Is there a way to lock the bike via app to prevent theft usage?
@RibbleCyclesChannel4 ай бұрын
No there is not, the bike can be pedalled weather the motor is off or on. Please consider using traditional bike protection methods.

Just got my Ribble hybrid ebike last week, due to COVID I had to wait a while to get it, but love it. Lots of hills here in Nidderdale and at the moment I’ve only used it on the lowest setting and I’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve changed the handlebars and seat to suit me better.( I like upright riding position). A beautiful bike and I look forward to many years riding it.😎👍

Hi Carl , isn't the hybrid a fairly upright position anyway ? i m about to order and need upright , i don't really want to have to change handlebars , thanks for any advice
@carlmitchell99583 жыл бұрын
@@jimcahill3453 Hi , thanks for your reply, yes the bike is already fairly upright, but I tend to favour the old fashioned sit up and beg style. I’m enjoying the bike, and while the motor in the hub means it’s not as good on hills as a bike with the motor in the bottom bracket, it gives me enough help on my local terrain. Hope you can try the bike before you buy. I’m six foot and went for the extra large frame.Regards. Carl.

I’m enjoying the bike so far kzbin.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

Hahaha, wow. Just don't buy Ribble, go Orbea or something instead. I mean Ribble have been the WORST purchasing experience of my life. I bought my bike in February and I still haven't received my order. The first bike I received had horrific paint followed by a faulty motor making the bike unrideable. I was meant to receive a replacement by June, however, in August I finally received a bike, this time the rear hangar had been bent so badly that the rear mech was inside the spokes and the wheel couldn't turn. They sent me a rear hangar out which I had to fit myself, then I had to pay a shop top index the gears and check the mech. Then I turned it on and the electrics throw out warnings. Another unrideable bike. 6months from when I bought the bike and I've still not got anything I can ride. Honestly terrible. I've received zero compensation and barely an apology so I don't know how they expect me to even reconsider my current opinion. Avoid Avoid AVOID! Seriously go elsewhere.

Agree. Shite customer service. Shame really as their products are potentially great.
@BasslimeRex4 жыл бұрын
@@PhilCharters I have finally received my bike, paint still a bit cracked n scraped in places, and they refused to replace any cosmetically damaged parts (because apparently you don't buy new items for their cosmetics) so I've just accepted it to avoid more hassle, but it is beautiful to ride, absolutely loving how it feels. So yea, the potential for great rides is there.

How do you replace the battery if the battery in housed inside the frame?
@RibbleCyclesChannel4 жыл бұрын
Hey, you would need to remove the chainset, remove the BB and then the battery is held by 3 screws in the downtube, release them and the battery will slide out. J @ Ribble

I don't believe that you will get 60 miles from a 250kw/h battery. More like 60 km maybe.

Are you saying they're making bogus claims about the range of the battery, range is my biggest concern with electric bikes, having owned a Carrera in the past.
@ianmangham45704 жыл бұрын
@@thegreatpretender4197 They all make bogus claims on the range,I've been building my own ebikes for 10 years now and range is something i know due to buying different batterys/motors/controllers,there's so many variables but just for a quick text you can expect an adult of average weight on an average day on flatish ground to use 1amp hour per mile,so with a 36 or 48v LION battery at 10ah and let's say a 250-1000w motor at 10-20amps you're looking at a range of approximately 10 miles if you want to average 15mph,it's all about power to weight ratio.
@RideWithRoy4 жыл бұрын
Ian Mangham you seem to be assuming that power is in constant use on the ride. This type of system is designed to support the rider’s effort, not do all the work. If a rider wants a moped they need to buy a crank drive with a big battery. I have the Ribble CGR ALe and have managed 70 miles and still had 20% battery remaining. I only use power on hills/into wind/when I’m tiring, as I want to keep fit as well. I also ride standard road bikes for long range Audax trips., so am a fit rider.
@thegreatpretender41974 жыл бұрын
@@RideWithRoy yes that's the beauty of e- bikes you get a good work out because you tend to ride for longer, I say that as someone who would normally only use a bike to commute, but with ebikes they tend to make even the laziest of riders work harder
@vincekerrigan83002 жыл бұрын
@@RideWithRoy Yes Roy, perfectly right, but the presenter didn't qualify it that way. He stated 60 miles range which implied that that is what you could get from the battery in constant use. If I were to ride 100 miles on my e-bike, using the assistance for 20 of those miles, I could then claim a 100 mile range, but that would be misleading.
