@@DarthDragon007 the cities in his own time, the cities in THIS time, the androids, the effort Gero put into this project out of revenge, so the people of the red ribbon army by extension and his own son. and the line is a counter to of all people the person who essentially allowed him all this power via multiverse theory, although the fact he was able to get to it and it existing at all is the briefs family in general. theres a LOT of dead men behind him in both forms of phrasing.

Keep in mind, that 3rd timeline Trunks (the one that lost to Imperfect Cell) is believed to have defeated the Androids because he brought back (or found) the blueprints for the remotes to shut them down, meaning strength wasn't really a factor.

They’ve said part of the plan to differentiate Cell from Freeza was to make Freeza stand above his opponents. Cell, by contrast, was able to roll with all their punches and then utterly _obliterate_ them. Use words just as much as fists to make them not even want to fight ever again. And god DAMN is it good.

This is probably my second or third favorite episode of the series, so I’ve been looking forward to this reaction. I think it’s important to really appreciate what Cell said about Trunks here, because it’s easy to get caught up in his great introduction as the second Super Saiyan, and his defeat of Frieza, and not realize just how inexperienced Trunks is. At this point, this version of Trunks has literally never been in a fight where both sides needed to try seriously. With Gohan, they never got to spar seriously since, even ignoring Super Saiyan, Trunks was hundreds of times weaker. With the cyborgs, in their first encounter he was too weak to do anything and in the second they just toyed with him and pretended to let him win before taking him out effortlessly. He obviously wasn’t getting any great combat experience in his solo training, and he even brags to Frieza about how much time he spent practicing an attack that’s basically a party trick. Frieza and Cold were brought down effortlessly, to the point where he could literally just catch their strongest attacks. Against the Androids he was more or less just trying to get everyone to retreat until he jumped in and basically got one shot. Even in his year sparring with Vegeta, he was holding back, since not only did he avoid using his new useless form, he also seemingly avoided using his full power blasts, since Vegeta clearly had no idea Trunks was strong enough to send him flying when they were arguing over Semi-Perfect Cell. Trunks has been in plenty of fights and done plenty of training, but he’s still barely been in a serious fight.

Want to know something funny about 40k? The faction that is the most "good", the Tau, are the main enemy in any other universe. The Tau are functionally the Covenant from Halo. They're the closest to being the good guys in 40k but even then are still dicks and put them in literally any other scifi setting and they're one of the biggest threats. 40k is just that much more over the top in power scaling. Legitimately the only thing I can think of that tops 40k in how terrifying it is would be Halo's Flood being vastly more deadly than the Tyranids, doing the same thing the 'nids do but in hours instead of weeks.

I sincerely love the timing that the commentaries and Duck showing Kirby almost perfectly lined up, especially at first. And when you consider the fighting games that came before it on the Super Famicom, Ultimate Battle wasn't even a good game when it released. It never even had the chance to age poorly, because it was already outdated upon release. That said, I did still enjoy it a fair bit back in the day when it was finally localized. But I think that was more just because it was a DBZ game, more so than because of its actual quality.

Trunks didn't lose that fight to Cell... A Trunks that never went in the Time chamber in an alternate universe lost the fight to imperfect cell. Remember the Androids bodied the Saiyans until they went into the Time Chamber... and Cell was on Android 16's level after absorbing thousands of humans. My head canon is the Trunks that Cell killed used the shutdown button to kill the androids, and cell absorbing a few thousand people should be around 18's strength and easily overpowered Trunks. Again... when Cell first appeared and ate one town, he was able to fight off Piccolo and only ran when more showed up, coulda defeated a Frieza killing level Trunks easy by ambush.
