It's so rare to find anything about this topic besides the general definition. So thanks for making this video. I consider myself also as fraysexual. All my past relationships make more sense now. There used to be another Aspie on KZbin who once stated that they chose a sexual partner specifically because they knew they could never have a real relationship with said partner. That sounded odd to me at the time, but it's possible that Aspie was also Fraysexual. I'm most likely demisexual, so fraysexuality seems pretty foreign to me. I suppose I could have sex with someone I'm not emotionally connected to, but I'd likely feel guilty afterward.

Regarding Christian purity culture: The thing that Christians never tell you when preaching against premarital sex is that in Biblical times, most people were being forced into marriage when they were only 14-16 years old, so they didn't have much of a chance to experience sexual feelings (or "temptations," as religious people call it) for long before they were obligated to fulfill their marital obligations. Premarital sex was forbidden back then not because it was seen as being "unfaithful" to a future spouse, but because it was defiant to parental authority, since the children were essentially choosing a partner for themselves instead of letting their parents decide. Today, Christian teens are told they should "save themselves" for a future, lifelong partner, but historically the rule against premarital sex had little to do with that -- instead, it was all about adherence to tradition and obedience to authority.

Man I really feel like a boomer, I think it's just really been drilled into my brain that fading attractions means like all the other things you mention in your video. I guess also monogamous drills also made that. I guess I do understand the Santa allegory like now you know your partner for so long it doesn't feel nice to have that with Santa. Man I really feel ignorant but it's just my brain trying to grow around a new concept and I'll understand it in not too long. Is it like saying secrets to reddit / strangers and it feels more comfortable than to say it to someone you know because it stays that way instead of working in with everything else that you say to your partner? I mean it is a spectrum. It's hard to tell If people are people who do bad things or just how they work. Or both. People are complicated. Idk when to not understand and respect it or understand it the way I see it and deem it wrong. It feels like a slippery slope for my over openmindness

It’s so cool that Fraysexual is becoming more well known, I even have a fraysexual flag pendant lol If anyone is reading this and feeling scared of the future, you don’t have to be, I’m happily married and have been for 10 years but yes I’m also fraysexual! There is still a lot of ridicule surrounding Fray, when I explain what it is (before I decide to tell the person that’s me) I’m normally greeted by responses such as “oh that sounds so sad” because others just don’t get it. It’s not a fetish, or choice it’s just me, same as everyone else. Be proud of the Fray and find that pendant and flag lol

Currently dying inside bc I said something controversial in the fictosexual group I’m in on facebook about if articles abt fictosexuals do good bc they introduce people to the concept, even if there is unfortunately fictophobia, but at least people get used to the concept. But then I realized that “yeah that’s actually still bad” since the media has alr said a lot of crazy stuff about the rest of the lgbt, but the damage was alr done so now they probably all hate me pls help
