Mostly, bad sectors cannot be repaired. Bad sectors are excluded from reading so that we can use the other sectors of the hard disk without any errors.

They can be "hidden" from the disk, which means it will lose some space. This however doesn't solve the following problem: New bad sectors may arrive if the hdd has a hardware problem (which usually happens when it's closer to it's MTBF).

Yes I was tensed a lot. When my hdd was not showing up... And that night I was not able to sleep . That next I prayed Lord God please help me to get important data, thankfully by God's grace I was able to recover 80% data when hdd showed up.as I was not able to copy in large amount .. and it almost took 2 days as mny files were inaccessible due to bad sectors. If would click such file it would hang again.best tools to know your hdd condition is hdd sentinel tray and Victoria hdd for checking bad sectors. Best advice check the hdd health periodically . And also go to device manager, select your hdd,open properties and change the properties to better performance

There was no problem in hard drive until one day it just wouldnt start. I learnt about bad sectors from the technician then. I fail to understand what caused this. I only watch movies in my laptop and nothing else. My ram is 8 gb and no other use of the laptop. I make sure not to use more then 1 software at a time. But still. Pls if u can tell me something on this.

You should take it to an expert. He can disable the bad sector of the hard disk. It will reduce some storage, but u will be able to use the PC without any issue. Also, u may have to format and re-install Windows. So, make sure u backup your important files before u take to the service center.
