Not gonna lie, as a guy who has seen a thing or two about women in my life, one way to avoid the ick is to not act desperate to get into a relationship with her. You guys are making this more complicated than it really is. Stop looking at PUA garbage and learn to just detect women's signals and then initiate basic small talk conversations, get phone numbers, setup a first date and go from there.
