I have chronic pancreatitis and epi and i was 50 kg in 2022 but since 2023 i lost 10kg weight now i am 40kg.. my epi is 3.5( fecal elastase done on sep 2023)..i am currently on creon 40k three times a day..please help me..why it is happening what should i do.? How i can gain weight? My doctor is not taking my health issues seriously

It is not uncommon for EPI to also cause malabsorption of fat-soluble and other vitamins (notably B-12). In addition, the lack of adequate breakdown of food can provide an environment in the GI system that allows a proliferation of "bad" bacteria or SIBO.

@@showinghandlesisawful recently diagnosed with sibo..by doctor gave antibiotic. And 25k creon three times a day. I hv gain weight but only 2 or 3 kg. My next visit is in October. Is it curavle. Can i gain weight again? If u knw can u answer plz

Dr is there an enzyme available in the uk for Muslims or Jews who do not want to use the porcine version of enzymes?

unfortunately there is no other options available

I'm Muslim, and my doctor says other options are ineffective. There's a fatwa allowing porcine products for medications, and Allah knows best.
