My brother passed away from CF 2.5 years ago, to him you weren't hiding the bad parts of CF, you were highlighting what you can do despite CF. Thank you for everything you do Ben.

You may not seem/be the 'typical' CFer but thats a great thing. You inspire others to try their best with your positive attitude and being an exercise enthusiast. Try not to let the fears of the future scare you. I know its unavoidable to randomly think about, especially after talking to a few fellow CFers who end up passing but we really don't know how our own story will go. I fear my own end will be like my twin sisters, but my story is already different than hers, so maybe not. I hope you keep up the great work in all you do for our CF community and please keep doing your breathers(my slang for breathing treatments) even if you dont feel you need them from time to time. Take care! :)

Excellent Ben. Liked the way you spoke from the heart and shared your feelings. Your description of CF was spot on - great analogy; easy to understand. Thank you for doing this - speaking out for all of us Will be sharing this! 💜

Hi I am sorry for the mental trauma you are suffering while reaching out to others who are with cystic fibrosis. I will make a quick analogy to maybe possibly help you. I hope it does. I myself , in the past, was an emergency medical technician on an ambulance. I was not a paramedic who can administer medication by doctor orders. I was not a doctor who can provide surgery for life saving. I was an EMT who could be there for someone who needed help and get them to a place for healing. You are an inspiration to others who are battling cystic fibrosis. You understand the body and how to alleviate your symptoms by taking care of yourself with medication and exercise and cosplay (Thor). You have empathy and that is what helps you to help others with cystic fibrosis. To me you are sorta like an EMT , being there for people when they need help and showing them and telling them how to take care of themselves. I wish you good health and I really hope you can start small fund raising projects at hospitals . Just a quick suggestion, could be like getting in touch with other cosplayers who have “Avenger “ or really any “Superhero “gear and get them together at a clinic or hospital. Allowing the patients of cystic fibrosis know that you are there in support. Possibly also as a fund raiser to help someone in financial need due to the cost of hospital or clinic care. Good luck and keep the faith in yourself .

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and emotions so honest with us. You made me realise something about the mental health of a beloved one who suffers with another chronic disease which I didn't see for many years. Thanks so much for the eye opener ❤️

I really can relate with the things you were saying. I also don’t want people to think i’m sick. And I managed to do that still upon this day. The hardest thing is joining a community and meet friends that also have CF and see them struggle so hard and occasionally see them die. A good thing here in the Netherlands is that there is a new law coming up that says; everybody that doesn’t apply themselves for organ donation becomes a organ donor automaticly.

You can have kids, you need 2 parents to pass the cf gene, even if u have cf doesn't mean your child will definitely get it.
