Well explained, not sure I understand it from a nail perspective though.

I’m sure this is something useful for digital artists who need to protect their work, and that’s great, but as a nail technician, I can’t understand why I would need to use something like this, I just wanna do nails

Look up the nail tech/artist, Robin Moses. She spoke a lot about this way back around 2010ish-2011ish. She is an outstanding hand painter on nail art. Like, Kat Von D-level of face portraits and artwork, on nails. People were constantly stealing and taking credit for her work/designs/talent. So, she talked about how she literally had to patent every single nail art work and watermark them as well.

As a graphic artist and developer, I know this lack of protection has been wanted since the start of the internet. I have friends in the same industry tell me how hard it is to protect and get compensation for stolen art. My own art has been stolen without pay when I was still in college, so I have learned to watermark my stuff the hard way. The pirating of photography and other digital art is insane. My own customers do it without realizing it until they get an email legally requesting them to take it down from their website. With new technology comes new ways to protect your art and livelihood.

Exactly and this is coming from an artist as well. And I used to be that person that would download pictures that my photographer sent me and circulate them around and didn't know that that's what I was doing

Are you saying that in future if someone does a fancy French and it’s a NFT, if anyone else does it and posts it, then they might have to pay for copying the art on a nail? I hope this is only for digital art and not nail art because so much artwork on nails is used all over. I pray this is not the direction the nail industry is going in. It will really limit the styles of nails people can have for budget reasons in the future.

I love you guys, but my 20 yr old who is a digital artist says that there is not really any way to control whether the piece of art that gets the special number has been stolen or not. Often the art that gets put up as originals are pieces that were stolen from the original artist. They (my kid) also said that NFTs and crypto currency is really bad for the environment. They suggested doing an internet search on "how NFTs are bad for the environment," and, "why data mining is bad for the environment." Please do more research before getting involved - and not just videos that are pro NFTs. My kid doesn't even want me supporting your company anymore if you start supporting NFTs. I hope I never have to make that kind of decision because I really like everyone from YN and think you are a fantastic family-owned business. I know y'all are good people who want to do the right thing.

As with any other collectible item, it only has value to the person who wishes to collect it. As I mentioned in the Twitch stream a few weeks ago, I purchased a couple issues of the comic book when Superman died, back in I think 1989??? They are still in the original plastic, unopened, unread and in perfect condition. To the right collector, they are worth quite a bit of money. To others, they are just comic books that have never been opened or read and those people may ask why I ever bought them. I’m kinda feeling this way about bitcoin, NFT’s and the whole digital currency thing. It’s only as valuable as the collector makes it.

Looking forward for NFTs to become outdated. Along with Twitter, FB, selfies... Can you imagine how people are going to laugh at the selfie and plastic surgery era. It will be like 70's hair.

I’m finally understanding what an NFT is but your still not telling me why I even want to buy an art emoji? I’m not into art I hate art lol so why would I buy an art emoji to make money? I don’t have friends or family who would wanna buy my emoji that I bought lol and I’m definitely not gonna promote or hound strangers to randomly buy my little emoji picture lol so if I would to spend hundreds of dollars on a little emoji picture I would pretty much be stuck with it and never sell it to anyone to make money! It sounds like more of a hassel then anything and just sitting there hoping someone would buy my stupid little emoji especially when there are millions of other NFT emojis out now so why would anyone want little old mes emoji?? Tell they wouldn’t! To me this whole NFT sounds dumb.. unless your rich and like collecting things and on the look out for the most valuable NFT to buy! Which definitely isnt me nor would my NFT even be on that kinda valuable level! I could invest my real money into something that’s an actual item I can hold in my hand and make money the old fashion way Instead of this hassle of an NFT stuff I’ll probably never be able to sell to anyone.. like buying stock seems more worth it and easier then buying an NFT when you don’t even know if anyone will ever even buy my NFT and then I wasted my money and never make any money.. then my money is just floating around in a digit world doing absolutely nothing.. soooo I’m still not understanding why me “a nobody” would even want to buy an NFT 🤨🤔

Not interested in nfts. Thanks, but no thanks. Every website will have their own digital scrip that one can only use with their site, nah. I'll pass.
