One thing I like about Botswana the government invest so much in education, that's why majority of the young people are educated. Also the country is on the right path to be good in the future very peaceful as well.

I think in order to get the undiluted Botswana culture, you need to talk to the elderly. The young ones don't know a lot about our culture

@@TheQueenKiTravels LOL that was very funny - "not me!"... (loads of South African companies there indeed.) Pap is a South African - Afrikaans word, the same as Braai. Most SADC region countries are similar. Botswana is beautiful indeed.

@@rickyv2844 Pap is used in Nigeria and Jamaica also. This is interesting since Nigeria and Jamaica don't have any known connection to Afrikaans or German.

@@kuyahkudey3217 is not called pap in Nigeria and Jamaica
@kuyahkudey32172 жыл бұрын
@@AustineAK You are right, I made a mistake. I was really thinking about porridge which is similar. We call porridge pap and I was watching a Nigerian youtuber, Sisi Yemmi, and she also called porridge pap. I think the pap they were talking about may be similar to Kenyan ugali, African American grits, and Jamaican turn cornmeal.

Hi there. I come from Taiwan, a country locates in East Asia that you might not heard it before. The same that i never heard about Botswana until last year, first i was impressed by the flag of Botswana then I started to search some musics there and into the music eventually. I like that you asked some people about Botswana cultures in their opinions and showed us the real life there. I hope to spend time on watching videos from your channel and wish you a nice trip in Costa Rica ✨✨

This got me craving pap with some stewed veggies for some reason 😆. I've never been to Botswana, but I have been to Namibia and SA, which have a few similarities. Anyway, I love that they said "peace" and "diamonds" are things they're known for. Those are 2 great things!! Hopefully I make it out there this year. 👍🏽

This was very interesting! Especially when they said the older adults are not in the city. Would be great if you could find some millennials or even boomers and interview them. I'm sure we'll hear a lot more about the culture/history of the people and the development of the city. Thank you for the great vlog, Queen!

It’s true our elders don’t live in the city,I once saw a video of a tourist who said Botswana don’t have old people I was dissapointed because they assumed that people die young here..Our elders live more peaceful in the villages without noise and all that in the city..

So interesting! So it seems like the millennials still prefer the countryside. That's really a departure, I feel like. It's probably a very good thing. Hopefully, those folks having kids now in the villages can really instill the value of culture to keep it strong there. In so many other places, all the millennials have already adopted a love for western life.
