodness, I remember the same image you described from his pilgrimage. I painted it! I watched it about a year and a half ago. All the cloudy clouds, like a fog approaching, with faithful Father J. How joyful to hear this in this interview! Wow. p.s.
