On Epson R2400, UV ink dissolved the ink manifold where the cartridges rest on, the plastic was softened and disfigured so no ink could flow through the holes. I see the "ink spray station" melt away to plastic goop.

I attempted to clean the manifold by sucking solution thru the head, after putting the dampers in place and installing the printhead, the cage where the dampers are filled with ink. Do you think i did not put in the dampers correctly or i messed up the head when pulling solution up? Also this happened when the printer was on and printing something, so it threw the 075 code, i removed the head again and it was wet/ink all over the electronics parts. i hope i just fired the head and not the motherboard. what do you think? Thanks in advance.

I have the content and had it on here for a little while but became messy. I sent few dx7 heads and small batches of glue. And nobody was able to do it. Only one had a good microscope. After I ran out of the glue I pulled it. The glue is over 200.00 and I didn't want to be responsible for someone wasting another 200.00 I may repost when I order more and can sell smaller qtys of the glue for those wanting to try.

Sounds like some kind of build up in the head. Ive seen cases where some ink channels waterfall nicely and others take alot more pressure. Pulled the head apart to inspect and found a mound of dried ink.

@reprint217
@reprint217 Жыл бұрын
Couple power cleanings ink should be flowing unless you have another issue. First I would check the captop and pump. Gravity plays big roll with the ink delivery system so usually couple or few cleans should get you some progress.
@lazerpug
@lazerpug Жыл бұрын
@@reprint217 some of the inks responded to the "fill ink" command and the captop seems to be working because ink is passing through the head into the bottle. The bizarre thing is that when trying to run a test print it does not even put down the colors that clearly have ink in the tubes

So, I think i saw a printhead doctor unit in one of your videos. Any chance you might be willing to share what your experience has been with it? I just got an XR640 and have an LEF2-300 on the way that both need major head cleaning. I'm wondering if it would be worth it to have that device on hand to both try to recover the heads in these machines that were left sitting for a while as well as to perform some kind of gentle periodic maintenance flush to keep the heads clear as time goes on? I'm gonna have two DX7 and 4 DX4 printheads that I'd like to keep in top shape for as long as possible. It wouldn't take bu a few replacements to equal a cost of a printhead doctor, even the more expensive models.

Love my printhead doctors for industrial heads. At first i was impressed at how it unclogged but every epson head I ran through the machine either was doa as soon as put in the machine or failed shortly after. Epson heads are very sensitive to any type of pressure. Highly advise against it.
@cncmechtech
@cncmechtech Жыл бұрын
@@reprint217 Got it. I was really hoping vacuum assisted reverse flush at super low pressure would be a bit of a magic bullet. Just set it and let it run at next to no pressure for a long time instead of the soak, rinse, and repeat method. Just thought maybe that a slow but constant circulation of a cleaning fluid would keep flushing the surface of the clog with fresh cleaner and be a good idea. Thank you for the feedback!

Question, is there a way to tell that your DX7 printhead is fried? signs? I have a 1324x printer. We had to change out our printhead as there was an error message we were trying to fix. So printer sat for months and months. Anyhow, changed out printhead and no more error message. However , when printing on media nothing prints at all. inks are charging and empties out in waste properly when cleaning. we were told printhead may be fried. (we've also check the fuses on mainboard and CR board and they seem to be working) We live in the islands so its really hard to find a tech here to come out and see. In need of help please
@reprint217
@reprint217 Жыл бұрын
These heads are very sensitive and ashamed to say even with changing out 100s of these heads I too have ruined a brand new head. If you know ink is flowing and fuses are good. Than likely head is electrically shorted out. In my early days being self taught did this a few times and it sucks

Epotek 353ND, available from Epoxy Technology Inc., and Ablebond 931-1T1N1, available from Ablestik. Ablebond 931-1T1N1 is preferred for its thixotropic properties but is less resistant against some type of inkjet inks, e.g. water-based inks. Epotek 353ND on the other hand has good ink resistance properties but is not thixotrope and thus can easily flow into the ink chambers if the adhesive was applied too thick or if the nozzle plate was pushed too hard against the front surface of the printhead body.

I did, however, I removed it as most people just wasted money on the adhesive. I had a large bottle and supplied some to a few as it is pretty costly.
