Netball Scotland should, then, have their own Superleague. Gutted that some of the teams are leaving the superleague. We could have our own: one from the Islands, Highlands, Aberdeen-shire, the Boarders and two from the Central Belt.

I agree with you. Also the South of England could have a league with the teams dropped from the Superleague (Bath, Surrey and Worcester) and some other teams such as Exeter and Bristol. Netball is strong here in the South West and there are plenty of fans. If Team Bath have a team the fans will come whatever league they're playing in.

Happy to see the steps towards professionalising the sport for the great athletes we have! But as I’ve seen so many say, it’s such a shame for the South West, South East and Scotland to have no team at all. So many fans will now be cut off from watching matches in person now but the purpose of big arenas is to sell more tickets? I personally never felt a difference really in watching matches at Team Bath compared to Wasps in an arena. Only time they seem busy is when England play! Happy the West Midlands gets a team again after losing Wasps but a new club in Nottingham when it’s so close to Loughborough? It just looks as though money has come from a football club so let’s open a franchise there rather than where talent and fans are actually based and being fully inclusive across the UK. Final thought in a long ramble, all the talk is about the product and partners, it all seems to be only a business now. Netball is about the players and the fans, neither of which seem to have had much of a mention in this except that there will be fewer NSL places for players to have to fight over.

And if the fans don't "invest" in this model, will it be their fault if it fails? I do not agree with the comment about women not investing in going to matches etc. Put more coverage on TV and get netball the real exposure that's needed then this will help the fan base to rise and become more diverse. Sustainability is also about the fans being happy.

I'm sure I will enjoy watching the new Netball Superleague, but as I live in the South West I'm just not going to be as invested in it. It's the same with The Hundred. I don't mind watching it but I don't have a team to support.

Will some of the reinvestment come to help continue developing netball in the South West? With no SW team now there's a lot of girls that won't have the infrastructure to continue in netball.

I think the teams in the South and West should make their own league. If Bath, Surrey and Severn Stars have teams in a league the fans will come.

They definitely need to be careful not to overdo the razzmatazz. Fans like a calm, safe, welcoming atmosphere of the university arenas.
