What is Dalek Control?

After the Paradigm Daleks restored the Dalek Empire to the universe after their near-total extinction in the Time War, Skaro was rebuilt and inhabited by a diverse group of high-ranking Daleks that formed Dalek Control. But what is this enigmatic Dalek leadership body?

I always had the idea these were Davros’ newest faction that went to war with the Paradigm They had less resources so repurposed older casings and took over Skaro after the fall of the Parliament, seeking an advantage against the Parliamentary loyalists and the regeneration thing was their gambit to even the odds. Then this faction would either be wiped out or would rebuild and be the Daleks we see in Flux and Eve This would help explain why the Death Squad Daleks are so harsh on purity and wiping out alternate Dalek variants, they were built to respond to a Dalek Civil War. It also makes sense of why Skaro is cloaked, because “the Children of Davros” are hiding from the “Paradigm Remnant”

Whenever the daleks seek Davros out I often think that it shows them as on the back foot or slightly desperate. So I'd say this collection of daleks fits in with the end of the paradigm but before the daleks recover lightly during the 13th doctors run.

Which going by that, after the flux incident the Daleks would probably seek out Davros again to lead them, so Davros might actually be the leader of high command, but that is if high command existed before the flux or after it

I wouldn't mind if Dalek High Command is set outside of normal time or space (like the Medusa Cascade). Would explain how they survived the Flux with their command intact, and would be both a wise decision, and something that the Daleks are very well capable of.

i think davros plucked daleks from different points in there timeline to rebuild the dalek race, with time lords indisposed in time bubble, there be no one to stop him, this would also explain why these daleks treat davros with such respect as there savior and almost like there father, its really interesting how his relationship has grown with his creations quite the character arc, also doubt that when the sewer daleks rose up that they manged to destroy the city, more like cause a lot of damage, so Dalek Control recovered and continued operations, Honestly need to bring back the timelord energy plot point back it be interesting to explore and lastly i like to think the dalek supreme is the imperial commander dalek from the story curse of davros, and made the new supreme, since it was a dalek that was already loyal to davros, and thus guarantee davros control of his children even without the title of emperor

The whole thing with Davros plucking Daleks out of time and space is the same with I say we does with my ultimate Dalek empire, because that is made up of Daleks from different parts of their history

I think the Dalek Death Squad were the remaining members of the parliament and perhaps even senior daleks from the original Dead Planet episode, mabye some of the remnants of the high command were used, at least the ones who didn't obey Davros and self-exiled themselves (the Daleks have a rough relation with Davros so that may have happened) and united together.

I don't suppose you could give into more detail about the Paradigm restoration of Skaro? There's a wonderful fan animation called "Dalek Tales" which creates a story on how the Paradigm brought back Skaro. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it already :)

I love that series, and I intend to do a full video on it one day As I understand it, after Victory of the Daleks the Paradigm returned to their native time and brought Skaro back. It was restored as of the Adventure Game City of the Daleks, but by Asylum of the Daleks it looks like it's in ruins again (though there's probably some wibbly-wobbly going on there) By all accounts it seeks as though the Paradigm had basically fulfilled its purpose by restoring Skaro, though were not sure as to the exact specifics of how /when they did it

Yeah to be fair, on closer inspection it seems like its an unusually large classic Dalek and not a Paradigm. It's weird because I remember seeing a CGI Paradigm dalek in this episode after someone pointed it out in a comment on one of my old clips, but now I can't find it

We knew the Daleks were capable of tracking the TARDIS as early as The Chase (1965), which would likely have taken place a short time before The Daleks Masterplan from their perspective. Since the previous Dalek story (Into the Dalek) took place in the 51st Century (feel free to correct me on that one), we can infer that this story takes place somewhen after that

I'm surprised none of the forms of large scale Dalek leadership we've seen in New Who have been referred to as the Supreme Council mentioned in Planet of the Daleks. I assume it collapsed either during the Renegade/Imperial Dalek Civil War or the Time War.

If anyone knows the O5 Council from the SCP Foundation I think these daleks are similar in the way that within dalek control they would take any means necessary to ensure their survival. But *not* that they would suggest daleks outside if their structure take the same unconventional measures. Then in this way their individuality, age and experience become assets to the survival of leadership without being a threat to dalek normalcy and purity on a whole.

I like to think after the end of the time war and especially after the death of the emperor, there are multiple dalek factions loosely working together trying to rebuild their empire kinda like a confederation. Multiple high commands, multiple forms of government, multiple dalek supremes

Maybe this is just me, but in The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familliar, Missy seems to imply that the red supreme Dalek from that story is one she (as the War Master) fought in the Time War, at the Battle of the Never Vault, thus making him another Time War survivor. Any thoughts on this?

Hmm. Wild ass speculation but if I had to come up with a story to explain this, and something more interesting than just 'they felt like it'....perhaps you could tie this in to the Daleks attempting to reinsert themselves into history. If you go by Asylum's easter eggs (I mean sure they're easter eggs but still) this wasn't simply a case of building an empire from scratch from their entry point into the timeline in Victory. Both Asylum, and the Davros flashbacks we've had show that Dalek history is once again part of established history - what if in the process of pulling themselves from the...vague, pseudo-separated history due to the time war and the time lock, and creating an established new history, they pulled form different parts of their past, all coming together to form the new empire. the Paradigm likely started this, probably trying to keep strong control and purity - possibly even this is where the civil war with the Children of Davros could fit in if not every Dalek agreed with the shape they were trying to make - then with them explodified, Dalek control is...an alliance of sorts, between the different eras and factions cooperating. Thus explaining their less rigid viewpoint as by definition they need to be more flexible, the presence of renegades and imperials alongside. Davros agreeing not to try to rule them, thus negating a lot of the civil war tension, but the compromise putting him in a place of respect.....I'm sure these could be fleshed out into a proper story with some time crazyness, but it takes more than two minutes when I'm supposed to be working.

It's on the far left, you can see it bumps its dome on one of the city buildings - but although some people pointed this out to me as a Paradigm Dalek, it could also be some kind of CGI algamation of bronze Dalek and silver Dalek parts

I'll be more generous and say he didn't know how to write them after RTD raised the stakes so high by making it seem like even a small number of Daleks existing spelt the end of everything, and after every previous Dalek story involved them involved them bring wiped out again / returning from extinction again / rinse and repeat. Logically, following from the RTD era, The Doctor should be Hell bent on eradicating the Daleks...but, that story got told too many times, and it stops the Daleks and The Doctor from really "doing" anything outside of each other.

Dalek Control is advised when an infiltrating Movellan was exterminated in Destiny of The Daleks. Also here we see the oldest Daleks (are not they based on Dal-Empire Daleks not Kaled-Empire Daleks?) which means we can have confidence that the time-traveling Dal-Empire Daleks cannot harm the modern Kaled-Dalek despite the number of parallel near identical missions they have failed alike. Maybe they have the better crystal ball and perch anyhow, who knows. Not the doctor. He and his friends can jump inside of the travel vehicles without any thought of consequence as if the once filled-with-mechanisms Dalek Vehicle is a perfect travel vehicle for humanoids, and at any time!

between 2:36-2:39 there are several Daleks in the bottom left and bottom right that resemble Paradigm Dalek Supremes, though they could also be amalgamations of Classic and New Series Dalek CGI parts, its difficult to tell

I do so loathe how High Command is just bronze Daleks and classic casings, with no explanation whatsoever. It woulda made more sense if it contained the odd Paradigm Dalek - Supreme on the dais, Strategist on the upper platform, and the odd red drone - along with the black Dalek and the other bronze bois, and instead it feels like Moffat was trying to make up for the criticism of Asylum of the Daleks.
