Is there a way to fix this problem or is there a lens for my xt3 that doesn't have this problem?

Thanks for the question. Fuji's cine lenses, which they make in several mounts, do not have focus breathing, but any of their traditional lenses for stills photography, which are just about everything made for an x-t3 will breath. It's the nature of lenses not made for cinematography.

@@primumnonnocere2709 Fujinon MK 18-55 would be a wise choice. But the price is not that friendly.

I still don't get it. when you zoom in, obviously the subject gets closer and the periphery is no longer.

Take the example he showed you, when he was at min focus the flower was quite large, but look what happened when he was focused toward the trees, the flower went smaller. Remember it’s about focus, not zoom being talked about here. The chair for example, he wasn’t zooming, just changing focus from near to far. But look how the blinds and the chair grew and shrank in size. Zoom is not being changed in these examples.

Nope, no zooming isn't involved (still on the same focal length). Just change the focusing area. The first image illustrates the problem better. When you focus at the flower, then the flower looks much bigger *as if* zooming was involved. Then change the focusining area to infinity, like the trees behind. Then suddenly the flower looks much smaller.

So kind of annoyed with Fuji for years they said the f2 lenses were better for video bc of the better and faster af. Now they are saying the 1.4 are better for video bc the f2 have a lot of focus breathing. Sigh. Lol at least everyone agrees the 16-55 2.8 is great for video.

id take faster and quieter af over the breathing for sure
