Thank you so much for this incredible knowledge......even after my 6 yrs of mbbs carrier, i have never seen this kind of practical knowledge, very simple and problem solving, no other useless theoretical information, Arjun sir has more knowledge of AMS, Altitude sickness, HAPE, HACE than any doctor....thank you so much both of you.......👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌, One day i will trek with india hikes.

Wouldn't it make more of an impact if you brought a medical professional or a doctor along with arjun to do similar videos on HACE, HAPE, AMS etc? I am sure a lot of doctors would be trekking with Indiahikes. I feel having a doctor on board will give you much more credibility.

Hi Somil we would be happy to have a doctor to talk to. But this kind of expertise requires a whole lot of experience and time at high altitude. True, we have many trekkers who are doctors, but we have found that our trek leaders are better equipped with knowledge and know-how of altitude sickness to handle cases on treks. So unless the doctor is a high altitude medicine expert (there are just a handful of these), it's not possible for me to get one on board for an interview. It's a very very niche field! If you know of somebody, do let me know. :)

Hello Swathy. I agree with you that its a niche field . I shall be on the lookout for someone with such expertise and will notify you if I find someone like that.

What actually cases it? Is it the cold or lack of oxygen or something else?
@Indiahikes3 жыл бұрын
The reason behind such a condition is HACE - High Altitude Cereberal Edema. You can read more about it here: indiahikes.com/altitude-sickness-ams-hape-hace/

My question is that iam a scout we are going on a full karnataka camp hike what r the things which i should take a what should i do if i get fever or unconsciousness due to sun(uv ray)what should i do at that time? And please
@swathichatrapathy93476 жыл бұрын
Hi Prafulla if you are trekking in the South, the sun can be quite harsh. The best thing to do is wear a cap at all times and keep yourself well hydrated. Glucose water or Electral helps a lot in this! Apart from this, carry dry fruits such as raisins and dates. That will keep you energised. These are steps to prevent yourself from being affected by the sun.

Stupid question incoming : Do your fitness level affect the chances of getting hace ...
@swathichatrapathy93477 жыл бұрын
Hi there! That's not actually a stupid question. Many people do have this question. But fitness and altitude sickness are not related. Even the fittest of our trekkers have been hit by AMS. Even those who are unfit have been hit. There's really no proven co-relation.
