I do like how they build up this epic showdown between them, the "cyborgs" say "you're gonna die," Gohan's like "no, this isn't where my story ends!" Trunks as the narrator immediately adds "this is where Gohan's story ends," then cuts to Gohan dying, looking surprised and in pain as he goes out. Like DAMN it really reminds you of how brutal this timeline really was. We can't even avenge all the heroes who tried and failed to save the Earth or all the innocent people who were slaughtered over the years, no, even that's denied, as Gohan, who was a toddler when it happened, spent his whole life training and preparing to avenge them someday...only to die the same way...only for Trunks to also fail.

@@cardking7776 Yeah, as far as "in-universe" reasons go, definitely that. We see a similar situation in the Goku Black saga. Because of how shitty everything is, it takes Bulma a _year_ just to make the fuel for the time machine and even then it was only like, 1/2 a tank, just enough for a 1-way trip. But in the other timeline, she can fill that sucker up in like a day or so.

Context: Trunks getting his sword was never really explained in the future since, young trunks in the past met tapion. Not this kid. 18 jumped in front because she wanted to kill him first. But she did it at the WORST possible time. And yeah. Multiverse theory. Not the unilateral-single strand thing. Most of trunks's moves are basic ki blasts or techniques he borrowed from others. Only one he really has is Heat Dome Attack. (And buster cannon but its more of a ki blast rather than a legit attack)

Ah, History of Trunks. The darkest of the Dragon Ball films. Series creator Akira Toriyama is a big fan of Western scifi and we see it pop up several times throughout Dragon Ball. From the Aliens references of Bulma walking around the ship in her underwear on the way to Namek and Frieza's 3rd form looking like a Xenomorph to the Terminator references of Future Trunks coming back in time to warn about killer robots that bring about the end of the world in the future. Adding to this TFS added their own layer by including loads of Doctor Who references to Trunks in their show, namely with his music often being pulled directly from that show as well as the sound effects of his time machine being the TARDIS. Even the ending titles to this special were made to be a DBZ/Doctor Who mix. Yeah, this episode came out shortly after the passing of the legendary Monty Oum. RIP even all these years later. Those who burn twice as bright burn half as long and few shined as brightly as Monty. He's still missed. As far as the medicine for Goku goes, it did help, hence why Goku is still alive in the regular timeline. In the original show, he was told not to take it until symptoms of his disease started popping up as the medicine was common in the future but hadn't been invented yet in the present, so they had a limited amount to work with. Goku being incapacitated by his disease during the Android 19 fight was a case of bad timing, they had to take him back to Kame House to give him the medicine there and let him recover. 7,900 Zeni is honestly fairly average when it comes to what theme parks would charge you. According to Toriyama, 1 Zeni in Dragon Ball is equivalent to 1 Yen, the main currency of Japan. Currently 1 yen is a little under 1 US cent, and as of this post 7,900 yen would come out to a little over $55. For comparison, Disney's fast pass system will run you about $25-40 depending on what you get, while Universal Studios' Express Pass will run you about $90. So yeah, Super World's fast pass is pretty average in price. Trunks' Super Saiyan transformation is one of the most hardest hitting in the series, second only to Goku's epic one and...something else later. TFS only improved on it with this film, to the point that several of the official voice actors from the main show have gotten in contact with TFS and mentioned how much they loved this take on the scene. One of the reasons you had issues with the audio in the scene is the music is straight out of Doctor Who as mentioned above and pretty much gets flagged everywhere. Trunks getting his sword from Tapion is a reference to one of the films that sadly TFS never got to: Wrath of the Dragon. In it an alien warrior named Tapion befriends kid trunks and at the end of the film gives him his sword before departing Earth. In the closing montage of the film, it's suggested that it is the same sword Future Trunks used when he went back in time, even if the timelines don't match up correctly.

So with Goku and the heart medicine, it is my understanding that he was supposed to take the medicine when he started showing symptoms of the heart virus. But Trunks meddling with the timeline delayed the heart virus affecting Goku until he fought the androids. The medicine is the only reason he survived, it did it's job. It just was just really inconvenient that the virus showed up later in the timeline.

Why is it that every time someone in dbz gets a hurt arm or loses it completely, its always they left one? With vegeta it was the left arm that tends to take the worst dmg, piccolo always loses the left arm before growing it back, and alternatefuture gohan loses his left arm too. Technically that would be Daughter Universe Theory, not Multiverse Theory. Multiverse Theory means multiple universes were created at the time of the Big Bang, or more accurately before the Big Bang and probably have different laws of physics and chemistry. Daughter Universe Theory means a new timeline is created whenever someone time travels and that you can't go back to the past in your own timeline. And they're not even technically theories in the scientific sense, but that's a matter of semantics.
