Lomachenko does this well too, especially being a right hander fighting south paw.

I spared for the first time at my mma gym this last Saturday and was really feeling like I was getting tagged a lot sitting in my guard. My coach told me to pop the jabs and it really felt very different with how much easier it was to move, control distance, and more importantly get hit less. It's been fun trying to transition from taekwondo sparring to boxing to round out my skillset.

Just found this channel and with having 13 years of Thai/Kickboxing experience I have to say this is one of the absolute best I've come across for instruction. Not every fighter can coach well but Joe does a fantastic job breaking things down so boxers at any level can start applying the techniques immediately. Also have to show love for fellow Canadians!

Yo Bazooka, these last videos have been pure fire! knowledge bombs everywhere!, as the amateur MMA fighter I am I truly appreciate all the knowledge sharing from a pro like yourself. I am subscribed now and sharing your content with fellow friends, hoping to learn more and more from you, man. One day Ill come visit your gym for some classes, seems like really good place for learning and improving, rather than just spar to death like it is almost everywhere... best of wishes from Mexico City.

Whitaker was countering and still beating Gastelum to the punch, almost like a stop hit. Crazy impressive

I'm a boxer but this advice is super important to stand up fighting in general. I used to get pieced up from the outside. My only chance was getting inside and then punching but even that was difficult because everyone could see i was about to advance. My lead hand was so stationary that all the had to do is watch my footwork and they knew what was coming. Once I really forced myself to just keep that lead hand active I was not necessarily landing more jabs but i was getting jabbed way way less, it was easier to get inside because the hand was hiding my footwork and i could land more straight punches. Now I use traps pins and parries just with the lead hand. It's tiring and I'm still getting used to it but it's very very good advice.

I have recenetly been implementing a long guard like Samson Isaan to mix with my aggressive & plotting style. This video has definitely helped fill some holes in it. I fight on Oct 30th & It's gonna be a beautiful performance, thank you for everything Joe!

I watch this vid at least once a week and preach the intelligent left hand to all my fellow trainees. But remember what BJ says…u need to be sharp in the mind and feet to pull it off. Make sure your footwork is down before implementing.
Haven't watched yet but already know this will be very useful. Big greetings

Dominique Cruz mentioned how Whittaker is one of the few fighters that can hit you while moving backwards. I'm gonna subscribe anyways, but would appreciate you explaining what that means? Cheers from Australia

Joe, today I could see you are a really nice and fair fighting guy :) ...you pinned your partners guard with the "open hand" as you said without using your gloves as a hook to pull the guard down. Mates like you could make this world a better place :)...oh no, wait a minute! I stopped the video to write this and a second further on you DO IT !!!!!! Hmmmmmm, so maybe you can´t make this world better but at least you are a very good fighter...ha ha ha!

Anyone else enjoy Dom Cruz’s technical analysis more then Rogan basic bllsht. Cruz gets no love bc he doesn’t get all excited or repeat basic casual points and some don’t like his attitude but I think he’s one of the best If not the best
