As an artist I remembered one day I was drawing a portrait and I had to duplicate it into two identical pieces this task was quite challenging for me because when I do the same painting twice they never be the same, but when I experienced the flow state the two portrait were identical on an unrealistic way and I was so engaged to the point of not hearing the noise that were sounding me .

One of my favourite examples of Flow in video games is when single-player games automatically adjust their difficulty depending on the performance of the player. If done well, it keeps the experience optimally challenging without interruption the experience.

Flow state feels ironic to me. It seems like an unintended side effect of working hard, and then suddenly realizing any sort of work that I’m taking on was not actually as challenging as I thought. It’s kind of surprising in that way. I find that putting on certain types of music can help bring about that kind of focus, even if it is not starting a flow state, I may end up getting there through that stimulus. Thank you for posting. Also, I’m an INFP.

I am an INFJ and I sure get into what I consider a flow state. When I have been internally attempting to work out a problem that I have been trying to solve. When I inundate myself with information and have protracted time to engage in heavy, introspective thought, mostly when alone, I experience waves of thoughts and symbols that provide eureka moments that help inspire answers, confidence, and a course of action. More specific to "INFJ flow", but productive and sometimes feels like mania. Just my 2 pennies worth!

Routine helps. A writer, speaker, or web developer must set aside uninterrupted time everyday to repeat a habit, skill, or movement that has potential for improvement. Flow state will happen automatically. A person with high awareness will feel, see, hear it as it's happening. The reason why people can't consistently call upon flow state is because of the stresses of everyday life. It helps to keep the time of day for this habit the same. Treat your body and mind as a servo-mechanism. A body that serves you and does what you will it to do.

Flow: An action, skill, or task that engages, entertains and builds up an individuals proficiency in an act that leads to personal growth. Challenge/ skill balance. Learning made fun.

I'm an ESFP and flow state for me is when my body moves and does the action I want it to do without me thinking about it -other than how to steer the next action. I get into flow when I'm dancing or singing and playing guitar and my skill set is up and I can just concentrate on making the song sound or look like exactly what I want it to sound/look like -or at least get as close to that as possible. -And I find that it is easier to stay in (or come back to) flow state if I just continue taking action on my aim even if I sing/dance a little off or if my mind starts taking into account what an audience might measure me as. For me, it's just expressing myself completely in the moment. -Or "doing my job and then letting go' like the Tao says -but I find it is much easier to come back into that flow experience if I don't try to compare myself or rank myself among others after the fact -but instead just get back to the job of finding the action I want to do (that I find meaningful) and then doing it with all of my abilities.

Flow state for me is when i'm debating someone who is intelligent about a topic i'm well versed in. INTJ or INFJ or a hybrid of both? Not sure yet.

Interesting! I'd say what initiates my flow state would be curiosity, and I am also competitive. I love, love, love, absolutely love debates, I used to do it for hours, days, weeks, months, even years non stop, and i used to debate non stop, for years. However, I am taking a break now because of political correctness, getting reported, losing your accounts, etc, not funny anymore. But debates can train our logical skills, spotting inconsistencies and contradictions in statements, silence your opponent until they completely can't answer you anymore, it's really fun to me personally. Yes, I debate to win. If I wanted a discussion then I won't be looking to win. I also love challenges, i love analyzing things, this is why I can be playing Sudoku or puzzle for hours, I also play other games too. I love solving things that make me think, and I think, the harder, the better, as long as it piques my interest and curiosity. When I am curious about something, I can really dig deep into it to get to the bottomline of why it is what/how it is. For all these activities, I can completely forget about time. Ironically, I do know my obligations and responsibilities, i know my deadlines, but I tend to ignore them all when I am doing the activity that I love, although I do feel hmm.. How do i describe it? Disturbed? Because instead of doing what I'm supposed to do, I am having fun instead. And yes, thinking is fun, so when i do things that involve my brain, I am actually having fun. Guilty pleasure. I can be on KZbin for hours watching crime shows (particularly interested in the psychology of murderers, motivations), docs about anything, history, physics and chemistry experiments, biology, math, riddles, all the while ignoring what I should be doing (e.g., I am supposed to be working but I view it as a waste of time, I know this sounds stupid but when I am curious about something, it's hard to just close the app and do my work, I have to play the video to see what it's about! No, I can't watch later, I have to watch it now! Lol).

INTJ here I've mostly experienced a flow state when playing snooker. I think it's linked to the fact that it requieres so much focuss/precision/awareness of your body movements etc. / also to a lesser extend while meditating or working out When i'm in that state I perform much much better, everything seems so effortless. I've noticed my senses (mostly touch) are like "awakened", it's like I 200% own my body, every movement is fluid, no hesitation, no micro movement etc. I love electro/house music and I think the repetitiveness of the melody can help me clear my mind of any thoughts that would distract me from the task.

I think flow state relates to the principle that the brain only makes memories when there are emotions involved (even better when it's negative emotions). I guess flow state is actively noticing that one makes memories in that very moment, but those memories being based on a positive emotion, so a conscious learning-rewarding experience... in my opinion therefore "flow state" is more of a new descriptive term for it rather than an actual new special case/phenomena discovered perhaps....

ENFP/INFP (~50/50 I/E, depends on the day) and I would describe flow a lot how you did, “knowing what my opponent is going to do next”. Not just that but it’s like my brain is 2 steps ahead of where it would usually be, my body knows what to do without me telling it to, things that shouldn’t be muscle memory suddenly feel like they are. Usually it’s while I’m doing my work, online marketing type stuff: graphic design, content writing writing, web design.

I'm INTJ. Most of the time, my flow state appears when I'm working on a personal programming project that doesn't require too many things I haven't already learnt. I'm just typing code endlessly and thinking about how to solve the problems to write my algorithm without the need to pause. I usually feel enthusiast and almost godlike in those moments.

That’s crazy. I’m an INTJ and I experience the flow state most when I’m playing video games too. Mostly FPS games as I can quickly implement strategy and get immediate feedback (which I read helps flow) but I’ve flowed in some fighting games too.

I think flow state is when the structure is somewhat released. Or im let out of the box. I can move freely, improvise and flow. Although I need structure and order. I feel best in a flow state. Left alone to my own devices. No time restraint and just a place to create or dive in. When I do research or when I have no option but to improvise and innovate I just go. Sounds like a dream but it does come sound every so often. I tend to structure myself too much being a mom and then feel trapped. i-entp.

I'm a student (intj). my flow state for now is when I'm learning something (especially if it's abstract) that I have the skills and the capacity to understand + if it's difficult and really challenging you'll see me like an idiot smiling with shiny eyes while the teacher is explaining when most of the class is having headache😂. but once I discover the way the subject or the things I'm learning work, which happened so fast unfortunately, I don't experience the flow anymore, it becomes boredom.

Another INTJ here I experienced two diffent kinds of flow states Both can happen to me in when I do fighting sport, that beeing physically fighting with a sword and virually fighting in a e-sport One of the flow states is the regular competitive flow state many people point out The other flow state is far more rare, far less sustainable and if I am not right in it I perform poorly and it is linked to emotions, unlike in the regular flow state in which I am free of emotions. When I am extremely angry, and I mean seriously mad like dark side of the force levels of mad, when I have a mind set of: I WILL END YOU! In that state on rare occasions I enter that second flow state (or rage mode?) in which I perform frighteningly well, even better than in the regular flow state, therefore it also fades much quicker.

Achieving a state of flow can be a great way to make the activities you pursue more engaging and enjoyable. Not only do people often perform better when they are in this state of flow, but they are also often able to improve their skills in that area. I enter flow state when I'm competing (usually combat sport), or I'm doing some dangerous/exciting stuff (lmao) that requires a lot of (Se)spontaneity. and it literally feels like Robocop, all emotion, especially fear, is suppressed. like a ruthless war machine that gets exhilaration from removing everything on my way. My main series for a long while was BlazBlue but outside of tag we havent gotten one in a good while. I competed a lot in SoulCalibur V but 6 hasn't been as fun to me (although I do have an old vid of me on an alt channel ending a 18 win streak by SonicFox online in the open beta haha). I have most of the others and play them for fun every so often but this year just killed the competitive energy for me and havent put much effort into keeping sharp on my skills. In a bit of a fighting game limbo this year, hoping maybe something big next year.

@@AsuraPsych Nice. I also have BBTag and BBCF but play them sparingly. I got into them late and nobody I know plays them. Beating Sonicfox! That's crazy though! Would definitely like to see it. I've watched some SC6 tournaments on Team Spooky but know I would only play it casually. I spend most of my time playing competitively in MK and DBFZ these days. I definitely feel you on the FG limbo. Before MK and DBFZ got big updates I wasn't really into training to get better because I was unhappy with the game state. I'm very interested in what you look for in a character. Do you gravitate towards a specific archetype or certain traits?
@AsuraPsych
@AsuraPsych 4 жыл бұрын
@@Swoldridge I dont post on the channel anymore but that video is on my channel TwistedAsura if you want to see it haha. Was open beta so still very early on in the game. He'd probably floor me these days. If I'm being 100% honest, I pick characters for the cool factor. That said, I almost never pick heavies and I prefer characters that have a counter playstyle if possible. In Blazblue I mained Relius and Kagura. In tag Hazama/Gordeau. In soulcalibur I switch a lot (I placed top 8 in a regional with a mimic character in SC5 cause I switched mains so often lol). Currently main Mitsurugi though. In MK11 Fujin. Typically faster characters but usually not speedsters/ninjas/lightweights. I used to be a senior mod for 8wayrun, the soul calibur community back in the day, but its kinda dead these days.

@@AsuraPsych man. I saw your games against Conic and also your Hazama in Blaze Blue CP. Loved the characters you picked and your playstyle. Your gameplay definitely made me want to look into both SC6 and BB more. I know you're pretty busy right now but hopefully you get back into it when you have time and I see you at some majors. Maybe even get some sets in. Keep it up with this channel though. You're making some great content.
