This was an honest presentation of this subject, funny too. I wanted to lean more about the EFI shell, for example, in linux my root drive has a different partuuid in the EFI shell, than the same root drive has after the system has fully booted up. For boot I need to find out the partuuid is in EFI. Thank you for your EFI video.

type help command and learn your stuff for loading it up make sure you disable efi in the bios you can do that under boot if you type exit

This was great, thanks! Another useful trick is to add "page=#" to the end of your command, it will add pagination. The # you enter will be the number of lines you want per page. Sometimes you end up with really long output and the buffer isn't big enough to display it all, this will allow you to page through the info (like the "more" and "less" Linux commands)

So far this has been the most useful video I've found, but i don't see any executables. I'm trying to get past the EFI menu, windows won't boot up so this is as far i can get. The MSI BIOS menu doesn't seem to have anything useful for my situation. Been messing about on and off for two years with this thing, my only achievement is getting rid of a black startup screen, so i do got access to the BIOS and the EFI menu, i just don't know what to do from here.

if there is no EFI executables, it's either you don't have a bootloader (accidentally removed) or it's a legacy OS install (MBR). The easiest solution would be to move your important data out and do a fresh OS install.

Guys don't waste time.this is very helpful by I couldn't find the EFI file in my folders FS0 or 1 or 2 so I turn off the laptop and open BIOS . IN The FAR RIGHT under Safe changes has an option EFI BOOT. I DISABLE EFI SHELL and Worked. Try it if you couldnt solve it after this so helpful video.

Sorry if too late you need to shutdown computer start up but after pressing the starting button press del or esc or f12 or f10 or f11 (depends) and you will be in bios or uefi

if you want efishell version 2 i suggest that if you have another computer and a usb drive, make the pendrive bootable with the arch linux installer, if your bios isnt completely broken you should have a boot option on the boot menu for that usb, and then you can choose the efi shell option to enter the efi shell v2.2

When I tried this one of the FS partitions was the Windows C: partition. So it will read NTFS.

My supermico scmf x9 won't boot to bios. It gets stuck with an AB error. I guess because I changed to date and time. I tried to dial the date back in the EFI shell but it won't save it so when I reboot the date is current again. Any thoughts

Use the keyboard key to interrupt the boot up process and enter the BIOS setup utility. Somewhere in the various screens of that utility will be "Attempt to boot the UEFI Shell." Hit that. To enter the BIOS setup, watch the screen during the boot up process and it may tell you "Hit F2 to enter setup." Then you know you just have to hit F2 at the right time. I had to use the actual Acer branded keyboard that came with the computer, a different keyboard wouldn't work. Also my wireless keyboard wouldn't work. If you can't see it telling you how to enter the setup, try, one at a time, the usual keys, which are F2, F8, F10, and DEL.

Haha...I just accidentally discovered an easy way. Power up with no keyboard connected. The BIOS will stop and throw the infamously immortal error: "No keyboard detected. Press F2 to enter setup or enter to ignore." Then you can plug in your keyboard and hit F2.

Nice video. You can edit the startup.nsh too with the edit command so it always starts a chosen bootloader. What's written on your cap?
