@The Article I think your ears don't work. Not because i'm trying to insult your taste in music, but because this video literally spends most of it's time on what "djent" is and where it came from. Btw insulting people on their musical taste is deconstructive behavior and i don't support shunting the honest interests of others in any shape or form. That stalls progress just about harder than anything, i don't know if you have noticed but a lot of more metal now takes away from the progressive metal of the past decades. Djent whether you like it or not, whether it's a genre or not, is a leading influence on what we like listening to and in the next decade, it will be a different genre that takes lead on new sonic ideas. Stop being a cockwadler cutting against the grain and learn to appreciate even the music you don't like listening to. In the end, you should be happy so many people are contributing to the richness of music.

I remember when Misha was on the Petrucci forum back when I posted there from like 2001-2004. The band had put out their demo album with their very first singer, Jake I believe was his name. Great screamer/growler. I had a friend who was actually a guitar player for Periphery for a very short time probably in like 2006. I knew they were a very talented band and had amazing musicians. I guess I didn't know how big they'd get.

“Second to my last comment” it seems “Guitars and Cars” go hand in hand I find a car and a guitar very similar if you are into both.

Misha and Herman Li really should start a band. Herman is more of a melodic type vs Misha is into that heavy chugg stuff but yet does some great riffs that Herman could solo nicely over as he did in this clip! Herman Li i really like you as a person. You seem cool to hang out with sometime. Shameless selfpromotion now. If you have the time check out my Red Alert Hellmarch orchestral mix, i think you'd like it. Rock on

It's so cool how interactive Herman has been on stream with fans and how open minded to the internet he has been recently. Not only is he staying relevant, he's having fun interactions and us guitarists love watching the people we're covering react to our videos!
